Food was great. I rarely have good Mexican food in Oregon so you can imagine my surprise when it was actually great.

Frida-inspired work
Troy H.

We went here once. Reviews made it sound like one of the best Mexican spots in Corvallis. Must be those $16 jumbo margaritas. I did really like the dozen artworks of Frida. Tables are really cool with burned designs, but upholstery needs a refresh. Let's run through it. Chips were stale and chewy. Ewww. Sent them back to get get similar but warm, so there was at least a little crunch. Salsa reportedly made "in house" but it's pretty much Sysco salsa with some Tapatio added. Tacos carbon came single shell with way too many half-cooked, crunchy onions on top. Beef was more chewy that I would expect. Accompanying rice and beans had nothing remarkable. Traditional lime margarita is good. Here is my favorite part. My co-worker and I are done. Want a to-go box and a bill. 20 minutes later, and not seeing the waitress again, I start hollering back into the kitchen. Someone is washing dishes, but no one comes out. 4 tables occupied in dining room. Couldn't wait longer, left my business card. Bartender calls me, I ask for a discount due to our inconvenience. Refuses and says there was nothing "wrong" with the meal and threatened to call the police on me saying "in a restaurant you sometimes have to wait." Really? I left my business card to be contacted for payment dippy. Apparently the waitress had an emergency and just bounced without letting anyone know. So we went there once.

Verde enchiladas

It's friendly here. Yes, it's a typical Mexican restaurant with the usual suspects. But don't we all need that sometimes? A cozy spot that offers comforting food such as cheesy enchiladas and great salsa and chips? I asked for a hotter salsa, and what came out was perfect. The kick and flavor I needed. There is a lot of space here to accommodate large parties. In the back, there is a bar that looks fun but was not open during my visit. My margarita was the usual restaurant style; so it was not fresh squeezed, but it got me through. The service was spectacular. The fella was running all the tables during my visit, and he didn't miss a beat. Friendly, fast, and fun conversation. Come on by and try out the hot salsa with your complimentary chips.

Enchiladas Verdes

El Patron is hands down the best Mexican food I have had in a good long while! We came in for lunch and had Enchiladas Verdes, Enchiladas Rojas and nachos. Unbelievable. Every bite! Not only was the food amazing the service was great and the atmosphere welcoming! We will be returning on a regular basis!

Solid choice for sit down Mexican food. Kind of a weird menu but does the job in Corvallis!!! Give them a try.

This is the photo of the VEGETARIAN FAJITA BURRITO

Good servers, but price changes took us by surprise. Me and my friends were picking up our food, and we noticed that certain prices had been bumped up. We kindly asked the servers what happened and they said they had a second site and they were working on terminating the site with incorrect prices. When we checked, there was no second site that they stated. The person at the front desk ask failed to show us a second site. The front desk people were kind until the owner came out and shut the conversation up and told us to leave. Again the servers were really nice, but the owner was being very rude to us and didn't even want to confront the issue that we brought up with them. For one of my friends, she's a vegetarian and they added CHICKEN to the order. On door dash it was listed as just a fajita burrito and there was no option to order without meat.

If you're willing to stop and enjoy the ambiance while you enjoy your chips n salsa and well made margaritas, this spot on the edge of downtown Corvallis is a great option to enjoy with your friends on a Saturday night. Our mixed drinks were blended perfectly, we enjoyed a few different types due to there being so many options. The meals were beyond our expectations in flavor and overall quality. Stop by this place for the nostalgic feel and solid dinner menu!

Great new spot we finally tried it out. Everything was fresh

The food is great and the ambiance is perfect. My only complaint is that the chairs are a little awkward.

My fajitas were bland, the tortillas were not homemade, and the food was $20:00 each, the queso was not even cheesy, and do not recommend.

Food was alright. El Patron Margarita was meh and cost 25$. The drink prices are not on the menu so asked if you're concerned at all.

I have never once been disappointed. The skirt steak taco and Korean BBQ taco are my favorites, but there's seriously not a bad item on the menu. The one downside is that it gets LOUD during peak hours.

A short walk from our hotel we were both excited as we remember we loved this place. She dreamed about the DIY guacamole. Which we did order. The menu had a wide variety of options both food and drink. Though when I see the word taco on an establishments name I would expect jalapeños to be available. I am a sucker for a jalapeño margarita and this was unavailable. I was 100% disappointed and settled for a 5 pepper margarita. It was ok. I get that this is a Mexican fusion establishment, but sometimes it's not necessary to try so hard. Our server was meh, did not have much information on anything(if you work at a place that has a different concept I would hope there would be a little insight). We did remember getting the diy guac as well as the flaming queso which were by far the highlight. We probably could have stopped there, but did not. I ordered the Thai chicken curry, the Peking duck and fish taco. All of them combined together qualified as ok. The Peking was the best out of all of them, but had a bit of grissel to it. The fish taco was pretty one dimensional and the Thai chicken. Well I tried to eat it but the flavor not my jam. All in all I ate the meat out of the fish and duck. Needless to say it was not a happy homecoming to TacoVino. It might be other people's jam, just not ours.

It was not the one I was thinking of, and I really wish we had stayed here. Very clean and beautiful on the inside. We were the first patrons of the day. The bartender was so kind and friendly it immediately boosted our moral as we had been on a train for over 5 hours. After figuring out this was not the place we were looking for we decided to stay for drinks and an appetizer. The jalapeño marg(which I will order whenever available), was not only delicious, but had a beautiful presentation. I love the fact that with the chip you get the bean dip too, since some places just do salsa. Their salsa was tasty too! We order the chicken and cheese taquitos for our app, which also had a nice presentation and was cooked perfectly. I am disappointed we left here in search of the original Mexican place that we had been to years later. If you are in search of great traditional Mexican food look no further. Next year when we are in town this will be our first stop. I am already looking forward to it!!
