This has been my favorite grocery store for years, and I've always enjoyed shopping here. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been completely different. The new staff have made the atmosphere feel unwelcoming. They have been rude, unfriendly, and at times openly hostile. During my last visit, the employee assisting at the self-checkout was dismissive and confrontational. I never asked to speak with a manager, the employee called one instead. The manager took about 12 minutes to arrive, casually stopping to chat with other customers along the way. When she finally came over, she didn't give me an opportunity to explain my concerns. Instead, she was dismissive while walking away. I pointed out that several self-checkout stations had no bags available, and she responded with what felt like sarcastic laughter, giving the impression that she simply didn't care about the condition of the store or the customer experience. Rather than addressing the issue, she shifted the conversation and suggested that my complaint was somehow related to misogyny because she was a woman. That had absolutely nothing to do with my concern. My complaint was about poor customer service, a lack of basic supplies at the checkout, and the dismissive attitude I encountered from both the employee and the manager. It's disappointing to see a store I once enjoyed decline so much. With so many grocery stores competing for customers, treating loyal shoppers this way is a sure way to drive them elsewhere. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve the customer experience. read more

If you want to use the grocery pick-up you need to have in your bank account the amount you spend on groceries, say.. a hundred bucks, then the purchase pre-authorization temporary hold fee, another hundred bucks, and then since the authorization fee can take three to five days to clear your account you're gonna need another hundred bucks to pay those other things you need like gas and utility bills while you wait for the store to rellease the hold on your pre-authorization fee which hangs in your account as pending. For three to five days. Business days. It SUCKS! I do understand the need to verify funds. They seem to charge my account for the groceries on the same day no problem Why three to five business days for a fee thats being withdrawn into an untouchable pending state from the same computer system? I can't use the pick-up service again. Boo! read more

I stopped by on a Tuesday around 6:40 PM for bananas, a rotisserie chicken, sparkling water, and paper towels which should have been a quick in & out trip and of course was not. There were three carts ahead of me in line but the checkout moved pretty quickly, and the store looked clean overall, especially produce and the front end. That alone puts it ahead of a lot of rushed grocery runs. What I appreciated here was they have pretty much everything. When I have my daughter and my son and I am trying to solve dinner, lunches, and whatever random household thing we somehow ran out of all at once, the last thing I want is three separate errands in three separate parking lots. This handled it. I went in for dinner stuff and the basics, and naturally left with at least one thing I had not planned on buying, which is just Fred Meyer being Fred Meyer. If your website says you have a product in stock, why can't I find it on your shelves? It would be nice if your signage actually corresponded to where products have been placed in your store. In particular, frozen breads are more than half an aisle away from where the overhead signage indicates they should be found. The only reason I generously gave you two stars is that the checkout clerk was extra helpful, and one of your cart valets collected my cart right after I had loaded my groceries into my vehicle, so that I didn't have to walk it over to a cart corral. As a senior citizen with mobility issues, this was much appreciated. read more

I was getting one single can of four Loco and then Coke and energy drink this lady at the self checkout said you need a six pack. You can't buy a single can so I just left went to the gas station instead I'm never buying alcohol there ever again when your employee has a bad attitude, so this is a complaint All I want is one single can of Four Loko but no the self checkout lady said I need to buy in a six pack not just one I've done this before I've bought a single can from you guys store before and no problem until yourself check out lady. TLDR/ Price: Decent, Service: Friendly, Verdict: Go for it! Solid place to buy gas! Much less expensive than other places in Auburn. I love how well lit the pumps are for night time and the attendant is always pleasant. The area around the pumps is generally clean and free of hazards. Thanks Fred Meyer for being a bit of nice in a day of dreary. The deli is usually understaffed but the workers are competent and pleasant. The produce area is usually clean and dry. The workers are knowledgeable and willing to help you out when you are looking for something specific. The isles are wide enough to pass by another customer with a cart without issue. The store displays are tasteful and generally family friendly. I have always enjoyed coming here since moving to Auburn. The employees all seem to enjoy their jobs and usually have a smile on their face or a good word in greeting. If you are looking for flaws, sure there are some, but what grocery store is perfect. I like this Fred Meyer and they do s good job of keeping their store looking good, despite the growing drug and homelessness problems plaguing the area. It you want a good experience where you leave feeling like you have gotten your money's worth while still having the extra touches of a nicer supermarket, then this is as good as it gets in Auburn. read more

