Been coming here for 5 years now, the food is awesome...mostly consistent. BUT the service HORRENDOUS! We were told 30 min wait for a 2 table wait, that was fine. When sat we waited 5 min or so to be acknowledged by any sever I counted 6. When I asked about taco specials seeing how it was taco Tuesday my server rolled her eyes listed chicken carne or shrimp...no prices just a list of tacos available. We ordered our food, after about 10 minutes later I had to approach all the servers behind the bar giving each other back rubs to ask them for chips and salsa since food was taking longer than normal and my kids were getting wild. The manager brought us our food just sat it down and left. Our server came shortly after and I was able to get an extra plate I needed but after that no checkup on us the food or our empty soda cups. Working in the same service and knowing the 6 servers working only had 14 tables all together in the restaurant and couldn't even express the 10-4 rule was disappointing. Oh and here's the "fresh chips" crumbs we waited for them to "freshly make." The pasta was amazing if you're looking for friendly fast good service this is NOT the place.

I visited El Paraiso last Thursday night for dinner and have dined there a few times over the past several years. It's an unusual restaurant as it is a combination of Mexican and Italian dishes being offered. El Paraiso is in its own building with an ample sized gravel parking on the side and rear. Inside it consists of one large open dining room with a small bar. There is another separate room for private parties. This is a casual table service eatery. Shortly after being seated the table receives complimentary chips and red salsa no matter which side of the menu you order from. My last Yelp review here was for Mexican so this time I went Italian ordering the Rosemary chicken for $17. I tried not to eat too much of the chips and salsa because eating those and then Italian food seemed weird but to each his own. The entree arrived less than 20 minutes later. It was a chicken breast that had been sautéed in olive oil with mushrooms, garlic, spinach and rosemary (of course) that made for a tasty sauce over a bed of fettuccine. It was both delicious and filling. The meal also came with a generous piece of buttered garlic bread. The table service was good too. El Paraiso is a restaurant that does pull off serving very good Italian and Mexican meals in the Chino Valley. It's a good and solid choice for a meal.

We were a little iffy about going to a place that does both Mexican and Italian food. But we're pleasantly surprised with el paraiso! We only got Mexican food so I can't talk about the Italian side, but what we did have was great! Lots of flavor! There was a bit of wait as it was packed in the restaurant as well which is always a good sign! Our server was quick and attentive even with how busy it was. I'm looking forward to coming back to try the Italian food!

Hubby and I checked this place out after our 14 mile bike ride on the Peavine trail. We arrived a bit after 12noon and were seated and ordered our food (two entrees) by 12:15. Within minutes, the place got incredibly busy, and the two young ladies who were seating and waiting on customers were completely overwhelmed. It took 45 minutes for our food. No appetizers, just two entrees. My husband had an Italian pasta dish and I had their Ceviche bowl. Thankful that our 45 minute wait resulted in good tasting food - but that's far too long to wait. After our bike ride, we were famished! So as much as we enjoyed the food here at this family-owned restaurant, it's a 'one and done' for us.

I have had a few different menu options. The wings are great and I haven't got a dish that I was unhappy with.

Outside there was an uncovered patio with a musician playing his guitar. Inside I saw a full bar in its own room and then 2 dining rooms. I ordered the chicken fajitas for $23.10 (weird pricing) and asked for the ranchero beans and homemade flour tortillas. First to arrive was a basket of complimentary chips and two red salsas. One was mild and the other spicy, I enjoyed them both the mild one more so. The meal arrived about 15 minutes later. I noticed the large bowl of beans along with a healthy dollop of sour cream and another one of guac. The sizzling platter had grilled onions and red and green bell peppers with the grilled chicken, of course. The beans were good tasting in their broth but I couldn't detect anything like bacon in them. Kiddos on being such a large serving but taste wise I thought they were average. The fajitas were good tasting with the added pico de gallo that came with the meal but not to the point that I would return for them again anytime soon. And at $23 for chicken seemed to be a little expensive. I would return to El Charro to try something else especially considering that the amount of restaurants in Chino Valley is kind of limited.

The manager (one of them) came out of the office hollering and cursing about an employee that has already left. When I say cursing, I mean cursing dropping the f-bomb about the employee multiple times. The employee in the front register couldn't take an order right. She kept messing up and making excuses about having "a blonde moment" yelling it across the back to the manager the one that came out cursing and hollering. There was someone working on the drink machine and when my husband went to the counter to let someone know, the cashier said, "oh, I should have told you. Sorry, I'm having 'a blonde moment'". This was just uncalled for and completely rude in trying to be "funny" because she kept messing up. I have gotten old moldy lemon cake and when I called it in they told me they were closed and nothing could be done. I still went back to give it another try, but I really think they should either fire the current staff and get a whole new crew or just shut down. This is not a place any one should go into. Just because it's located in a small town that everyone knows everyone doesn't mean the ones who come in to give the establishment business should endure the rudeness and straight disrespect for coworkers and patrons. When I asked who owned or was it a corporate store the one staff had no idea and said, "she had no access to that information, but her manager did" I told her that was the one that was being rude and cursing about the other staff. She had nothing to say, she couldn't even believe that had happen since she had just clocked in not to long before I asked. The other is the lie that was told about my husband being rude and yelling. There is one key fact in this straight lie...... My husband cannot speak very loud at all due to a medical injury. He can barely be heard or understood by others if they can not hear due to loud surroundings like inside the restaurant is usually. STAY AWAY! Unless the place does some serious clean up with their rude and disrespectful staff.
