I love finding little gold nuggets of treasure like this just off the high street where so many seem to rarely stray. Just around the corner from Fulham Broadway station, this little Spanish paradise seems a world away. On a lazy, sunny Sunday afternoon El Metro was a perfect treat. Since the weather was so nice we sat on the patio, though as an added touch they provide lap blankets and a standing heater for the ever unpredictable English weather. Immediately we noticed that there seemed to be an unending stream of Spanish locals stopping by to chat with the staff. It made for a wonderfully friendly atmosphere. My husband ordered a few tapas including chorizo, shrimp, chicken and squid. I ordered patatas bravas and chicken con chorizo. My main didn't come out until after the tapas came out (slight misunderstanding with the waitress...most likely my fault for my obsessive need for special requests) so I was FULL from nibbles off of his plentiful tapas before my dish even came out. Then when my main came out shortly after, it was gargantuan! It was nearly half a chicken on a big pillow of rice topped with a fresh tomato sauce. There wasn't as much chorizo as I thought but that was actually okay as I'd eaten half of my husband's. I made a good effort of it but in the end they assumed I didn't like it because there was still so much left. I hate wasting food so next time I'll know and now you have been warned. In fact we were both so stuffed that didn't even eat dinner that night after a having this delicious and hearty meal. In the end our meal cost about £51 for the two of us, but the next time we know not to order nearly as much food. I can't wait to go back with a bunch of friends to share some sangria (which I didn't have but looked amazing) and savoury dishes!

Great service and food. -- Croquetas, tortilla and jamón were fantastic. Lots of options on the menu.

It's a beautiful restaurant that's ideally situated next to the theatre district. 2. Menu is very interesting and full of unique items that are rare to find on traditional restaurant menus. It's also quite good for vegetarians (3 mains and 3 apps are fully vegetarian). 3. Service was quite good. Our server was quite attentive, helpful, and gave us excellent recommendations. The chef's assistant also came out a few times to say Hi and even brought us complimentary coffee at the end. 4. Price is incredibly good for the kind of food, experience, service, and location you're in. Two of us had two appetizers, two mains, 1 dessert, and a carafe of wine for £80 (incl. service)! 5. Finally -- the food. Explosions of flavor, unique textures, and interesting preparations all combine to make this a wonderful experience. I had memories of eating in San Sebastian at Michelin star restaurants...highly recommended for 1/5 of the price! Check out the pictures to see some of the things we got. I would highly recommend the "Traditional Talo" and "Arraultzak". The "Arroz de Setas" was also awesome, but a bit salty for my taste. We got an excellent Rioja to go with the food which was perfect. For dessert, the salted caramel is a no-brainer!

The manager here was incredibly kind and managed to seat me between reservations anyway, which I truly appreciated. Unfortunately, I didn't quite finish my meal in time before the next party arrived, but instead of rushing me, they graciously moved me to the bar so I could enjoy my dessert. What really struck me was the atmosphere. While I was sitting there, several people popped in just to say hello to the staff, which speaks volumes about how welcoming and family-esque this place feels. Hands down some of the best wait staff I've experienced. The food was fantastic. I had the ham croquettes, white wine, and churros with chocolate and having just been in Barcelona recently, I can honestly say this was the closest I've found to authentic tapas in London. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in London. A gem of a place with heart, hospitality, and incredible food.

A glass of wine each, lemon tart, coffee. Not cheap at £142 inc tip, but that's London for you...and I do hate paying for still water! This is going to be another good review. I must be going soft…read more Harris' Tapas bar can be found in the Old Town district of Hastings. In general, the Old Town area of Hastings is far more pleasant than Regular Town, sporting better pubs, better restaurants and (sometimes) better people! Harris' fits nicely into this scheme. Our trip to Harris' followed an afternoon of drinking which, I hear you say, should really end with a curry, not Tapas, however as we were feeling a little bit experimental, and I had never been, we decided to go for it. They have a pretty standard tapas menu with most dishes costing between £3.50 and £6. We opted for the 'Feast for two' for £25 which works out as quite a money saver. You get more than enough for two people and includes meat, fish and vegetable dishes. The service was good, in fact, we were there about twenty minutes before it opened, but they still let us in, thankfully, as it packed out very quickly. I would comment on the drinks selection, however due to excessive intoxication, i cannot remember any of it. Saying, 'Wine' repeatedly rings a bell, then hearing the word, 'White?', then nodding, is how that part of the meal went down. All in all, a very good experience.

The location is perfect, just in the old town near to some of the town's best bars. I'd definitely advise that you book ahead as this place gets really busy at the weekend. Go for the set menu of tapas for two to share to get the variety. The seafood dishes are fab.