She was very helpful at the deli and gave us extra thighs since the pieces were kind of small for getting 16 pieces. Got some chips and checked out right there, on the spot. I have been going to this Fred Meyer since 1991, back then it was a great place to shop. . . All 15 cash registers were occupied by friendly qualified cashiers. Today you're going to deal with the typical mute gen-z syndrome and only one or two cash registers open. The bums and meth heads roaming the store is just part of the scenery these days. After 34 years of shopping here, they need armed guards to check my receipts when I'm leaving the store :-( read more

I am referring to the Pharmacy. I had a prescription sent in to Fred Meyer Pharmacy in Auburn Washington. I received a call from the Pharmacy stating that the prescription was not covered by my insurance and that Prior Authorization is needed. However, my providers phone number was incorrect and that I needed to give them the number or call my provider to have that provider contact the Pharmacy. I have no issue with calling pharmacy to give the providers correct phone and fax number. I called and I was put on hold. Which I do not have a problem with, I understand they are busy. I was on hold for 35 minutes. 10 minutes into the call a pharmacy person answered said " pharmacy please hold." Ok, no problem. I then waited and customer service answered and sent me back to the pharmacy. This went on several times. The nice lady at customer service apologized and stated she has paged over head multiple times and even had her manager walk over and ask them to pick up the phone. There had been multiple calls to the Pharmacy and the Pharmacy is just plain ignoring calls. SHAME ON FRED MEYER/KROGER COMPANY for working the staff like that. I understand being busy and short staffed, I too am a health care worker. How toxic it must be to work there. I have decided to take my prescriptions to a different Pharmacy. My husband and I come here and we haven't had any issues it's our go to grocery store and pharmacy has been efficient.

Customers shopping at this Fred Meyer location, as well as employees working there, have already seen the negative changes at this location. Months ago, this location got a new HR employee whom was transferred from another store; she was so evil that Kroger Corporate Ethics & Complaints Department higher-ups flew down to intervene. I am one of the many she made their lives a living Hell. Things are not going to get any better as long as she's there. Also beware of a brand new young Asian pharmacist; if she happens started working there around the same time, she's HR little pet and will report back every personal conversation you'll divulge, especially if you're an employee. Customers will eventually recognize her rude demeanor towards customers and employees. read more

When it comes to Freddy's Auburn has a different selection of several of my favourite items and I like to come here with those items in mind. I have not had a bad experience in this Fred Meyer, except for at the Starbucks in this location. There is one older employee who looks miserable all day every time I am in there. She is also incredibly rude and clearly has little Starbucks experience and training. She makes me not want to spend my money there and that is the opposite of what a barista should do. First of all, it is the most expensive store around with the rudest people. I just moved in and went there because it is just across the parking lot. I took some coins down and ran it through coinstar. It jammed and the person that was fixing it told me to shop and come back to Customer Service to pick up my ticket. I did so, a week later I went to use it and they said they could not give me the money because you have to cash it the same day. The only thing on the front and back said "Redeem today with any cashier at the store" It does not say, you have to redeem it today. They renovated the inside but did not update the entrances/exits. Other Fred meyers have automatic doors and are taller and bigger but this one has 1 automatic door and the rest is a push/pull which would be fine if they had more of them. Even though they renovated just getting inside feels too claustrophobic cuz the entrances are small. Also the parking lot is dimly lit. I wish they could just make it more inviting and feel safer especially since it gets dark around 4pm and it rains all the time. read more

Let's start with I remember when the west entrance was still open near the shoe department and being dropped off at the on site "daycare". After moving out of state for a few years and coming back I enjoy shopping at a Kroger store, good selection of items... produce always looks and is great. 80% of the staff is top notch. The bad? Not a fan of every clothing item locked up... feel like this will go away over time when they realize that nobody wants to shop or browse in a store with every item locked up. Until shoplifting laws are properly enforced sure it will stay this way. Also the outside of the store, poor lighting causes traffic/safety issues and let's also face it this is about the only business in Auburn that looks exactly the same outside since the 1990s. Pretty sure the lighting in the letters facing Auburn way has been off or burnt out my entire life... Just a bit of improvement would go a long way, deter people littering, nice properly lit parking lot, more then one automatic door for the only entrance open the vast majority of the time. I have been shopping at Fred Meyer for many years. Just recently I went to FM to shop my weekly trip. At check out I asked for 20 dollars cash back and I was charged .75 cents. I was MAD! How'd you justify charging anything for pushing a button to open drawer and pull out a 20 dollar bill and hand it to me?? Why?Do you not make enough money? Did some impulse buying here randomly, and it was pretty average. My time there was spent orienting myself to this store's funky layout. After waiting a few minutes for some help with bicycle, they helped me to the front and made sure I had everything needed. The checkout wasn't very quick, especially for a slow period, but I've come to expect that at Fred Meyer these days. This isn't a store I'm going out of my way to get to because there is really nothing special here. The parking lot is also somewhat confusing, and there are few transit options here. It is still a Fred Meyer though, and it has all the normal Fred Meyer things. read more

