This was our first time trying this restaurant. Our server Chuck was extremely friendly and professional, we enjoyed his service and positive attitude. I ordered the chicken quesidillas and my daughter ordered the Vegetarian B combo. The food came out quickly and my chicken quesidillas barely had chicken in them. My daughters meal was soggy and the beans were awful. We couldn't eat the meal that's how awful it was. It was the WORST mexican food we've ever had. We let our server Chuck know and he kindly got his manager. The manager came to the table and advised us he would take the food off of the bill, his tone had a slight attitude and he didn't seem happy with us that we were unhappy with our food. I moved to Myrtle Beach from Los Angeles, home of the best Mexican food in the world. I tried a few local spots and found that it was primarily tex-mex and then discovered El Patio! I love their carnitas (Ask for lime and verde sauce on the side), delicious! The shrimp fajitas were fresh and sizzling. The tacos are yummy and the meat is nicely seasoned and doesn't taste like Taco Bell. The wait staff is friendly and the owner is involved with our local schools. The food here hasn't fail my yet. Of course this is American Mexican and not authentic Mexican food. But it's close.

The food was very good and the service was excellent. Loved the outdoor seating but forgot to ask about the fireplace they have out there. For the price you get very large portions, in fact I very rarely have enough to take leftovers, but from this place I did. The fajitas were very good and come with plenty of meat/veggies to fill you up. I felt for the size of the menu they had a fair amount of vegetarian options and they were even able to accommodate a gluten free diet. If you're near campus and want a great place to get some Mexican food and a few drinks this is definitely not a bad spot to check out. read more

Chuck is the best server we've ever had at El Patio. We request him every time. Never gets our orders wrong and remembers what we each like for our drinks. The owner is always on premise and is super nice as well. They're pretty good about getting orders right, I think we've only had one mix with our orders here and we've been here over a dozen times already. My favorite is their shrimp fajitas, they do special on Tuesday I believe, where they take a couple of dollars off the price for a fajita. I do take out orders from here as well. They don't deliver but grubhub does. The only thing Lacking here is a veterans a discount. read more

After reading reviews we vistied with frineds. I got my order first, the last member of our party did not get his order till everyone had finished. 3 of the orders were wrong and were sent back. We spoke to the manager and the waiter wanted to argue about his poor service. Either he didn't understand, did not listen (likely) or did not care. This is one of the worst customer service experiences we have ever had. To walk in a restaurant were a server was having lunch at a table and another person behind the bar with out uniform and not one person greeted us. This was just the beginning. We sat at bar for 5 minutes. No one came to take order. We had decided at that time to leave. When a server came in with old chips in a basket and said he did not know we were their because he could not see us. Takes a order, leaves someone else comes with food. Honestly, a lot of people seem to like this place so maybe my review is bias, but from the two times I went within the last three years, I still rate this place my worst dinner since I came to SC. The servers seem relatively decent and polite, except the food to me has been horrid both times. The first time was bad enough that I walked out mid meal feeling disgusting. The second time I ordered guac and got some liquid substance that instantly told me it was going to be a rough time. I went with friends so I chose to tolerate it. My main dish was one of the enchilada dishes which also seemed very watery and "moist" not in a good way. It was literally dripping like water or something and falling apart soggy by my second bite. I decided to get a passion fruit mojito pitcher to increase my mood, and it was extremely sweet, thick, and had no taste of alcohol. I went in to eat dinner solo and I had the worst service ever. Being alone, I decided to sit at the bar but I don't drink. I guess the bar tender didn't like that I wasn't boozing it up. I asked for a menu and that took forever. Keep in mind, there were only 4 people in the entire restaurant. I didn't get chips until after I ordered. I got my food quickly but I didn't have silverware. The service was extremely poor. Waited forever to place order, the waitress was sitting at a table with the rest of the servers. I ordered a margarita that tasted watered down and the ACP and my husband ordered the taquitos. My food was barley warm and my husband's rice was cold. Neither myself or husband finished even half of our meals. We then again waited forever for our waitress to come back to give us the check. She didn't come after waiting for a long while finally got up and went to the front to be able to get the check. Extremely poor service and food. Will not be going back and would not recommend.
