You know it's a no frills Mexican restaurant when there's a tire shop right next to it. It's pretty small inside, but there's some seating. They also have a truck outside that you can order from. I ordered a shrimp burrito with avocado for takeout, and I thought it was delicious. It was very filling. The burrito had a fried piece of cheese on top, salsa verde, and a small salad. Nothing like a yummy bite of fatty fried pork in a taco filled with lettuce, tomatoes, and homemade guacamole, Mmmm! The Chicken Alambres has great flavor but it's just too messy to eat, cause it's loaded with delicious toppings. Tacos here aren't bad neither. Oh my goodness, cannot leave here without getting their Pork Chop Platter! What do you guys put in your seasoning? What's even better than throwing it in the fryer? Not grilled, FRIED pork chops .....it's so damn good. What else? Their Tres Leches Cake, moist creamy goodness, the sauce is just the perfect amount of sweetness. This place is a hidden gem, it's located in a quiet, ye diverse neighborhood. You would not expect to find a place like this here since there isn't much around. Amazing. We had the al pastor nachos and I, the tongue huaraches. The al pastor pork nachos were the bomb; a light layer of beans on top of the nachos along with guacamole and sour cream. The pork was succulent, the perfect combination of fat and protein. Before that we started off with complimentary nacho chips and fresh salsa. Green, red and fresh chutney salsa. My tongue huarache was on a fresh flour tortilla with tender, tender beef tongue. Had it with the green salsa. It was topped with sour cream and cheese that added just the right amount of flavor to compliment the rich tongue. We finished with a beautifully done tres leches cake. The perfect amount of sweetness after a rich meal. Would very likely come again! read more

So many sauce issues. How hard is it to remember to add the side sauces? Apparently can't even remember after I called and politely asked them to please add the sauce this time. I've ordered so many times and its like a god damn gamble if they added the sauces this time. Sauces was the tipping point, my last order involved a beef soup they didn't have anymore and when called to ask if they could replace it with a tripe soup, I asked if it was similar to the beef soup, vegetables, etc. just with tripe instead? He said yes, it was a lie. It was disgusting. It was old tripe in what I'd best describe as cayenne pepper water. Why not tell me you don't have soup today or no, the tripe soup is not similar and I'd just tell grubhub to take it off the bill. No You guys rather make sure the customers hate the food and dread ordering from you guys again. read more

I dont know whats really going on here. I have ordered from this spot multiple times and it always varies from meh to exceptional. There is no inbetween. The first time I ordered it was amazing. They even called me when part of my order couldnt be made due to lack of ingredients and hooked me up with something for free for my trouble. They also included tons of salsa verde. Its been a while since I ordered from there because they have a $15 min and I usually only order when I am with people.. but tonight I thought I would give it a go and it was completely meh. Forget the fact it took an hour - that doesnt even matter to me although I could see how that would piss some people off. Forget I had to order unnecessary food to make the minimum for delivery and now I am sitting here like an asshole with an ridiculous amount of pico de gallo (that didnt come with chips) Nevermind they dont allow to tip the additional sum to make the delivery minimum ( which is how I usually roll) And I am also willing to set aside the fact they didnt include as much sauce All of that is just basic bs you deal with when ordering delivery. But. Forgetting the avocado. Unacceptable. Heres the deal guys: *show some consistency in taste and customer service * lower your minimum amount to 12. It makes it impossible for one person to order a meal. AND if you do keep the minimum at 15 then show up sooner (within 45 min) Youre good..... but you arent THAT good. read more

Ordered food for 3 people and it went into the garbage in less than a minute after delivery. The food was TERRIBLE. Flautas were like cardboard, enchilada mole was inedible, vegetable burrito had hair in it. All 3 dishes were thrown in garbage. Called them and they wanted to send more food but made by someone else. I refused, no way I can eat that glop. They were nice enough to have seamless refund my money after I called to complain. Picture is enchilada mole which was inedible. The only reason it got a big one star is because it wouldn't post this unless I selected one of them. read more

