You know it's a no frills Mexican restaurant when there's a tire shop right next to it. It's pretty small inside, but there's some seating. They also have a truck outside that you can order from. Amazing. We had the al pastor nachos and I, the tongue huaraches. The al pastor pork nachos were the bomb; a light layer of beans on top of the nachos along with guacamole and sour cream. The pork was succulent, the perfect combination of fat and protein. Before that we started off with complimentary nacho chips and fresh salsa. Green, red and fresh chutney salsa. My tongue huarache was on a fresh flour tortilla with tender, tender beef tongue. Had it with the green salsa. It was topped with sour cream and cheese that added just the right amount of flavor to compliment the rich tongue. We finished with a beautifully done tres leches cake. The perfect amount of sweetness after a rich meal. Would very likely come again! read more

So many sauce issues. How hard is it to remember to add the side sauces? Apparently can't even remember after I called and politely asked them to please add the sauce this time. I've ordered so many times and its like a god damn gamble if they added the sauces this time. Sauces was the tipping point, my last order involved a beef soup they didn't have anymore and when called to ask if they could replace it with a tripe soup, I asked if it was similar to the beef soup, vegetables, etc. just with tripe instead? He said yes, it was a lie. It was disgusting. It was old tripe in what I'd best describe as cayenne pepper water. Why not tell me you don't have soup today or no, the tripe soup is not similar and I'd just tell grubhub to take it off the bill. I dont know whats really going on here. I have ordered from this spot multiple times and it always varies from meh to exceptional. There is no inbetween. The first time I ordered it was amazing. They even called me when part of my order couldnt be made due to lack of ingredients and hooked me up with something for free for my trouble. They also included tons of salsa verde. Its been a while since I ordered from there because they have a $15 min and I usually only order when I am with people.. but tonight I thought I would give it a go and it was completely meh. Forget the fact it took an hour - that doesnt even matter to me although I could see how that would piss some people off. Forget I had to order unnecessary food to make the minimum for delivery and now I am sitting here like an asshole with an ridiculous amount of pico de gallo (that didnt come with chips) Nevermind they dont allow to tip the additional sum to make the delivery minimum ( which is how I usually roll) And I am also willing to set aside the fact they didnt include as much sauce All of that is just basic bs you deal with when ordering delivery. But. Forgetting the avocado. Unacceptable. Heres the deal guys: *show some consistency in taste and customer service * lower your minimum amount to 12. It makes it impossible for one person to order a meal. AND if you do keep the minimum at 15 then show up sooner (within 45 min) Youre good..... but you arent THAT good. read more

Ordered food for 3 people and it went into the garbage in less than a minute after delivery. The food was TERRIBLE. Flautas were like cardboard, enchilada mole was inedible, vegetable burrito had hair in it. All 3 dishes were thrown in garbage. Called them and they wanted to send more food but made by someone else. I refused, no way I can eat that glop. They were nice enough to have seamless refund my money after I called to complain. Today I ordered an Al pastor taco and an Al pastor hurache. What got delivered was a carnitas taco and a carna asada huarache. I called the restaurant to ask for what I really ordered and the lady was very rude. First she told me that the driver was still on the way with my food and hung up. I called back again to tell her it had infact been delivered but it was the wrong order. She told me that the carnitas taco and carna asada huarache was what I had ordered. I have never ordered carnitas or carna asada in my life!! After shouting at me and shouting in Spanish (which in don't ubderstand, she told me she wasn't going to send me the correct order she hung up on me again! Being stuck with food I paid for I decided to eat it. The hurache was burnt and meat was hard and chewy. The taco was ok. Way too many onions. read more

I've ordered way too many times and have accepted the mediocrity of the food, but they've driven me to the edge of wtf. First off, the food is NEVER consistent. You can order tacos every week and it will always be different. Sometimes there's avocados, sometimes there's corn, who knows? Your burgers could have fries, and sometimes it won't and they'll make up some rule that you need to order it. It's easy to order through yelp eats or grubhub, but try calling them when there's something wrong with the order and the person who picks up the phone does NOT speak English and they will hang up on you if they don't get what your saying regardless of how nice your tone is on the phone. I had to contact yelpeats to let them know they forgot to send a burrito in the order. They came to deliver it...extra fucking spicy. I'm certain it was their intention. That was definitely retaliation. I don't understand why we ordered again after that but, this is what drove me to the edge.... The pork tacos tasted rather disgusting and upon further examination, it was exclusively packed with cubes of PURE FAT! All of them. It was nauseating. Everything else I ordered had to go in the trash! I despise them for the betrayal after being such a loyal customer. I can not eat from this place any longer and I don't know how any of you can. A small restaurant with horrible service. I called ahead of time to make my food order just to have it for pickup and by the time I arrived, food still wasn't ready nor did they begin to make my order. All the workers were just standing there doing nothing and there was nothing on the grill being cooked. When I asked the worker where my order was, they said "Not yet". I stood here waiting for the food and still didn't get my food for another 30 mins realizing that the cook was making food for one of the workers just so she can leave for the day. Hands down the best tacos in the neighborhood. Don't let this restaurants humble exterior appearance fool you. They serve up some of the best food in the entire neighborhood. From their rice and beans, perfectly cooked french fries and to_die_for tacos. Their Cuban torta comes fully loaded and is as big as your head! Highly recommend it. And don't miss out on their taco Al pastor which in my opinion is their best. Perfectly seasoned roasted pork with fresh cilantro, onion and radish. It's not to be missed! As a Taco lover, I can say that their tacos are ok. I know that it isn't easy to find CA style tacos in NY, but I keep searching. The guacamole is too watery for my taste. And the chicken was burned. There is an exact point to cook the perfect taco, when you leave it too long it will burned, and if you take it out too early it won't include all the flavored a good taco should include. Love their food, everything is good. The restaurant always made everything fresh. I especially like their green sauce, it has a good kick to it. Potions are huge. Even the desserts are fabulous. I went 2 days in one week being hopeful and the price for my vegetarian burrito changed by nearly $2.00. There was no reason for this. The burrito also was better the first time. I also asked them to make it spicy but they claimed it will be. It wasn't. I asked for hot sauce, the cashier lady was not so willing to give me one.
