We've been going to Rita"s for years when we come to Breck, and Imy past experiences have been 5-stars as indicated bt prior reviews. I've recommended Rita's to many friends. I'm sorry to say this year's experience was a let down. The food was still very good...their black bean tacos are excellent. But, what really changed for us was the service/vibe. In the past, ther server and bartenders were extremely friendly - always greeting us warmly and smiling as they worked. They place felt like a neighborhood restaurant where everyone was friends - even though many of us are visitors in town for a few days. This year, our server and bartender were not friendly or welcoming. They never smiled, answered our questions in a gruff, annoyed tone, and didn't even check-into see how things were. A clear comparison to the past: About 10 years ago, my wife spilled hers, and they quickly brought her another one at no charge. This year, I accidentally spilled my margarita...forget about bringing me another for free; the server cleaned it up and left without even asking if I wanted another one. Service and atmosphere matter to me, and I'm sad that one of my favorite places missed the high bar they had established many times in the past. Was this an off night for them? The service was amazing, I was expecting a Mexican place but it was for sure a dive bar. They make some great margaritas and they don't use store bought juices which is great! The tacos are happy hour buy 2 get one free but they are very high priced. The corn tortilla was not even cooked.. just out of the bag which was weird to me.. I'm not from Colorado so I was hoping for street tacos but once you have some drinks you'll want to try the beer battered fish taco for sure. Right off the main drag and down some stairs is this little taco joint that has every tequila under the sun. It is a small place and specializes in build your own tacos - although I had a burrito the day I went in and it was awesome. Great fresh made margaritas and a nice friendly staff. This is a really great tequila and mezcal bar located downstairs from Kenosha on Main Street in Breckenridge. The music is loud, but you can still have a conversation. There's a bar as well as tables. Happy hour is twice per day, 11-1 and 4-6. They serve tacos, chips and salsa, and burritos. They even have a couple of desserts. The bartender, Jesse, knows a lot about all the tequilas and mezcals that they have. The drinks are always perfect; and you can do some fancy shots as well! Friendly staff! We got the happy hour tacos, which were supposed to be on special buy two to get one at a discount but the way we ordered and they rang it we ended up getting overcharged, but instead of saying anything I just went on about my way. Best and probably the cheapest tacos in town. Margaritas are their jam!! They all know their stuff. There as about a 30 min wait to be seated but we were offered a seat next to the building where we could start with a drink. Main Street has been closed to cars and the restaurants are allowed outdoor seating in the street at this time. Initially we were told no food in the area where we were at. The owner, Joe, stopped by to see how we were doing and he said that it was ok for us to get chips and salsa where we were. It comes with red and green salsa and we ordered guacamole as well. All three were exceptional good, the green does have a little heat to it. I had the Diablo margarita and my wife had the Cadillac margarita. Both were really good and fresh made! Highly recommend coming here, and thanks again to Joe for letting us get chips with our drinks! We enjoyed ourselves so much we went back again tonight. Thank you Joe, for the recommendation. Me and my brother stopped in for a quick drink and I will say this; the spicy marg absolutely to die for!! It's cucumber forward and not too spicy just absolutely incredible honestly one of the best spicy margs I've ever had. I also really appreciate the fact that most of the margs you can turn into a 64oz pitcher. However the space inside the restaurant is so tiny. Everything is so packed and tight and not very comfortable. It was also extremely hot in there which is probably just the norm for the winter but I don't recommend for a big group. I do hate to say this because we didn't get food but the people to our left got tacos and I'm not gonna lie they looked very underwhelming. Again I didn't try so maybe they were actually good but at first glance I didn't want to try. I got the Espicy margarita for $14. The price was very high so I was assuming a lot of alcohol. The cup was super tiny and mostly ice.. It tasted like someone poured chili pepper right into my drink. It was way more spicy than the description, the cashier didn't really interact or recommend anything. I love spicy food and spicy margs but this one was definitely one of the worst I've tasted. My husband and I were spending a weekend in Breck and cruised Main Street for a while before settling on Rita's, which looked legit based on the decor and menu. We headed down to the basement spot and grabbed a high-top table. The place is small and can fill up. The staff was nice, friendly but casual. Although there was a handful of people at the next table and a smattering of people at the bar, the noise really carries; this spot is LOUD. It was difficult to carry on a convo. We both got the Espicy margarita, and those were really good. We ordered some chips and queso. That was fine, chips were definitely from a bag. Melty cheese is always good, but there wasn't really anything authentic about the queso dip, tasted a bit Cheez Whiz-y. I got two tacos, a fish Baja-style, and al Pastor Calle-style. These tacos are not good. You get a very small amount of meat on them and are eating mostly tortilla. I'm from Tucson so I have had some pretty legit tacos, and there isn't much authenticity here. If you're interested in some pre-dinner drinks, I'd say it's worth your time, but eat elsewhere. read more

Visited Rita's and the biggest bonus during C-19 is the addition of outdoor seating! This has more than doubled the amount of seating offer inside, which has a positive impact on "getting in". We had two of the Roca margaritas- very tasty! Chips and salsa. We sampled three of their soft tacos, hamburger, chucked and steak each with a different, of the three topping styles. They where good but the margaritas where why we stopped in. For me this is a must do during any visit to Breckenridge. They've been around a long time and it's part of the experience. read more