Today I ordered an Al pastor taco and an Al pastor hurache. What got delivered was a carnitas taco and a carna asada huarache. I called the restaurant to ask for what I really ordered and the lady was very rude. First she told me that the driver was still on the way with my food and hung up. I called back again to tell her it had infact been delivered but it was the wrong order. She told me that the carnitas taco and carna asada huarache was what I had ordered. I have never ordered carnitas or carna asada in my life!! After shouting at me and shouting in Spanish (which in don't ubderstand, she told me she wasn't going to send me the correct order she hung up on me again! Being stuck with food I paid for I decided to eat it. The hurache was burnt and meat was hard and chewy. The taco was ok. Way too many onions. read more

I've ordered way too many times and have accepted the mediocrity of the food, but they've driven me to the edge of wtf. First off, the food is NEVER consistent. You can order tacos every week and it will always be different. Sometimes there's avocados, sometimes there's corn, who knows? Your burgers could have fries, and sometimes it won't and they'll make up some rule that you need to order it. It's easy to order through yelp eats or grubhub, but try calling them when there's something wrong with the order and the person who picks up the phone does NOT speak English and they will hang up on you if they don't get what your saying regardless of how nice your tone is on the phone. I had to contact yelpeats to let them know they forgot to send a burrito in the order. They came to deliver it...extra fucking spicy. I'm certain it was their intention. That was definitely retaliation. I don't understand why we ordered again after that but, this is what drove me to the edge.... The pork tacos tasted rather disgusting and upon further examination, it was exclusively packed with cubes of PURE FAT! All of them. It was nauseating. Everything else I ordered had to go in the trash! I despise them for the betrayal after being such a loyal customer. I can not eat from this place any longer and I don't know how any of you can. I love this place! Probably eat here 3x out of the week. The best mexican food and the reason I love it is because I love everything on their menu and it taste so authentic. Their desserts are great! The only con is they close early and they take approx 30-45mins to deliver. read more

A small restaurant with horrible service. I called ahead of time to make my food order just to have it for pickup and by the time I arrived, food still wasn't ready nor did they begin to make my order. All the workers were just standing there doing nothing and there was nothing on the grill being cooked. When I asked the worker where my order was, they said "Not yet". I stood here waiting for the food and still didn't get my food for another 30 mins realizing that the cook was making food for one of the workers just so she can leave for the day. I thought customers come first, but guess not. Definitely wouldn't recommend this restaurant. read more

I went to this restaurant twice but in the third time the quality of the food was terrible. My spouse told the owner that the food was no good and she refused to rectify the situation. All she said was "oh I'm sorry". Not once did she ask if we wanted something else or offer to take it off the bill. She saw how annoyed we were and could care less!! Customer Service is important. Lost a good tipping customer forever. read more

Hands down the best tacos in the neighborhood. Don't let this restaurants humble exterior appearance fool you. They serve up some of the best food in the entire neighborhood. From their rice and beans, perfectly cooked french fries and to_die_for tacos. Their Cuban torta comes fully loaded and is as big as your head! Highly recommend it. And don't miss out on their taco Al pastor which in my opinion is their best. Perfectly seasoned roasted pork with fresh cilantro, onion and radish. It's not to be missed! Also their delivery times are usually pretty fast. read more

Solid NYC Mexican. Don't go expecting Tacos El Bronco level Mexican (West Coast standards), but I have always been satisfied with quality and quantity. Al Pastor and their Chorizo tacos and burritos have been my favorite. I wasnt crazy about the Barbacoa. read more

Worse Mexican food I have ever ate. Never ordering from here again. Guacamole was like soup it was very watery reminded me of some type of avocado sauce. My boyfriend ordered the barbacoa burrito and there were bones in it, it tasted disgusting and very spicy. My tostada wasn't very good either and looked like slop. We had maybe four bites of our food before throwing it away. How does a restaurant serve bones in a burrito? read more

