Came here for dinner the other night and it was a very lively atmosphere! We were greeted on the upper platform once you walk in with a sample of their piña colada drink ( Miami vice it may have been called?) We were quickly seated, even without a reservation and to be honest I don't know if they accommodate reservations. It's a relatively small space probably with about 12 tables and then the bar seating. The music is loud so if you're coming for the conversation, maybe choose another location, but the energy was high and the staff was helpful. The cocktail menu is pretty comprehensive, but the food menu is rather small. We ordered a variety of tacos and I think everyone's favorite was the Carne Asada. Unfortunately, there was some mixup with the drink orders, and overall the staff seemed a little flustered - Small downside to a pretty fun night.

El Perro Negro is a must-visit Mexican bar in downtown Breckenridge! The food and cocktails were both delicious, and the staff made the experience even better. Rick is an awesome bartender friendly, attentive, and makes great drinks. If you're in town, don't miss happy hour from 4-5 PM daily. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and definitely worth a stop!

What an awesome place we stumbled upon after dinner! El Perro Negro has a large tequila selection and they have the hard to find Forteleza tequila. The bartenders are super knowledgeable and they all can make some tasty cocktails. Cheers!

Owners were there and sat us when we arrived - they are so friendly and actively involved in the day to day, which was super cool to see. We were a group of 6, and we all tried different drinks, which were delicious! Great variety of drinks for every type of person. Located in the basement, and the decor is super cute, servers are very attentive and friendly, and overall great vibe. This will definitely be a regular spot we visit when we're up in Breck.

We were looking for a hidden gem in Breckenridge and stumbled across the recently opened Canary…read morespeakeasy! I won't divulge how to find this place because that was half the battle and made it worth the wait. We ultimately were gathered in the hotel lobby to take us back to the speakeasy - the welcome drink was a super nice touch! The speakeasy itself is fairly tiny - seats about 30? It felt super swanky and loved all the wood - felt like we were somewhere back in the 30s. The cocktail connoisseur behind the bar, Danny, makes you a custom made drink based your preferences. They can of course make standard drinks but what fun is that? In their menu, they have a list of the most popular liquors (gin, vodka, whiskey, rum, etc.) and then flavors that typically pair with those liquors. For example, I wanted some sort of whiskey sour and asked to make it with peach or ginger flavors. My husband asked for a gin drink with crème de violet and got a delicious play on an Aviation cocktail with aloe and rosemary simple syrup. Overall, a little bit of a hiccup to find it and get in, but the experience was awesome! Was a little scared when there weren't any prices on the menu, but for the overall experience of getting a custom crafted cocktail, it felt worth it. Follow the canary! Escorted through the kitchen and a bookcase door into a pleasant dark quiet upscale bar. Seating at the bar was our preferred choice to be close to the action. Cire, the bartender, was attentive, knowledgeable, fun, and just enjoyable to hang with. Get yourself there.

1. Atmospheres: Fantastic layout, very clean and great music (just the right volume to hear it but…read morehave a conversation). We sat at the bar because we heard great things about the happy hour from the locals. 2 Food: We researched before coming to Breckenridge what place had the best burger and Aurum's French Onion Burger came up at the top of the list. It did not disappoint. It was cooked to perfection (we like medium rare) and the sea salt french fries were delicious (no condiments needed for the burger or the fries)!! 3. Employees: The Hostess was friendly and got us seated right away. The Bartenders (Mike and George) made our evening a blast. Mike Ruda has a signature drink on the menu that he created called the Duck Fat Cadillac and it is a home run cocktail (10 out 10)!! George Johnson is a great conversationalist and is engaged with the customers. We showed him a twist to our favorite drink back home in San Antonio, the Carajillo and he made it perfectly! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Breckenridge and make sure you grab a seat at the bar and enjoy the conversations and the Duck Fat Cadillac!!

Now I recommend going early for happy hour or making reservations. We were heading out around 5:30pm and there was no seating available. For happy hour I had a glass of Rosé and lemon parmesan fries. The food, people, and ambiance were so amazing, we made dinner reservations for the whole fam. Luckily there was availability. That night we were sat promptly when we arrived and the table was set up with menus and water waiting for us. For appetizer, we started off with the Parker House rolls with the house honey butter and OMG those rolls are so fluffy and delicious. Highly suggest getting the rolls if you like bread. The butter complimented the bread beautifully. I started off the night with the blackberry smash with tequila and it was delicious. Just the right combo of sweetness. For entree we went with their Pasta Rotante which for the night was a crazy flavor combo of tomato, pumpkin seeds, crunchy carrot strings, sage and chicken sausage. I'm probably missing other ingredients, but it was a dance of flavors on the tongue. Our waiter recommended pairing this with a glass of Pinot Noir and it was the perfect compliment.
