You may pass it up looking for it but make a upturn and don't miss out! Great tacos very flavorful!

Brisket gordita and their signature bread pudding! YUMMY!!

We had their brisket and chicken gordita's today! We also purchased some to go for later! We brought home chicken tortilla soup and they sent diced avocado and shredded cheese and also tortilla chips for us to put in after we warmed it up. It has to be hands down the very best tortilla soup I've ever had! If you are anywhere in the area you need to stop by and try them out! The owners are a joy to visit with!

Nopalitos gordita. Delicious, hot, and fresh!

Five star gorditas! Five star staff! My husband tried gorditas for the the very first time and this was the best place in the Lone Star Texas to try them! Come before noon or you might not find a table due to the big lunch crowd! I had a nopalito gordita and my husband had a carne guisada gordita-both delicious, hot, and fresh! We also shared a hot capirotada sprinkled with cheese for dessert. It is a Mexican bread pudding that oozed with pure goodness! I appreciated the sign indicating the symbolism of the capirotada: syrup-Blood of Christ, bread-Body of Christ, raisins-nail on the cross, cinnamon-board of the cross, cheese-Holy Shroud.

This unassuming little covered patio in Uvalde has the best gorditas and chicken tortilla soup I've ever had! You can tell that everything is completely fresh and homemade, and they don't cut corners. I love Mexican food, but frequently feel that it's too heavy for lunch. I could eat this tortilla soup everyday and I'm going to make a point of trying every one of their gorditas at some point. Definitely try the steak ranchero if you like things on the spicy side. It's perfectly spiced and they do not cheat you on the fillings! So happy to have found another lunch spot for when I'm in Uvalde!

UVALDE why are you NOT promoting this place!!! GREAT service, DELICIOUS food, and an "at home" atmosphere. The food is fresh and YUMMY! It's somewhere you NEED to visit!

The outside is deceiving because it looks deceptive but it's a clean beautiful decor inside. Always hopping with great service. Now for the food. I think it has the best variety, value and great tasting food in Uvalde. There is something for everyone. Our favorites are the Monday green chili enchiladas. I've eaten hundreds of green enchiladas over the past 50 years. These are the BEST! Other favorites are stuffed pepper steak which we get the home fries ( delicious) with the small upcharge of queso . This also comes with a side salad to start. Again- one of the best we have ever had. The description of Julio's says barbecue which we only had once and it was great on the tacos. I've never had their breakfast tacos but the drive thru is always busy with the take out tacos. The sandwhiches, chicken fried chicken and big salads are great too because the salad dressings taste home made. The only thing I had that was basic was the cheese enchiladas but everything is usually great. Great service, great food, great variety and great prices.

Awesome food and great service. My go to place in town. Food always fresh and people are always…read morenice.

I'm sure it was very overwhelming for the sweet lady who was working that day. Another young lady came in to help. Kudos to them AND the cook! Wow --YUM!! The food was so good!! Migas, huevos rancheros, refried beans, pancakes and thick bacon were among the favorites of the amazing items we ordered. ALSO, the breakfast tacos were massive & delicious!! Highly recommend stopping here! Thank you for accommodating our family during the flooding on Monday !

The pancakes were fluffy and light. The ham was a nice thick cut that they seared well. I also requested sugar-free syrup and they had some available. My husband ordered Lala's Sampler and it included a little bit of everything. A small cup of menudo, barbacoa, huevos rancheros, a side of bacon, and potatoes. My husband said it was delicious. So why am I not giving it 5 stars? I'm very selective and it's not the best I've ever had. However, it was delicious and if you're in the small town of Leakey and want something satisfying, don't overlook this place. It's not much to look at from outside, but the food is good. Definitely recommend.
