It had been years since our last visit to Sonoma, all we could remember is our delicious meal at EDK! When we planned our roadtrip to Sonoma Coast we made sure to include a lunch stop at EDK. This time we dined indoors, which allowed us to enjoy the lovely decor. Our server was friendly, and fantastic! Made some suggestions and allowed us enough time to see the menu. Apparently this is a Michelin restaurant. Came here for lunch while in Sonoma for wine tasting. I ordered the shrimp tacos and my friend got a veggie pasta. I really enjoyed my tacos, the shrimp was very crispy and fried to perfection. I wish they gave you three instead of two or maybe a side of rice or something. We were so looking forward to lunch. Unfortunately things were off that day. We had a 1:30 reservation for eight. We were seated promptly, but that was the last of anything prompt. It took well over 20 minutes to get our cocktails after we ordered. Then to get appetizers another 40 minutes. To top it off, the calamari was cold once it arrived. Next to get our entree it took another 40 minutes. Our server kept coming by saying it's back upped, I'd believe it except the table next to us came in after us, had their entrees and paid and left before even our entrees were delivered. . Now on to the food. Don't get any salads. Beet salad was canned beets with a few pieces of cilantro and a few caddied nuts. Fish tacos were so little it looked like an appetizer. We sat down at 1:30 and left at 3:30. Wasted our whole afternoon there. I have zero desire to eat there again. The party next to our table was a party of 8 as well. No excuses. read more

Let's start on a positive note. Service and ambiance were stellar. Duff took great care of us as we settled in for the night. The space is quite literally warm which was welcoming on a chilly winter evening. My husband absolutely loved his carbonara and my beet salad was delicious. I was not a fan of the pork belly. The prawns were under seasoned and added nothing to the dish. My star deduction is a result of their reservation system. I booked through open table which will automatically prompt a reservation confirmation a day or two prior to visiting. El dorado also contacted me three different times via text and phone to attempt a confirmation. I was traveling and did not respond. I attempted to call back and confirm the reservation for two days but the calls went unanswered. I brought this to the attention of the staff when we were seated and got a little chuckle over the whole situation. They then proceeded to mark me a no show on open table and I had to prove I was there. So sad. What was a fairly nice night left me with a sour taste. New Year's weekend getaway in Sonoma and the El Dorado Kitchen was a perfect place to start. My hubby and I had a fantastic dinner and experience there. It's a very beautiful restaurant located in the town square of Sonoma and only a mile from our hotel. We had reservations so we were seated immediately. Our server Daniel was very professional, knowledgeable, attentive and kind. My hubby and I ordered the potato and leek soup, the spinach+ mushroom raviolis with shrimp and their seafood paella. Wow, the soccarat (crispy rice) of the paella was amazing. Each dish was delicious, and so beautifully prepared and plated. The flavors were outstanding! It was a 5+ experience overall! There is nothing I love more than a triple hit. Great food. Great service. Great ambiance. How I overlooked this place over the years is crazy. We had the burriata appitizer, and the brussel sprouts. Usually places over oil or over bacon brussel sprouts. These were perfect with parmesan cheese, golden raisins and slivered almonds. Delish!!!!! I had scallops and husband had the lobster cannelloni. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and paired with the sauces they were served with. AND, i can forget the butternut soup....it was topped with butterscotch marshmallows. I would NOT come back here again nor recommend this place solely based on their customer service! We made a reservation for my parents wedding anniversary. We had a party of 14 for a reservation at 6:00pm. In advanced we had let the staff know we had 14, but they advised us the max reservation was for 12 people. (4 of 14 were kids). When we arrived, We let the hostess know that we had 2 addition children and asked if they can make necessary accommodations for 2 additional chairs. In The hostess mentioned that the only way was to pay 20% gratuity and they can accommodate us but without the 20% gratuity we would have to have the kids sit on our laps while we ate dinner because they have a full reservation guest list. I was planning on tipping 20-22% regardless if the service is good but by no means will I be forced to leave a tip of their choice to accommodate 2 extra people for a completely empty restaurant. While discussing the true hostess, a manager by the name of Claudia popped out of nowhere and began to give me major attitude and tell me that adding 2 people is a major inconvenience and they can't make the accommodation. It sounded like they really didn't want our business. They continued to mention they have reservations in every single table and every table was filled. As we continued to eat with our kids sitting on our laps, I saw tables clearing like cockroaches leaving a drain pipe. By 8:00 The restaurant was almost completely empty. . We are almost finished with our dinner at this point and the entire back restaurant is still empty!!!! They also lied to me and told me they have 8:30 reservations, but come to find out, they close at 8:30pm. These workers were completed nasty people and made us very uncomfortable dining there. I went back to the host stand and asked to talk to the manager again. I mentioned the tables are all empty and it was absolutely ridiculous that they wouldn't accommodate 2 more chairs. I asked why she