So glad to have found Ric to fix my kitchen clock. He's currently working on it but I already know he'll do a fantastic job. I didn't trust the last shop I used any longer. I'm taking my other clocks to him. He really knows his stuff. Highly recommend. read more

I was recommended to Rik for maintenance on 2 of my 60 year old Sacramento Clock Company Pendulum Clocks. Both were purchased during our honeymoon back in the 1960's and though not highly valuables they have a special meaning to my wife and I. I selected Rik due to his many years in the vintage clock business and he gave me options and pricing which helped me decided how much I wanted done to them. He was extremely knowledgeable about his art of repair and restoration and shared lot of information about my clocks that I was unaware of. Great person and would never go elsewhere again....Drew O. read more

I only acquired a Fancher Grandfather clock yesterday and spent a day calling clock repair companies. Long story short, I found El Dorado Clock Works as a query to Next Door Neighbor. Nic happened to be in my area and came by the very same day as my contact to him; talk about response time! Lucky for me as I was considering selling it because another company's price to overhaul it came in at a whopping $925! I am so glad I went with Nic at approximately four times less. He was at my place for about 2 hours and expertly and efficiently handled the complex workings of this masterpiece. I really enjoyed talking with him as he is not only skilled, but has a lively personality. I remain so impressed! Thank you Nic, you're a gem- read more

I called Ric to service my wife's grandmother's grandfather clock, he made a house call the same day! The clock hadn't run for years and had been stored in our garage, so I wasn't hopeful. Ric got it running beautifully. My wife hadn't heard that chime since she was a child. It was really special. Thank you, Ric for your professionalism and friendliness. We'll definitely be calling on you again when it's due for it's next service. read more

If I could give this gentleman 100 stars I would!! Ric is amazing. I bought a grandfather clock 50 years ago and I'm sad to say it was never serviced. I recently moved the clock to paint and could not get it to work after. My moon dial NEVER worked, the chimes stopped working about 30 years ago. My friend gave me his number and he promptly returned my call. When he says he'll be at your house a certain time he will be there and calls first to let you know he's on his way and when he says he'll call he does. Ric came to my house, worked on my clock for almost 3 hours and now the moon dial works!, the chimes work! it sounds wonderful. He's made me very happy. I highly recommend him!!! He rocks!!! I told him I'm going to call him "Rockin Ric" from now on. read more

Rick was amazing. The Seth Thomas mantle clock we inherited was not working. When I called him he asked for pictures and a concise description the the problem. He called back and talked my wife through doing the repair herself. He was very clear and most important, very patient. Rick took time at the end of his day (he was out on a house call when I first talked with him) and saved us trip and possible further damage. Check with Rick before you go anywhere else. read more

Before I made the long trip down from Tahoe I called and Rick VERY KINDLY walked me through resolving my problem on the phone. Thank you so much and I'll bring in my clock when it needs a new movement! A+++ read more

Ric is an expert and passionate clock works master. Upon inspection, he found a sticky material built up on the gears that were stuck. He dismantled, cleaned and reassembled my old German wall clock and tested it. When finished, the clock works were so clean and bright! The clock now works very smooth with a pleasant steady beat. I gladly agreed to wait for the service, so that Ric could take all the time he needs to spend with his grandchildren. My highest recommendation goes to Ric. read more

Just inherited my grandfather's grandfather clock. Grew up with this clock and remember visiting and staring at this beauty with my Dad. Both of us loved this clock. The clock ended up with my aunt and I thought it was long gone. With my aunt just passing, her son didn't want it and was very gracious to give it to me. We moved it on Saturday and I called Rick on Monday and scheduled an inspection and cleaning on Wednesday. He was very timely and texted after he completed the job before mine. So enjoyable to watch him go through the clock and for him to guess at the country of origin. It's still a mystery but he shared everything he was seeing and what country used that technology. Wonderful experience and well worth every penny for his services. So glad I didn't attempt it myself. You won't be sorry if you use Rick to service your clock. read more

A true professional technician. Ric has been in the clock repair business for 45 years, and all of his experience and knowledge shows when you first meet him. We contacted El Dorado Clock Works (Ric) when an heirloom grandfather clock quit working. He came and assessed the problem, and took all of the moving assemblies with him to his shop The clock had never been serviced, and many wear parts were worn. Ric drilled out the worn assemblies, and installed new bushings back to manufacturer's specifications. He test ran the clock at his shop, adjusting it to within one minute per week. Amazing. I highly recommend. read more
