El Dos Ruedas "Colossal Cortadito"

Hi everybody! So I decided today that I would checkout a local no nonsense lunch spot in the Pinecrest / Palmetto Bay Area that had been recommended. "El Dos Ruedas" was nearby where I was running some errands, so I decided to check them out and I am very happy that I did. As expected they were very busy but in a few minutes I was sitting down and talking to my server. Seeing as this is down home Cuban lunch spot, I opted for the Steak Sandwich, a couple of Croquetas and a cup of their soup of the day, "Ajiaco". All food items were excellent and the service was courteous and fast. Afterwards I ordered the obligatory "Cortadito" aka Cuban Macchiato and outside of being awesome it was huge! Talk about value.... The portion sizes were excellent and their prices were extremely affordable to boot. The most expensive item on the menu was a whole fried snapper for $17 which is unheard of really. Most food items range between $2 and $10 which is great. Normally you would think cheap prices mean bad food but that is not the case at all here guys. Everything is very fresh as I would expect it to be with so much traffic. The restaurant is not large but they do move tables fast from what I could see so no issues there. Additionally, they also have plenty of parking as they are located in a strip mall but it can get a little congested at lunch time. Ambiance was great as well and very welcoming but that is pretty typical for family owned Cuban restaurants. Well I certainly will be coming back whenever I can and if you want to get some great quality affordable no nonsense Cuban food, you should definitely give them a shot. Hey, great opportunity to put those Spanish lessons to use! Just sayin.... LOL! Wishing everyone a great day. Enjoy and Bon Appétit!

This place never disappoints.. every time I go the food is GREAT! The service is great as well.

We just left zoo Miami and we are a family of four. We were craving some authentic Cuban food . We didn't want to drive too far and thankfully this place popped up . We really enjoyed this little gem. The food was delicious. We didn't wait long at all. we are very satisfied.

A great deal for authentic cuban food in the southwest part of the miami area. A good sign - lots of guys sitting at the diner style counter and many locals coming to pick up to go orders. We were seated right away and the menu was extremely reasonable with menu items priced from $4 to just under 8 dollars. Seriously there might have been something over 8 but I dont remember seeing it. They had an extensive breakfast menu and I wish it had been that time of day cuz I do love some breakfast but since it was nighttime I went with the fried pork plate. You get to choose 3 sides with your item and they bring out baskets of buttery garlic bread. Some other items my party got were the creole shrimp, flank steak, seafood soup (a meal in itself) and the rice with squid (and accompanying ink). Everyone liked their dishes and while it looked like our food might take a long time service was pretty quick. The best local food places are in strip malls like this...I highly recommend.

The food is amazing and it's cheap too. The portion is big as well! The servers were really sweet, especially since we didn't speak Spanish.

The service was great, food was delicious, and the price, unbelievable. My wife and I shared a Cuban sandwich. The portions are huge and the flavor is on point. This is my first time here. I only wish I had know about it earlier. Im definitely coming back. Yuri, the waitress was on her game.

DIRT AND MUD IN THE SALAD!!! WATCH OUT…read more We ordered the salad with mango and pecans. They do not wash there lettuce. There was literally dirt/mud at the bottom and I took my first bite and it felt like biting into sand. Upon spitting the food out onto my plate it was black sludge. Literally my tongue and teeth were black. The waiter came by and grabbed the plate when I was in the bathroom. I spent about 10 minutes trying to get that BLACK SLUDGE out of my mouth. When I was spitting out the dirt/mud wife noticed the bus boys laughing at me and there was not a manger in sight. When I asked for a manager he did not even respond. No apology or anything just a look of confusion. Worst experience in a restaurant in my life and I love to eat and have been to many types of restaurant big and small. Cheap and expensive and this one takes the cake. We were so bummed as I see thousands of great reviews. But if there was a zero I would have given zero stars the way they handled the situation. If you eat there in the future make sure to check for DIRT/MUD.