would rather her guests be uncomfortable than accommodate 2 small children at a table. Sounds like they might have been discriminating against us for having kids, since it's a very adult driven area. The manager just continued with her disgusting, attitude. The puppet in the back of her made sure to have her back during this convo. It was truly unprofessional and disturbing that a manger would talk the way she did. She needs to find a job outside of customer service And rather in the back of the restaurant where she doesn't need to be people facing. I'm truly disgusted by the lack of accommodations made, the customer service by the host and management. I have never encountered such horrible management in my life. Even in the 12 years of working in hospitality, I've never seen such unfriendly And rude staff members. I made sure to send the manager Joel an email. His response was very general (thanks for your feedback) blah blah blah. I should have known cus Claudia did warn me that if I message the floor manager he won't disagree with them. Our server was awesome and he did a great job. Here is a photo of the restaurant the way it was at 8pm when we dined there. Completely dissatisfied and would never come here again. Also, don't order their kids pasta with butter. It taste like bland noodles with no flavor. Not to mention, the next day I got sick, and so did my son. Not sure if they put something in my food after I complained or just dirty food management. lol Overall, not a good experience. I should add that we spent the same amount ($1,200) at RH in Yountville the next day and had an amazing experience. They accommodated a large group and were amazing! So hospitable and friendly. My sister and I ate here a few days ago. It was delicious. They serve their own filtered water. It was some of the best water I've had at a restaurant. I guess I'm a water snob. We both had their chopped salad which was delicious! We took bacon off and added avocado. No additional charge. Oh, and we had truffle fries... oh my gosh those were amazing! We also had craft cocktails as shown in the picture. Definitely recommend this place. However, not cheap. We got the mixed greens appetizer to share. It was such a unique blend of toppings -- including pomegranate seeds, artichoke hearts-- I loved it! Great service and delicious food! Came by with some coworkers after a work meeting to grab some lunch. Our client recommended us this place so we thought we'd give it a try! We were seated immediately upon arrival, and the place was pretty packed already for a Wednesday afternoon. We had a bottle of wine gifted to us by our client to try out for lunch, and was able to bring it in no problem. Our waiter offered to get us an ice bucket to keep our wine cold, and opened the bottle and poured it out for us as well! Throughout the meal he kept checking back in and making sure to refill our glasses anytime he noticed it was low/empty, which we really appreciated. As for the food, I decided to try the seafood paella as that was what we heard was the special here, and boy did it not disappoint!! I feel that no matter how many times I give it a try, paellas are always a hit or miss for me (mostly misses), but wow this was one of the best paellas I've ever had!! So flavorful and well seasoned, and the seafood was pretty big and fresh as well. The clams and mussels were pre-cut from the shell so it glided off so easily and the jumbo shrimps were so juicy! Will definitely come back here for the paella again, or maybe I'll try the carbonara next time! read more

All our food was outstanding. The problem was service. We were there at 9 am and were told that was the only time they could take a party of 6. We were seated in the smaller front room. There was only one waitress, and she was overwhelmed. Coffee took 25 minutes. Other people were waited on and received their orders before us. I walked back to the large dining room and patio....no one was there...either customer or wait staff. The food was good, but one order was wrong. He said not to redo it. EDK is one of those restaurants where you can order any item on the menu & it's delicious! My husband & I have ordered EDK for pick up but never actually dined in, until last night. For starters, we ordered the Wagyu beef Carpaccio & the truffle fries. For my entree I ordered the seafood paella (my favorite) & my husband ordered the house made fettuccine, I stole a couple of bites from his plate & omg so creamy & delicious! The portions are very generous. For dessert we ordered the most tasty crème brûlée & shared it among the 4 of us at the table. Lastly the drinks we ordered were so refreshing & large definitely worth it! Our server & everyone else we encountered were kind & attentive. The reason a 2 star, we were there Saturday (5) 2 ordered filet mignon med rare .. both came back WELL cooked our nice server took it back returned mine it was filet butterfly opened ( which never ever have I had it like that) still wasn't the way I liked it 2nd filet mignon was not very good a piece look like a piece of leather .... Very very disappointed! That is not the first time I had not such A good experience with there filet mignon, but I thought under new management I would give it a go. The other people we were with seem to enjoy their meals YAY for them. Of course they took the 2 meals off our bill (clap clap) but I would rather have had a great meal. We had a lovely dinner tonight at El Dorado Kitchen. The soup of the day was potato leek, which was delicious. We enjoyed the foccacia and cornbread with the soup. I ordered the house made fettuccine carbonara, with spinach and mushrooms. It was delicious, but so rich that I brought half of it home. My husband had the seafood paella. We were too full for dessert. It was quiet when we arrived (early, around 5:30), but it became more energetic as the dinner hour advanced. read more
