Had to pickup a package in Auburn. Recently, we have had a Mexican food cravings that we are trying to satisfy. Marinated beef Carne asada has been our choice. Last week , we drove around Renton and Maple valley looking for marinated Mexican style beef. Found two super markets that sold the fresh meat and bought some to sample for the best in the area. So since we were in the area we remember a Latin market we visited several years ago and wanted to try there offerings. Bought a pound and one half to try. Also got some fresh looking tomatillos and peppers to make chille verde with chicken/pork. They also have small restaurant inside where you can sit down or takeout some authentic Mexican food. We'll need to try the food next time we are in the area cause we are headed to the casino for a late lunch. read more

I had a lash appt at Peter's Salon and I thought I'd check this place out afterwards, I was so happy I did. I went straight for the restaurant area and ordered 2 chile rellenos to-go and a cold pineapple juice. It was perfect! Especially since I had to run errands that day and I forgot to bring my water bottle, this juice saved me!! The chile rellenos were really savory, the beans and rice portion was smaller then what I'm used to seeing from other restaurants like Puerto Vallarta or Moctezumas but the flavor was there and honestly I shouldn't be eating a bunch of carbs anyways :p Great options and close to home so I'm definitely gonna come here again. read more

Expired food, rotten smells, and floors that you can barely lift your feet off of due to the stickiness. Those described things above still aren't as bad as the owners' customer service. The female owner is rude and flat out disrespectful. The older male owner is aggressive. You will not find anything here except an illness. With family pictures coming up and needing specific items so we can all match it turned into a long and tiring day at the mall and traffic to get home was bad. Everything in the food court was overpriced and nothing sounded good. So driving we originally were going to go to frugals but the line was insanely long and then I saw El Mercado and I was happy because I always want Mexican food. This place is a little supermarket that has a butcher, traditional pastries, produce and many more items and in the back theres a little kitchen cranking out some Mexican specialities from tacos to burritos and Tortas and desserts as well. We were hungry but the wait wasn't long. We got our son a quesadilla they were out of fries so he went with beans as a side instead and he demolished his plate. My husband went with the Cali burrito and I went with the torta with carne asada and we shared a cantaloupe aqua Fresca which was so refreshing and delicious. Both the torta and burrito came with salsa, mine was a red salsa and my husbands was green it had a creamy smooth consistency with a kick- very good. Mangoneada terrible, it was a thick syrup in ice with mango fruit on top. It was not blended at all. I asked why it wasn't a blended smoothie they said I didn't order a smoothie. This review is for the restaurant AND the store. First, the tacos were absolutely delicious and a great mix of salsas to go with! The store has good prices and a good diverse selection of everything Latin product wise. Great little grocery store. Came in while we were trying to stop by Joanns but they were packed so decided to do our grocery shopping here. Has a bunch of fresh vegetables, meat counter in the back, restaurant on the side (That makes a deliciously spicy and creamy salsa verde). Their meat and bones of course is the variety and Latin/Spanish goods including some fresh panaderias towards the front counter. Cost was low (I swear I pay at least 1.5x more at Safeway or Fred Meyers). Support a local business and shop here if you can. read more

Please don't go to this store, so I went to buy pork meat, I ordered 8lbs, when I went to the register to pay, because the bag was a little heavy I kind of made a hole with my fingers so a nasty, rotten smell came out of the bag, it was the meat, I told the cashier about this she said that she can't smell nothing so she asked the other girl and she agreed with me so she went back to the meat department to ask if they have fresh meat not rotten and they said no, the meat department people saying that they don't have fresh meat. My big big big disappointment is that the person at the meat department (it was a women) knew that the meat was bad, they don't have heart they don't care if people get sick, they don't have brains, how come they sell bad meat, I think they (owners) only worried about making money. I came in for one thing, a mangoneada. I did not have to wait too long. Once she was done with the order before mine, she helped me right away. She was very nice! I had no issues with any of the workers. The taste of the mangoneada was diff from what I've had at other places which I didn't like it, that is the only reason why I'm eating a 4 out of 5. read more

My husband and I read the reviews and were a little afraid of shopping here but a friend recommended this store so we braved it. We also had our 2 little ones with us. We came looking for skirt steak to make authentic carne asada which we got and was cheaper then the butcher we currently go to AND it was seasoned so we are excited to try it. This is the worst place I have ever been to. If I can give them 0 stars I would. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever had. They have given me rotten cheese/meat and every time I would take it back they would just get so mad and tell me they won't be doing this again. This review is about the Restaurant itself. My wife had two of their chicken street tacos. I had their asada Torta.. The Tacos were moist and delicious. Wife topped hers with some of their medium spiced sauce and some lime. My Torta- Steak sandwich- was wonderful. The bread was just made. The meat was very flavorful. The over all experience was pleasant. I'm just not used to seeing other patrons getting drunk off red beers while I eat at a smaller eat in dinner. Without this my experience was pleasant and the food is worth coming back to. Only advice for others is.. Don't come here expecting to be greeting at the door. This place has amazing burritos at their restaurant!! It is my favorite place to stop by when I am driving home to Seattle from crystal mountain. After a long day of snowboarding and driving, it's nice to stop by this place that has an authentic feel, great tasting food for cheap prices, huge burritos, and great salsa. I've taken 5 or so friends with me separate times, and each of them loved it. Trust me, try a burrito there sometime! Authentic Mexican food! First, let's talk about the ambiance. This eatery is actually located inside of a tiny grocery store. It's rough-looking, everything is in Spanish, and the grocery shelves look rickety and untrustworthy. The "dining area" is a collection of mismatched furniture set off to the side of the store with Mexican soap operas blaring from overhead televisions. This place is the pinnacle of sketchy eats. That said, the food is awesome. Authentic tamales, empanadas, enchiladas, tacos, (the good tiny kind with questionable meat) and a daily special that runs the gamut from chile rellano to carnitas. Be prepared to speak Spanish if you come here. Anyway, this place is your typical Mexican grocery store. They have a small produce section with cactus and jicama and a nice variety of peppers. Standard stuff. Their spicd selection is on point tho. i don't know what you even use half of the spices in there for..i've really only messed with that goya sazon spice. Achiote and culantro. This place has huge bags of dried peppers. A bunch of different kinds. Their meat counter is pretty impressive. In addition to having regularcuts of beef, pork, chicken, etc. (they also have tongue), there are sections where they have prepared adovada, carne asada, res al pastor, and things of that nature. They make two kinds of chorizo in house too. I've tried both and they are on point. Legit. There is a taqueria attached to this place too. So if you just want to stop in for a meal they offer standard fare there too. Tamales, tacos, empanadas. You can even get a beer if you want. I Have been coming here for a while, today was the last time I set foot in that place. I waited over a half hour with my 4yr old and they forgot my order. I mentioned it to them and it was like no big deal. I saw people ordering after me come and go.