Five of us ordered: 5 Cafecitos 1 Pan con Lechon 3 Pan con Bistec 1 Coladita 1 Timba Came out to $107.45 including a $10 tip. We already had a memorable Cubano sandwich so we explored other options. The Lechon was by far the crowd favorite flavor wise, but it is heavier with the pork fat. The garlic sauce is a must to help cut through the richness. We left supremely happy with the salty and garlicky fat flavors lingering on our tastebuds, rejuvenated by a quick shot of velvety espresso, and capped off with the sweet guava and tangy queso crema shake (La Timba). This location is nestled in a food court style area, with a few restaurants offering sit down table service as well. And when I say offering, the sales tactics are reminiscent of timeshare sales zombies standing in an idle state until you mistakenly stop for a BEAT and then it's game on for them. Luckily at Sanguich, they have a few dedicated seats and tables for themselves and they'll come drop your order for you. A little bit of a scavenger hunt to find it, but well worth the adventure. The views out on the water are a bonus too.

We ordered a ton, and right off the bat: if you love croquetas and empanadas, order extra. They're on the smaller side and come individually, but they are so good they disappear fast. The beef empanadas were a 10/10 perfectly seasoned and crispy. The chicken empanadas didn't hit the same for me, but the jamón croquetas? Absolutely insane. A must. For appetizers, the prawns al ajillo were delicious super flavorful and cooked perfectly. We also tried the grilled octopus, which was good, but not my favorite. It leaned a bit bland for my taste, even with the sauce. Now, the must-get: the carnitas with pickled onions. Easily one of the best dishes of the night so flavorful, tender, and perfectly balanced. For entrées, we had the ribeye steak and arroz con pollo, plus sides of tostones and yuca. Everything here delivered. The steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right not overly salty. The arroz con pollo was phenomenal, the kind of dish you could eat every single day. The tostones were crispy and tossed in garlic, which took the flavor to another level, and the yuca was melt-in-your-mouth good. I also ordered a mojito, which unfortunately was very watered down, I barely got any of that classic mojito flavor. Service overall was solid, especially considering how loud the restaurant gets it was honestly hard to hear each other at the table, so shoutout to our server for keeping everything straight. The appetizers came out quickly, back-to-back, which we loved. The only downside was the wait for the entrées they took quite a while after we finished the apps, even though we ordered everything at once. Overall, amazing food, great energy, and definitely worth going just be prepared for a lively (and loud) atmosphere.

Unfortunately, our other server disappeared and never checked up on us. We pretty much didn't have any napkins during our entire duration of our meal. At least that part was good. We started off with a couple of mojitos and their Vaca Frita Tostones. You get these homemade maduro tostones topped off with shreeded beef in a moon sauce, pickled onion, and aji Amarillo aioli. A very delicious dish that didn't last long. Shortly after we received our main dish. I really hate when they do that. My wife ordered their Abuelas Ropa Vieja and I ordered their Masa de Puerco Chino. My wife didn't really care for her dish much. We've had plenty of Ropa Vieja before and would have preferred a congri type of rice as opppsed to just plain white rice. My dish was 10/10. Like in the name of "chino" this is an Asian inspired dish with fried rice, maduros, pineapple confit and crispy pork. A very delicious dish. It could have don't without the little salad on top, but at least it ads color to the dish. The crispy pork tasted so amazing and the fried had so much flavor. Mix in some of the maduros and you get a sweet and savory dish. Would definitely be returning to try this dish again.

We ordered the Cuban sandwich and the Cuban burger, and honestly both were dangerously good. The Cuban sandwich was exactly what you hope for -- crispy bread, perfectly pressed, packed with flavor, and the kind of sandwich that makes you pause mid-bite and just nod at the person across from you like "yep... this was the right decision." The Cuban burger was also fantastic -- juicy, flavorful, and big enough that you start questioning whether you should have skipped breakfast. The area around the restaurant was great too. Nice vibe, good energy, and perfect for walking around before or after eating... which you will probably need to do after finishing that burger. The servers were good -- friendly, attentive, and thankfully didn't judge us for attacking the food like we hadn't eaten in three business days.
