Review is for Taquiza services and lack of integrity by the owner. For context:  We paid for 50 people to be fed tacos, rice, beans, chips and salsa and expected that service would stop at what we ordered, no more, no less because we had other food to supplement our guests knowing that not everyone would eat tacos. Quality of food: Tacos were good. Even though the order came with rice and beans, it was not offered to our guests at the time of service. Main issue:  Taquiza claimed they had rice and beans but none of our guests were offered or served it. Lack of integrity and poor business ethic:   Reasonably, I am asking for reimbursement of rice and beans not served but were paid for. He was given an opportunity to make it right and chose not to. Instead he chose to upcharge us past our agreed upon order. Word of caution: I went through them via a referral because of good food. If you decide to use their business, be aware: - make sure that you confirm receipt of all items ordered and that it is served. -it is not really a contract, its an order form that you do not get a copy of so we just took a picture of it.  They only take cash and require 50% deposit - Their process of order confirmation was for us to call the day before the event to confirm the order.  We were left with no sense of security. -the set up is a steam table where you DO NOT visibly see what they have because they have it covered.  The only thing you can see is a small grill and the salsas. -Since we were not given a written contract, we were told that they only give you leftover tacos and don't give you the leftover rice and beans.  This does not seem sensical because the food would have been wasted otherwise by the company.  Other companies we've seen at other parties left those items and the leftover fixings especially because it was paid for. But then again, if there were no rice and beans, how would you be able to give leftovers. Needless to say, We DO NOT recommend them. read more

I'm glad they're still open post COVID. For now no indoor service but you can eat inside or out. Ordered at the counter then take your plates to the table. This is the only place that tops your tortilla chips with cheese and frijole beans! Menudo can be requested with or without knuckle bone, Posole is tasty, shrimps are on the smaller size. I'd prefer the next size up. This is a no frills low ambiance no table service place with solid every day Mexican food. Five stars for what it is. Not a special occasion restaurant. This place has gone down hill. We sat to eat in today and the tables weren't even bussed and cleaned off. After asking to have our cleaned, the "waitress" kept spilling the leftover salsa on the table so she had to keep recleanjng. Then she puts the half eaten salsa on another table and leaves it there. We finally got our food which wasn't bad but the waitress forgot our waters, not once did she come to the table and ask if everything was fine. When we needed something, we had to get her attention. Overall, the food was ok at best but the service absolutely sucks. We won't be coming back here. So much for customer service. read more

Cons: customer service, very poor. No eye contact and acted like he was in a hurry. I saw a plate of food come out and I asked him what it was and he says "shrimp".... Well no sht Sherlock. They don't clean off the burner/grill they put food on top of burned food on the grill... Yuck. They dropped the scrapper on the floor and then put it back to be reused wo cleaning it. Pro: some customers get chips (I wasn't one of those customers). They ask how your food is (I wasn't one of those customers either). I won't be back. read more

Had an order of the Bean & Cheese Burrito (~$5): beans (without lard), cheese (if desired), & (upon request) salsa wrapped in a tortilla. Food was delicious, staff was frenzied, and the ambiance was al fresco (with seating outdoors). read more

This is a solid Mexican food joint. I've had burritos, tacos, beef soup, and quesabirria. It never disappoints. I ranked it at 4 instead of 5 because they only carry two types of salsa: mild (green) and oh-my-god-that's-a-bad-idea-hot (red). I wish there was a third option that had a little kick but didn't destroy me. read more

BETTER CHIPS THAN CHEVYS! I absolutely love this place! I go here for the chips, carnitas tacos, and the menudo. The chips are free and unlimited BUT the best part is that it isn't just chips served with a side of salsa but it's a basket of chips that are topped with refried beans, amazing mild green salsa, and shredded cheese. It's simple but completely delicious! Do you love tacos? Do you like carnitas? Do you LOVE spicy food? Order carnitas tacos, ask them to cook the carnitas extra crispy, and make it hot ! The hot sauce is more amazing than the green one! You'll love it! Note: Not all cooks are created equal! If you want your carnitas cooked to crispy perfection, ask for Nacho to cook it! THE BEST MENUDO is served here! It has the tripe AND all the rest of the innards or parts that are used to make this weekend dish. Plus, they have all the seasonings to make it according to your taste such as oregano, red pepper spices, onion, cilantro, and lime. DELICIOUS! (My mouth is actually watering now as I write this!) Now, I'll be coming here this weekend to order menudo! read more

I've been working 5 minutes from here for 5 years, and have never noticed this place. I was bored with my usual choices, wanting carnitas, but not interested in Los Panchos because I did not want to eat outside or take it home with me. I found El Grullense here on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The complimentary nachos were great! The carnitas platter was very good too. It had crunchy bits that were filled with flavor, as well as mostly tender and flavorful meat. Service was very polite and fast. I will be back! read more

Food was good. What made the experience disappointing was the bad service. Charge me for food and failed to put it in my bag. Check your food! Don't trust them! I called restaurant to let them know of there mistake and they left me waiting on phone. Very unprofessional. SMH read more

Love this place I go probably 4x a month and have always gotten the same order breakfast buritto and 3 salsas because it's pretty dry this was July 3rd around 730-8am..After years of seeing me I don't know why the lady would be so rude . She sees me walk in I give some space so the customer in front of me can finish paying. She finishes the transaction and proceeds to walk out the restaurant and start setting up the outside dining area after 5 solid minutes of waiting She comes in to ring me up and I ask for 3 salsa because that's what I've gotten for years and she decided that I only get 2 I asked again for 1 more she says I only get 2 I asked if I can buy one more salsa if just giving me 1 more extra is a problem. She was really rude and should probably wake up on the other side of the bed. Were all grumpy in the morning don't take it out on customers. read more

