I went specifically for the papusa's and I thoroughly enjoyed them. The menu said I would get guac with what I had ordered but never got it and the waitress was less than interested in helping me. Chips are average but the sauce and slaw served with the papusa was really delicious. I wasn't overly impressed with the salsa or the queso with chorizo. After seeing the reviews of the tortas, I'll return to try them. read more

Every time we get to sand Springs this is my favorite place to stop. I have the best food. Their prices are reasonable. Cheese dip is very flavorful. The guacamole is good very good. Just don't seem to get to sand Springs very often, but I'd give it at least four stars Taco Tuesday they have wonderful street tacos for only $1.25 Apiece Good Pl. for lunch afternoon get together for evening dinner. read more

Family run, fantastic food. I always adjust my point scale on comparison level to other restaurants in close proximity. You'll forget for a minute you are in Sand Springs and that is a point scorer. (No dig on SS just stating the obvious relative to the food style offered). This is just a little 10 table place all about food. I was very impressed with this little restaurant. Possibly an overlooked and misunderstood gem. First of all, it is authentic, so ignore the lame, misinformed assessments from the Taco Bell feeders and the Mexican food experts that always start their reviews with "I'm from [fill in the blank] and so I know authentic Mexican food." The food is not OkieMex. The slight noticeable difference, being milder spices and the food not floating in queso. Enough of what it is not. What is is..... Fresh, very fresh salsa, tasty salsa. Both the mild and the picante were excellent. Even without the level of heat that I usually demand in a salsa these were wonderful. Freshness wins here. The Salsa Roja Enchiladas (covered with a perfect red sauce) and the Chili Relleno were both overloaded with nicely seasoned ground beef. There was no skimping on the meat. Sides of tasty, smooth refried beans and pleasantly flavored rice. Two very enjoyable meals. The service was friendly, prompt and attentive throughout the meal. The visible cleanliness and upkeep of the small restaurant made a very favorable impression. Not what is typical for these small town, repurposed structures. We had such a great experience! There is such a great variety of food on the menu! More than what the pictures on here right now show. They have THE BEST salsa. It's so fresh! Also the best rice and beans! Usually the rice and beans at a Mexican style restaurant aren't a home run for me, but these were so good. My husband loved the fish tacos. I had the wet burrito. Both were very good. Papusa was ok, but I'm not accustom to eating them. So maybe just not for me. Queso is pretty good. It's a yellow queso, I prefer white. But my husband really loved it! He likes yellow queso. We will definitely be back! Can't wait to try more things they have. So many options other Latin/mexican restaurants don't have! Must go. Prices are amazing! read more

No photos from this delicious take out dinner, unfortunately. We ordered a multitude of tacos from here last week one night when we were too tired to cook. I had 4 Steak street tacos, and my friends shared in a bevy of chicken street style tacos, and pork Street style tacos. Their hot sauce was even delicious. The meat was all tender and flavorful. The tortillas were prepared correctly and our order came out exactly as we ordered it. I can't wait to try this place again! read more

This place is such a good find. By far the best Mexican restaurant in sand springs, and my new go to. The service was awesome, very friendly and speedy. The chips and salsa were DELICIOUS. The salsa was very flavorful, and it was a crowd pleaser; not very spicy but still very flavorful. My whole group loved everything that they got. I got the Central American breakfast because I am a huge breakfast lover. Loved it, so flavorful and delicious. They came with tortillas as well, so quite a bang for your buck. The pupusas were great as well! I'm so glad that sand springs has a place like this. Authentic, and fresh. Hopefully you get to experience this wonderful place as well! read more

Very small restaurant that we have passed by several times. We started the meal with chips and salsa (very mild) if you like hotter just ask for some. We then had a pupusa, which comes with a spicy sour kraut. Then we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 street tacos with rice and beans. The fish tacos were my husbands favorite and I really enjoyed my carne asada tacos. The only reason for 4 stars was the noise and we will ask to sit outside when we come back (and yes we will be back) read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND EL NOPAL ZERO STARS!!! Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience at El Nopal. This past Saturday we wanted to try a New Mexican place. After ordering the waitress said if we made our order online we could save 10%. So I got online and attempt to order the same thing I had already told the waitress. We ordered steak and chicken fajitas mixed. However, on their website to order when you select "Mixed Fajitas" there is no place to place that you don't want shrimp accept in comments. So I pull up the Fajitas, and there is no option to choose which meat, so I stated in the notes that we wanted steak and chicken fajitas. Then we ordered a wet burrito, a quesadilla no sour cream or pico, and 2 sides of rice. When we received the order, I found 2 errors. 1) there was only one side of rice. According to waitress they placed both sides into one container. Even though I found it odd to put two different peoples food in the same container, no big deal, I can separate that at home. #2 the fajitas were only steak. So waitress goes and asks manager/owner about it. He said it wasn't mentioned on the slip that we wanted mixed. I explained to waitress not only did I tell her, that I also placed it in the notes. She went back and then told us manager said that he did not print the notes, but that we should have selected mixed fajitas. I showed the waitress on their site there is no way to select any meats or to de select seafood. Since we have a seafood allergy in the home we did not select the mixed. I also advised that he must've printed the notes because they got the note to put no sour cream or pico on the quesadilla. Waitress goes back to manager/owner and he said he can give us chicken too but it will cost us an additional$7.99. I asked why would it cost us another 8 bucks if on the menu the price difference between regular and mixed fajita is only $2.00. She said we would have to buy the complete regular plate again. I advised that I wanted to speak to the manager. His first excuse to not come talk to me was that he did not speak English. I advised I am fluent in Spanish. Waitress went and spoke to manager/owner again and told me that he refuses to come speak with me and if we wanted the chicken we had to pay the extra 8 bucks. I told her that I understand having to pay for the chicken but not for a whole portion. I suggested that it could have been resolved by just giving us a little bit of chicken and charging us the difference between the two plates and I find is very unprofessional that he would not come speak with us. To top it off: My quesadilla was burnt, the fajita meat was crunchy, and the burrito had zero flavor. 0 from my family. read more
