First time trying the Chicken Fajita Salad, it was very good. Waitress was okay, she only came once to the table after she brought our food. Place was about half full, staff didn't look too busy. Place was fairly quiet which made the experience a bit better especially for my elderly mother. Price was only about $28 for 2 plates.

Margarita

Authentic Tex Mex, served with a smile. Our waitress was too nice -- giving us way too many options for Margaritas. What a great way to start a meal. She was also friendly and helpful. Extensive food choices filled multiple pages on the menu. Clean tables, and a comfortable dining room. The carne with ranchero sauce, served with rice and beans was delicious. Others had enchiladas and fajitas and kept commenting on how good everything tasted. Reasonably priced, this was an excellent choice for dinner after a full work day.

Great TexMex !!! Fajitas Dinner #42

Down in the S Texas brush country is a gem of real home style Mexican food. When the owners make the effort for the food to be as impressive as the decor you know its authenticity good. We went in on a whim but are very impressed by the food. The Fajitas Texans were tender and had that flavor of a well seasoned grill. The green chicken enchiladas had an excellent marinade on the inside and amid but flavorful sauce. The sides! 90% of places te rice and beans are just window dressing. Not here. The rice is like mama's with plenty of veggies and seasoning. The beans have "something" maybe grasa de tocino for real flavor. Stop in, you won't be disappointed.

Burger and fries

The atmosphere was legit I loved how spacious it was and clean. The chips and salsa were complimentary and good. I liked the salsa flavor here! (Green&Red)The waitress was friendly and attentive when she finally came to us. The food did take a while to get out to us but it was fresh. I ordered the burger and fries in which the fries "smacked" it was super good (as a fry person myself.) the burger was okay wasn't too crazy about it but this was a one time stop while In this town and would definitely go back to give another chance if it arose!

Jalisco Burrito Platter

We came here on our way back from Big Bend National Park so we were all tired and hungry. For a restaurant in the middle of nowhere, this place sure hit the spot! I ordered the Jalisco Burrito with fajita style chicken and grilled onions inside. It came with rice, re-fried beans, and quac. Everything was what I expected for a Tex-Mex cuisine - protein and carbs covered under a blanket of yellow gooey cheese. The chips and salsa were ok. Not my favorite but it's something to keep the hunger down before the food came out.

The rice was crunchy, the lettuce was brown, the tomatoes tasted old, and the chicken had this strange mustard flavor that completely ruined the dish. The bread was dry, the tortillas were practically raw, and the "quesadillas" weren't even quesadillas. The only good thing on my plate were the beans, and that's saying a lot. On top of that, there are no vegan options, even though Yelp claimed they did. I asked for vegetable fajitas, and they looked at me like I had two heads, like it was the weirdest request they'd ever heard. They definitely do NOT have vegetarian or vegan options, and they made no effort to accommodate any dietary needs. The asparagus and broccolini came out raw with zero seasoning. Nothing about our meal was enjoyable. If you want actual Mexican food, you're better off going to Taco Bell at this point. The Local Fix definitely did NOT fix us....now I need to go find some real food. Would not recommend this place at all, especially if you have any dietary restrictions.

The outside is deceiving because it looks deceptive but it's a clean beautiful decor inside. Always hopping with great service. Now for the food. I think it has the best variety, value and great tasting food in Uvalde. There is something for everyone. Our favorites are the Monday green chili enchiladas. I've eaten hundreds of green enchiladas over the past 50 years. These are the BEST! Other favorites are stuffed pepper steak which we get the home fries ( delicious) with the small upcharge of queso . This also comes with a side salad to start. Again- one of the best we have ever had. The description of Julio's says barbecue which we only had once and it was great on the tacos. I've never had their breakfast tacos but the drive thru is always busy with the take out tacos. The sandwhiches, chicken fried chicken and big salads are great too because the salad dressings taste home made. The only thing I had that was basic was the cheese enchiladas but everything is usually great. Great service, great food, great variety and great prices.

Confirmed with some dude that works there: their hours are Mon-Sat 6am-3pm. I stayed in Uvalde for business for 2 weeks. We made it a point to stop in for lunch at Los Alamos whenever possible because the food is just hat good. The enchilada plate is prolly the best enchiladas I've had outside of San Antonio. They're legit. I also tried their burger---it's a burger--nothing to write home about but good nevertheless. The waitstaff if mostly friendly but if you come in at like 2:45 when they're about to close, they'll be slightly less accommodating (understandably). For example, our waitress was trying to get us out the other day and didn't serve us our customary chips and salsa. Nothing major...just the little things. Anyway, there's a couple of other TexMex restaurants in the town that are decent, but I'm over the opinion that Los Alamos is the best of the group along the highway 90 corridor that cuts through the city. Oh, and it's cheap--though not cheap tasting--as it should be.