Went to buy boots and work pants, all pants and work shirts are locked up and have fun trying to find an associate to unlock it. No price tags on any socks as well as some pants and shirts. The attitude of employees here is ridiculous. The only person who had a great sense of work ethic was the girl running the meat and cheese counter. I've always had a great experience at Fred meyer in general. I came to do a instacart order and for one there was a woman stocking next to the deli and didn't care to let me pass through. She looked at me struggling to make my way around her mess of boxes and didn't even acknowledge the fact. The the produce guy also had a horrible attitude after I asked him to clarify what potatoes were on display because the tag didn't make sense. Then we get to Michelle. Right off the bay she had a smug floor on her face. She was quickly bothered when I told her it was a instacart order. She was bothered by every step from the scanning of the customers rewards card in my app to the fact that I needed to pay for some items myself in a new transaction. My recent visit Friday 6/4 morning approximately 7:30 AM I was very disappointed in the lack of customer service. The only two standouts were Hanging Deli and Service Fish, all other employees ignored my requests for assistance a large number of them had headphones in making it near impossible for me to even get their attention. It is very convenient for me to go to this Fred Meyers but the problem is that the cashiers really need to pay attention on what they are scanning and how many items. I have been getting charge double for my single items plenty of times. They tend to over stuff the plastic bag and gets heavy and it rips. Last time I bought 2 gallons of milk and the lady decided she could put two jugs of 1 gallon milk in one bag and guess what it ripped open before I even made it to my front door. They also stuff the bag with a candle in it and bag fell apart and broke my candle. They tend to have an attitude when you ask for it to be double bag. People here just tend to have an attitude. Also when we were looking for stuff and ask one of the employees "she looked dumbfounded" stocking one of the aisle and said Oh this isn't my area can go ask someone else! One of the cashiers put the Kaboom Spray bottle and the Kaboom Foam and my Orange juice all in ONE BAG!! The bathrooms are horrible. I really don't think I will be coming back here. read more

Me & an employee and medical response helped save an elder lady. It was either December 2010 or January 2011 in the evening I was driving through the fred Meyers parking lot in a white Ford explorer as I saw an elder lady had fallen face first into the 2 foot high pooky bush. Everyone was just standing around, so I parked my car and put my emergency lights on. As I got to the lady I saw an employee with an apron on so I instruct him to contact 911 emergency. If there someone that has fallen the rule not to move their body, but she was stuck in the uncomfortable position inside the Bush, so with some help with some other good Samaritans rolled her over on to the flat ground and she had some blood on her face. I left before the ambulance arrived. This story is because I want people to move out the way when you see flashing emergency lights and sirens. I have been driving around Seattle and many times I have seen vehicles that just don't no how to respond to an emergency. They need to learn to park to the right side or a safe area so the first responders could pass them safely. read more

Why is FRED MEYER allowing 3rd party vendors to solicit gas station customers as we are PUMPING OUR GAS? This is a vulnerable position to be in - to be solicited at the pump with the store's authorization. It's alarming that FRED MEYER would expect female customers to accept being solicited outside the store after dark. Do they seriously expect women to make a purchase from a non-FRED MEYER employee after sundown (which occurs around 4:30 pm) as they pump gas? It's ironic that FRED MEYER cashiers are locked in a booth as THEY handle money transactions!! This new policy shows a lack of concern for the overall well-being of FRED MEYER customers, especially women. I am suggesting that all 3rd party solicitors be positioned INSIDE the store, in the foyer, where it is apparent they are authorized by FRED MEYER so customers can feel safe while being solicited. read more

Oh Auburn Fred Meyers....I have been coming here for years due to it being the closest grocery store to my job. Unfortunately you'll deal with either drug addicts, senior citizens or solicitors...if you're lucky you'll get all 3 in one visit! I know that due to the drug addicts in this area, the Auburn police tend to come here often, but I hate the feeling of being glared at when walking in the front door. Almost like they're trying to intimidate thieves but in reality their making real customers uncomfortable! Even though I've been shopping here for a decade, I still get the self checkout attendees circling my back and acting like they need to grab a basket right below me. Like Ok are you kidding me right now?? They never have anything in stock and the lady that works in the seafood area ALWAYS has an attitude! They always have someone selling something right by the door that catches you either coming in or out! Like I get that you have to market stuff , but don't force it on me in a way that I have to dodge you the same way I dodge the addicts in your parking lot asking for change While i try to put my cart back.