Delivery took about an hour and a half but that's okay, I'm not dying of hunger just yet. What probably prompted me to write this review is the food. Yes, the food is disgusting. Carne Enchilada Torta was chewy and gross - could not finish it. Next, Camarones a La Diabla. So disappointing. I didn't even bothering trying my last item. So much for wanting to try a new spot. As a Taco lover, I can say that their tacos are ok. I know that it isn't easy to find CA style tacos in NY, but I keep searching. The guacamole is too watery for my taste. And the chicken was burned. There is an exact point to cook the perfect taco, when you leave it too long it will burned, and if you take it out too early it won't include all the flavored a good taco should include. It was OK, and I may visit here again one day. read more

Love their food, everything is good. The restaurant always made everything fresh. I especially like their green sauce, it has a good kick to it. Potions are huge. Even the desserts are fabulous. They are in a quiet part of Fort Hamilton Parkway so it's never busy, but they do take their time cooking. Just go you would t regret it:) read more

I was surprised on how good this place was! Best Mexican food I've had in Brooklyn. Way better than all the places in Sunset Park. Food was quality and staff was very friendly. I went 2 days in one week being hopeful and the price for my vegetarian burrito changed by nearly $2.00. There was no reason for this. The burrito also was better the first time. I also asked them to make it spicy but they claimed it will be. It wasn't. I asked for hot sauce, the cashier lady was not so willing to give me one. I asked again and she gave me one but I ordered for 2 people and I was hoping she would provide one for each burrito. I also asked for cheese in my burrito...there was no cheese. The first time there was some. I asked for avocado and there wasn't any. I had to cut up my own avocado on the side. I felt like they were being really stingy with me. It's not cheap and the price somehow increased in less than a week so give me a spicy cheese burrito please. Why is that so hard!? read more

The truffle cornbread was an excellent starter, prepared by their baker who now has his own bakery called Masa Madre in Queens. Next time. My wife decided on the chicken mole, which was comparable to the last time she had it in Mexico City. Excellent preparation and a very large portion. I chose the shrimp fajitas which were typical in appearance and flavor except for one thing. I'm not sure how they exactly prepared their peppers that accompanied the shrimp fajitas (the waiter mentioned that they cook it alongside the meat which added more flavor), but all I can tell you is that the sweetness of those peppers was so incredibly rich and accented the entire dish so wonderfully. Walking in they've decorated with creative, crafty (in a good way) touches--the multitude of ropes draped from the ceiling add dimension to the ceiling and the bar back wall is composed of wood pieces forming a multi-colored herringbone pattern. Textured glass pendant lights hanging from the ceiling throw mini geometric patterns across the dark walls, and vibrant canvas artworks add pictorial interest along the walls. FOOD: YUM. I can see why this place was jam packed on a Saturday night, and reservations are needed. Strong recommendation for their tasting menu at $58 pp, what a delightful meal! 8 sharing dishes and 3 desserts were perfect for a party of five, and drinks are separate though you can add a cocktail pairing for $47. For each main they provide a serving per person, and the desserts are shared. I came hungry and was so full by the end of the meal--everything was delicious! - grapefruit guacamole w/house-made chips: the grapefruit chunks were "meaty" and surprisingly went really well with the guac, it added a different citrus element than the usual lime. Comes with a small bowl of maybe 6-7 chips and we asked for two chips refills since the chips to guac and salsa ratio was low. - spicy faroe islands' salmon tartar: tasty and I liked the latin flavors and corn, snow peas, a touch of wasabi. Flavors of the sesame-soy-truffle-lemon vin and crema got a little muddled. Relatively more "generic" dish of the evening though I was here for it! Any dish with fresh tender salmon, I can't complain. - blue crab and carrot tostada, generous shredded crab salad on top of freshly crisp blue corn tortilla. Topped with pumpkin seeds, dill, cilantro, and saffron-orange aioli. - three cheese & artichoke 'queso fundido': served in a very hot ceramic pot and super melty and delicious, eaten with the fluffy grilled pita and green apple slices + salsa.
