I ordered some enchiladas which were not bad. The service could've been better. There weren't many customers and it was still kind of slow. The ambiance was alright except it was kind of cold in there and some ventilation was blowing right on me.

Shrimp quesadilla at lunch. Quesadilla was very cheesy as well.

My mom and I wanted a quick lunch in Moncks Corner one Saturday, and El Maguey was a great choice. I didn't expect a restaurant in Moncks Corner to have such a beautiful interior and bar area, complete with gorgeous lighting fixtures, murals on the wall, and lots of TVs showing the day's football games. The bar had all the spirits as well as frozen drinks, but with a drive back to Charleston later that day, I didn't partake. The warm tortilla chips and salsa had just the right amount of heat, and the servers provided us with enough salsa- both spicy and mild varieties. My mom had the chicken taco loco lunch special, and I had a shrimp quesadilla, which came with a guac salad and rice. The quesadilla was very cheesy with plenty of shrimp. Everything was delicious, and our server checked on us and brought us waters to go. This isn't your typical "greasy" Mexican restaurant, so don't be fooled by the exterior- especially since the parking lot does have some dirt and potholes and needs some repaving and lines. We won't hesitate to return to El Maguey the next time we're in Moncks Corner.

Fantastic food!!! I havent had food this authentic for many many years. Service was superb. The carne tacos, horchata, everything was just sabroso. I'll be back, a lot. Thank you for such a wonderful meal.

Could not pick taco up. Wasted taco. Not all tacos are meant to be ate..Watch the ones with sour cream.

This place used to be our go to when in the area. Something changed. Menu is ridiculous, prices went way up. I know things went up I understand but, this is not worth that kind of money. No kids menu-..I'm not paying 12-17$ for food for a kid that will not eat it. Kids menu is a must have. Period. Taco fell apart. Put on a taco holder or separate plate at least. Food went down hill, food cost went to Biden approved prices. Service was ok, but looked at like I was stupid for asking for kids menu. Salsa was great. Will not be back unless I hear they changed menu & add kids menu. Simple, chicken and fries, cheese quesadilla simple stuff is fine.

    Drink special.

Great service, affordable prices and really good food! This was a Saturday afternoon's looking for a place to eat and we decided to stop in, we were pleasantly surprised and impressed, the drinks came out first and they were delicious, then the food, we shared a sampler plate and it was plenty enough for the both of us. Definitely recommend it.

Once seated, you're provided with warm tortilla chips accompanied by mild salsa and hot salsa. The hosts and our waitress were very friendly and attentive. We visited during lunch time and they had a nice steady flow of customers. The place was quite big and offers a nice size bar to sit at. I ordered the Quesadillas Mexicanas and I loved it (I order quesadilla a lot at various restaurants and these ones are up there in the ranking!). If I'm ever back in this area of SC again, I will definitely re-visit!

Good food- pretty standard Mexican food. Service needed some work (slow and mixed up order), but overall decent.

They have a take-out menu or option to dine-in. As soon as we sat down, they brought homemade chips and salsa which I enjoyed but not too much to fill up before the meal. For drinks they are serve margaritas, beers, teas..I tried the agua fresca hibiscus and my fiancé tried the horchata, both delicious! The menu is simple but packs lots of flavors and proteins. I constantly seek out elote so you know I had to order theirs! I like that they roasted the corn, provided a more robust flavor and the cheese topping I could dip anything with that..was about to lick the plate but stopped myself haha my fiancé got 3 variations of tacos, the flavors were good. They brought out some bottles salsa verde and another kind of hot sauce salsa. I liked their options for tamales, I got mole chicken and another kind of chicken..they're more filling than they look so left with our belly's full and spirits lifted. Tierra Caliente will be on our rotation now, wonderful staff and good food.

Got 3 pastor street tacos and they were huge, loaded with delicious, flavorful meat, and so irresistible I ate all 3 and didn't take a picture! The free chips were thin and crisp, the salsa was super-fresh and not spicy. The housemade hot sauce is thick, loaded with spicy smoked chiles and will hurt you in the best way. I got free cheese dip and it is the best anywhere! Not gloppy, powerful cheese flavor- Monterey Jack? The banderita burrito got rave reviews, and I haven't had my chile poblano yet because I filled up on chips, but it looks amazing! I will consider leaving the house to dine in someday because I know it's even better on-site, and they're definitely in my Ubereats favorites.

We started with chips & salsa and the guacamole which was absolutely fantastic. I also had a huge & delicious margarita! For my entree, I ordered the "combo chico" which was one item of your choice (I picked a chicken taco) with rice & beans. It was a good portion size as I wasn't that hungry after all those chips & dips! We will definitely be back for more ;)
