Now, the small inconspicuous building is split down the middle. A dispensary providing medicinal stress relief to the community operates in the west side and the family owned and operated Taqueria El Sabor Jarocho restaurant fills the remaining half. Driving into Skiatook from Hwy 75, the restaurant is unnoticed, and is equally invisible as you leave town headed east; mostly hidden by the vehicles parked under the old gas station canopy. It looks more like a small used car lot. The letters stenciled on the border of the old canopy that once proclaimed the restaurants existence have faded to extinction. Inside there is a small dining area with six tables that occupy the restaurant's allotted half the structure. Somewhere behind the wall in the remaining space is a functioning kitchen. A damn good one! Chips and good mild salsa come with the meal. There are several other varieties of salsa available. All good. The one that was in the little to-go cup was the best. Flavorful, a little smokey and not extremely hot. I bet they have a green salsa too. Hot plates came to the table. My wife had the beef enchiladas covered in an authentic red sauce (not tomato sauce.) Plenty of flavor on the plate, nothing bland. Beans and rice, tasty delicious as they should be. I went with the Mega Burrito. A bloated over stuffed flour tortilla filled with equal amounts of beans, rice, fajita beef, cheese and a little lettuce. The burrito was covered in queso. Excellent! This place probably rocked in the old days. The parking lot being full of oilfield worker's trucks at noon during the week and family cars on the weekend. Currently its ranking as the "Best Mexican Food in Yale" is unchallenged. The food is served on hot plates, properly prepared and good portions. The service is friendly and the restaurant is relatively clean, but noticeably warn. We ordered one of the combination plates, a relleno and a beef enchilada. On their own both were good; but the red sauce on the meal didn't work. Closer in taste to marinara spaghetti sauce than anything Mexican. The salsa served with the chips was similar in taste. Very mild, oregano flavor prominent. When we ordered, the young man offered three options: white queso, yellow queso or red sauce. We asked about the red sauce. He described it as "like chili. Nope, it is more like spaghetti sauce. The beans and rice were good. Underneath the sauce, was a nice big, fresh poblano, filled with cheese, battered and fried, accompanied with a mildly seasoned, beef filled enchilada. My recommendation, order queso on anything that comes with a sauce. It will be very mild, but better than the spaghetti sauce. If you are a person that finds a Tic Tac to be a little too spicy; you'll love the mild salsa.

The men that operated the equipment are long gone, as is the wealth they made from the effort. Two cop cars sitting in the burned-out corner convenience store parking lot. Officers talking to each other to keep from falling asleep from the boredom. Even the Dollar General appears to be barely making it; similar to the cell phone service that fades in and out, almost nonexistent. Traffic delays from road construction on the edge of town, forces life to slow down even more. Welcome to Hominy Oklahoma. In a town by this name, you would think the Mexican restaurant would have Pozole. Nope. Los Tres Hermanos makes up for it though with a great small town OkieMex menu covering just about everything else. The service was acceptable. Some of the food items were exceptional. Those will be emphasized. Check the pictures. The meals are identified there. The red salsa was good. The green salsa was spectacular. Fresh tomatillos, jalapenos, onion, cilantro and other spices, blended to perfection. Pick out a spoon shaped chip and fill it to capacity. Delicious. Next up the perfect crispy, flavorful carnitas in the enchiladas. These were done right and then covered with a tangy green sauce. An unbeatable combination. I ordered my enchiladas with half green sauce and half chili. The chili was very good. If they sell it by the bowl, get it. Everything else on the plate was fresh and mildly seasoned. My only criticism was the temperature of the food and plates. They were properly warm, but they needed to spend more time in the broiler. The cheese on my wife's enchiladas needed more time in the heat, as did the cheese filling in my enchiladas. The carnitas filled enchiladas, with the green sauce, is the winning meal here. For a perfect start to the meal, ask for the green salsa to scoop up with the crispy chips.