How do you mess up a simple burrito I said no salsa on my burrito one simple thing paid 14 dollars for a dam burrito that was drenched in hot sauce when I clearly told them to not put hot sauce on my burrito . it's crazy how they expect you to tip and be generous when they can't even make your dam order right im tired of places like this that don't value the customer at all and look at you funny when you don't tip read more

Have been coming to this place for 12 years and this place had great food years ago and as time as gone on the food quality and size has gone down with it . While the price has tripled if not more . The employees are terrible now with no care in the world and they do not listen or communicate and are just flat out rude and disrespectful . I hate placing my order and getting the rude smurks because I order my food how I like it . The building has expanded but the cliente has dropped , I wonder why . Friends and I used to frequent this place sometime 3-5 times a week , but the last several times something is always made wrong or not how it used to be . They really need to hire people who can speak both languages fluently not misunderstand English . I said what I said it's true . Sad to say I will not be back to order food for myself again . There is to many Mexican food spots in the Bay Area to have to deal with such terrible service and lacking in quality food with a rude attitude from the employees . read more

I need answers! I really want to give this place 5 stars because of their tacos, but that wouldn't be fair if their burritos are disgusting! First of all, what happened to the quality? I've tried the buche (too salty), lengua (bland, no seasoning), the carnitas is dry -- what happened El Greasy's? And please please please tell me why the Spanish rice tastes like Uncle Ben's minute rice? The chimichanga was beyond greasy -- it's like tasting nothing but oil. This place used to be good, but it went downhill. Super disappointed. read more

Are any of these good reviews by someone who is Mexican? Literally the worst carnitas I have ever had. Was it even carnitas? It was like stewed meat. Weird flavor. Similar to middle eastern Mexican fusion if that were a thing. There was no cheese in my quesadilla (just a dilla?) and it was rolled like a burrito. My boyfriend had a steak "quesadilla" and it was just as bad. Horrible. read more

El Grullense - Old meat - Mexican Near Me - Pacheco, California

Docking 4 stars because of service. I used to work next door for 5 years to this place I know the owner Ricky and his family that used to work there. Ricky would make our food and walk it over to the warehouse. Arrived first in line person upfront male was on the phone didn't want to take my order. He waited until two other people stood behind me then told the person on the phone I'll call you back. I'm not sure if it's cause the family isn't behind the kitchen but the flavor just isn't there anymore. Red sauce is pretty much the sameness but the green sauce (the best in the bay in my opinion) is not the same anymore. Also please don't cut a meat quesadilla like this read more

I used to love this place especially for their chorizo breakfast burrito but lately they've gone way downhill. Their salsa tastes and looks like water completely thin and watered down. They tell my husband they don't sell guacamole yet its on their pics and menu??? I don't know if that's laziness or something else but you probably shouldn't run out of guacamole when its such a hot item.. And I hate saying this but everytime my husband goes to get us food they make him wait longer than anyone even though he was there first. Is it because he's white? Seems to be a theme here and I'm done. Its a shame I used to love them. read more

This place is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I always have the hardest time deciding between tacos or nachos here. The meats here are so flavorful, they re-fry the carnitas so they have a nice little crisp to it, which is excellent as a taco or on nachos. Their carne asada is also very tasty. Another one of my favorite dishes here are the Chili Verde. The pork melts in your mouth and they serve it with their hand made tortillas! Of course you have to drink some horchata with it as well! The parking here can be kinda crappy at times, so if you know you're coming in for lunch, try to get in before noon. read more

Best Mexican Food. Hire them for a party you won't regret, yummy tacos burritos very generous and savory. Delicious seafood.

Dirty little place with ok food and a waitress that never brought us the things we asked for like more chips, never came back so we could order more drinks and she had the personality of a wet rag. Automatic 4 stars! First time trying it. I found it interesting that some people gave it one and others even gave it a 5?! Average is 3, so I say why not?! After reading the 5 star reviews I decided that I needed to try the meat. Everyone who gave it a 5 talked about the tacos. This must mean they make good protein. So instead of ordering tacos bc I didn't feel like it, or a burrito, like my husband; I went with tostada! I usually judge a Mexican spot by the beans. It's the base of most dishes. Tostada is one of the few things I enjoy meat on. The problem is when you get it at a restaurant and especially to go....it's often very disappointing. Meaning soggy bottom, or even just a lack of flavor. Not here!!! Get a tostada! I'm coming back for more! Solid 4/4.5. My husband was disappointed with his burrito. He is a steak, cheese, and rice guy. The meat was over seasoned for him to enjoy it. Not my meal though lol so I was happy. Tostada she'll was nice and crunchy! The toppings were very sufficient. In fact I was surprised when I picked up my tostada and it didn't even crack. Flavor all around with the toppings was great! It balanced out the meat. My husband said he ordered mine hot and I'm so thankful he did. Salsa here is flavorful! Meant here is flavorful! I rather have over then under. Also one tostada is very filling. I had the bbq pork. Only bad thing is lots of grease. When you picked up the shell from the meat. The other tostada I ordered was chicken. So full from the bbq pork I couldn't try it. Bbq pork was good though! This is the best tostada I had in a very long time. The hot gave me a nice hum of heat on my mouth. Not overwhelming so please request it if you like a little heat. read more
