Located conveniently in the corner of when you enter the popular tourist street in the city center. This place was excellent. The margaritas were SO good and the pescado (fish) tacos I got were amazing. They also put double fish in per taco compared to most other places so they were pretty filling. My wife also said her meal was one of the best lunches she's had in a while - I think it was the combinacion plate. People working there are friendly so the service was great as well. Additionally, when we went it was a Sunday and there was a woman singing outdoor on the patio and she was great. Really good voice and people (locals) kept going up to her / saying hi which I thought was neat because it made Ensenada feel like a small town. Also worth noting, unlike the shops around us that charged us at unfavorable rates, our server (proactively) charged us in MXN Pesos which saved us a few bucks and was super appreciated. Inside is cute, like a little Cafe. My husband had an omelet that had carne en su jugo, chorizo and chicharron. He loved it especially that it comes with your choice of made to order corn or flour tortillas. I had a cup of their white menudo and it was so yummy. Reminded me of the way my aunt made hers. First off it was a beautiful day in Mexico. So of course sitting outside was key. The service wonderful and took good care of us. Yum! If you're in the port area, this is the easiest brunch spot to walk to and it's delicious! I had the huevos divorciados, which was sooo good and my husband got the chiliquiles with chicken. This is the first time I mention restrooms in a review, but I have to say it because I am very picky about that. El Mesón has the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen in Ensenada. It's all about the tortillas. This place has handmade corn and flour tortillas. The tortillas taste so good you cannot go wrong ordering flour or corn tortillas. The chips and salsa are good. The salsa has a kick to it, but not too bad. Their coffee is ok (tastes like cheap nestle). The frappe mocha is ok (VERY sweet). The rice and beans were cooked well and tasted good. Looking for some food before heading back to our cruise and the lady making tortillas up front caught our eye. The smell was to die for and it was packed so we decided to eat here. It was a pleasant atmosphere and there was live music which made it even better. We were given little corn cakes, they were so good. We both got the chilaquiles with red sauce, one had beef. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious! This was by far the best meal we had in Ensenada. We shared a molcajete de carnes, which was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The meat was so tender, and we especially loved the chorizo and arrachera. The frijoles were tasty, and the melted cheese in the molcajete was incredible -- so flavorful with a perfect cheese pull! We were told that both the corn and flour tortillas were handmade, and you could definitely taste the difference -- they were fantastic. The service was excellent, and we enjoyed sitting outside with live music that added to the great ambiance. There was a lady making homemade flour tortillas outside, which caught my eye. So, we recently tried out this restaurant. I ordered huevos divorciados and coffee. My husband ordered eggs with ham and fresh-squeezed orange juice, which was delicious. Both of our meals were great! They gave us little corn muffins with jam before our food arrived. We went to brunch here on a Sunday and it was delicious! Everyone in our party was pleased, David was our server. White Menudo- the husband was in heaven. It was a generous portion with fixing on the side. Beef Machaca with scrambled eggs- this was amazing! Crispy beef, excellent flavors. Side of delicious beans and potatoes. The flour tortillas were made fresh and were fantastic. Huevos Rancheros a friend said we're very good as well. She got pancakes on the side and said they were cooked to perfection and a little sweet. We had a bloody mary and bloody maria that were also very good. We found this really cute restaurant on our walk through Ensenada coming from our Carnival cruise. There happened to be a parade in the street outside, we we sat under the covered patio area outside and watched the parade. We had wonderful service and delicious fish tacos. We ordered guacamole and chips as well. The guacamole was freshly made and the fish was from the local fish market. The restrooms here are very clean and nice. Decent place to take a load off, have some drinks, and watch some matches. Hoofed it all over town trying to find an ATM, finally gave up (until the next morning) and decided to park ourselves here and drink. This is a very nice restaurant by the main tourist area in Ensenada, around you can find pharmacies and souvenirs stores, this restaurant specializes in Italian Cuisine however they have seafood options as well, the waitress are nice, friendly and attentive and the food is really good, we ordered wrapped salmon and lobster, and they were really tasty and the portions enough! I order the molcajete plate with the meats which had chicken and beef, cheese and nopales with peppers. Honestly my carne asada was somewhat salty, the chicken was dry not juicy. The beans and guacamole were good no complaints. I also tried one fish taco and it was good. My michelada was ok maybe needed a little salt the one that the carne asada had lol but I had a great experience at this restaurant. Avoid this place! We planned on coming over here for dinner because we saw this place driving by the day before and we thought it was pretty. The worst mistake ever!!! This was the worse place we ate in Ensenada, i ordered a steak but got a rubber sandals for steak. The meat smelled and tasted like nothing. The chef instead of fixing the problem claimed there was nothing wrong with it and sent it back. I left the steak. Horrible cook the so called chef of cheap Mexican food. You are better off buying Mexican food at the corner stand, better taste for sure. Great service personnel but horrible kitchen and disastrous chef. Eat somewhere else. read more
