While I usually love their food, I sent my friend over there today to pickup food for his lunch my treat. When he gets in the man in front of him finishes ordering and he goes to order and the lady refused to speak to him and was looking at him with disgust. The man behind my friend asks if he can order and she puts a smile on her face and allows him to order. I find it interesting that a mexican restaurant refused to serve my friend who happened to be the only black man in the building at the time. He tried multiple times and they wouldnt let him order. He doesnt look homeless and is actually in really nice work clothes. This happened around 130 pm on 02/07/26. Its utterly disgusting to me. I called trying to speak to a manager or the owner and they kept passing me around until eventually they told me that the manager isnt in and isnt going to be in today. read more

I do not typically go for Americanized Mexican. I do love traditional Latin dishes and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and spices at Memo's. My go to is the beef chimichanga combo which consists of a huge chimichanga, filled with seasoned roast beef that has been stewing in herbs and spices. The beef is as tender as any Sunday roast made with love by abuelita. The filling is just the perfect amount of meat, onions, tomatoes and spices. The flour tortilla is fried crispy then layered with sour cream and guacamole. The chimichanga is sitting atop a bed of shredded lettuce and Pico. The chimichanga combo comes with seasoned rice and refried beans which are also very well seasoned. The rice has corn and carrots in it adding a little texture. The refried beans have just a tiny bit of shredded cheese on top. The perfect addition to this combo is the hot picante salsa. Picante is defined by me as a runny blended tomato or tomatillo with some peppers for a kick of heat. They have 2 picante sauces that come with the meal. I have never been a fan of tomatillo or salsa Verde, so I skipped that one. However the picante roja.. perfect balance of heat and slow burning topping to my chimichanga. The meal without the picante Roja was already an amazing 8 but the red hot picante sauce.. made this a 9 out of a perfect 10 for me. I have just been in Auburn for 2 months and I am already addicted. Don't let this unassuming little Mexican American restaurant fool you by its exterior. There is a reason there is always a line. Get in line early. My only complaint is the drive thru area is very tight. My Silverado pick up always ended up hitting it's wheels on the raised boundaries of the barrier defining drive thru.. One other complaint is that the 4th time I visited this location, the credit machine was down. The signage stating that the machine was down was on the ordering menu which meant you had to get in line. Unfortunately if you were in line.. you are trapped and have to wait even though you didn't order. I recommend putting the notice of credit card machines down and cash only somewhere before you turned into the drive thru line. The parking lot can be a nightmare when dinner or lunch rush is upon us. read more

It doesn't care about how many days there is in a week, its working all year round, a week might as well be 15 days long, Memo's doesn't even care, it gets 1 extra star for the work ethic. It's always open, there are always people here, and the drive through always has a line. Menu is not too difficult to read, drive through lady is awesome, she will include some pickled vegetables with your order if you ask, and she will accept tips. The food is okay. Most of the time, the taste is forgettable but the portion is big. Most of memo's food options lean towards hardy, I'm not always able to finish a burrito, a problem I never have with Taco bell. And If you frequent it enough, you'll have an upset stomach every once awhile; at which rate its just part of Memo's charm If its late, you're near by and hungry, come to Memo's. read more

My husband introduced me to Memo's because it was good mexican food like from where we used to live, which is Southern California. He loves a good burrito & this is his place to go! I love enchiladas & their enchilada sauce is excellent...I could drink it! Good enchilada sauce makes the enchilada. The only problem I've had everytime I order is that the cheese in the cheese enchilada is never melted enough even though I ask them to please put it under the heat for longer. The Drive Thru line was back to the street which can mean it's a slow process Or it's popular. In this case It Is Popular !!! Inside the line moved swiftly, great service and fast. A very clean establishment. The tables were clean, the counter was clean, the rest rooms were clean, it was a nice place to have dinner. So many of my friends have talked about how good Memos is, so we were finally in the area for meal time and decided to make our way over. First thing I noticed when I walked in the building was the strange smell. It kind of smelled of bad breath or something. I had to mouth breath for the rest of the time because I did not like the smell that much. We ordered our food, and it was done by the time we had filled our drink cups. So, super fast on that front. The food was pretty good. Carne Asada fries and the chimichanga. My only complaint was that the chimi got pretty soggy, and that they put the sour cream on half the chimi and the guac on the other half. I would prefer them to put it on both halves. Okay, so I ordered it online A. Chicken chimichanga requested it to be deep fried, and cheese put on top. And I ordered some fries. And I ordered some cinnamon crispy dessert thing. And I ordered two pineapple sodas. This came out to about $29 i picked my order up on my 21 speed road back to my R. V opened it up, opened up the chimichanga container. Took a fork, stuck it in there. Cut part of it open and I could tell right off the top that it wasn't deep fried for no more than maybe a minute, if that the inside of the shell was soggy and gooey. Wet slimy tortilla shell on the inside and was cold in the middle of nothing but shredded chicken that wasn't grilled or seasoned on top of it was this white sauce didn't resemble anything close to sour cream. And there was shredded cheese. I took a bite and the slimy tortilla shell was to much for me. So then I tried some french fries and they were cold, and the fries tasted like they had been freezer burnt. Okay. So now I look in my bag for the cinnamon crisps that I ordered with it, and they weren't in there. I opened up one of the sodas and took a sip and realized how angry I was and how hungry I was. So I got it on my bike and I rode back to memos, and I put it on the counter and said, no, bueno. I assumed they were preparing me another meal as I was sitting there waiting. I heard somebody snort through their nose, really loud and and then hawk up a lung cookie as I sat there listening to them laugh I got very angry and grabbed my bike and left. I forgot to mention that while I was returning the food to the counter. Explaining to them, what was wrong with it? They were laughing.They thought it was funny. I didn't think it was funny at all. Especially after I just paid almost $30 for my dinner and now I'm sitting here hungry with no more money, and I'm not going to take the food that they just made for me after hearing somebody making the sound like they snorted. Snot through their nose and then spit into something. While they were laughing, couple different guys back there, so I'm done with my review. I'm never going to memos again. And now I have 2 sit here and be hungry because I don't have any more money. Thanks memos. I'm glad that all you people in that restaurant thought that this was funny and that you were laughing and spitting in my food that you were making or whatever it is you were doing, but at this point I would not accept any food from you guys ever again, no matter what and to put the money. I ordered the carne asada fries and the portion was HUGE. The need is a little on the dry side but I guess eating it with the sauces help it a lot. The portion is more than enough for one person too. While ordering through drive thru, the person on the other end just took our order and said nothing else, not telling us our total or to pull up to the front. So that was a downside, but nothing that changes my mind about the food. However I don't like you guys keep advertising menudo 7 days a week with grano . I've ordered it during the week and did not get any grano at all . Visited here for the late night food since they open 24hrs. Compare to those restaurants they open 24hours, better quality food. Carne Asada fries were just so good and large portion for just $7.50. I couldn't finished at once. Also the chicken fajita was fresh and hot, and also the portion was large. I also ordered beef taco with corn tortilla, I liked how the tortilla was freshly deep fried and has lots of stuffings but it was too much of oil from the shell and the meat. It was dripping.
