During a Texas gully washer we were looking for a coffee house to dry out with a hot beverage. We stumbled on to the El Dorado Cafe. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It had a very quaint comfortable atmosphere along with a very intriguing menu. We settled on a delicious breakfast dish that came with fruit. It went really well with our coffee. I can't recommend this place enough. Their food is always fresh and very yummy. I'm still trying different things as there are so many good things on the menu; Esme's Magic enchiladas(mashed potatoes people!), the Supa Chalupa, Dos Tostadoes, Nachos Compuesto, Gracie's Vegan Tostada, and can't forget the Uchingon Bowl. Found this gem of a place yesterday during a business meeting. Originally I had their French toast and you might think French toast... but there are ways to mess it up however it was great here! Today we decided to order several different items and they were all delicious. We had their chorizo plate, Nutella and banana waffle, menudo and their French toast. My husband ordered the Machaca (beans and egg scrambled with veggies, meat and cheese) and two pancakes with flour tortillas and it was good, I ordered the half waffle combo with Nutella, hash browns, eggs (scrambled) and 2 choice of meat(bacon) and it was good as well. The portions are on the normal side we had a little left over but not enough for a to go plate. Our total was $32 before tip for the both of us. This place is not customer orientated. We've been coming here a few times a month and the food is usually good. The service is hit or miss but we give grace because we like the atmosphere and no waiting. Today though, we ordered and didn't like one of the plates so we asked them to take it off the tab since they wouldn't make it again without charging us. We visited this place about two months ago. Food was okay, took a really long time to serve but the reason I will never go back there again was because most of the employees were NOT wearing their mask! I spoke to the manager (which was not wearing her mask). The guy cleaning the tables wasn't wearing his mask either. Saw two other waitresses not wearing their mask. Thankfully, our waitress was. The lady getting the to go orders also was not wearing her mask. The manager came to our table once our food was served and asked if everything was okay, I said, no, NO you are still not wearing your mask! Will not visit that place ever again. She said, everyone working here is healthy. How does she know? Does she test for Covid every single time an employee clocks in?? Will not recommend. read more

Doesn't look like much when you drive by ,but I was starving , so I popped in the definition of a hole in the wall. I got the seabass burger and wow!!! Amazing full with flavor ! Double patty , Chorizo, grilled onion, jalapeño, mayo!! There are many options on the menu from chilaquiles and regular breakfast plates but many options from kids to grandparents! The servers are friendly attentive and you can see the care for their regular customers that being said i recommend you try for yourself you wont regret it read more

I've driven past this restaurant a few times but it really never caught my eye, until today. I wanted breakfast and my boyfriend said we should check out El Dorado since it's on our way home. The place itself is really nice, super clean, and the decoration is modern but still with the "cafe" vibe. We were greeted at the door and were told we can have a seat anywhere. (More than likely because it was lonely but It was about 2pm) our waitress was named Martha and she was super kind. We both ordered coffee and water. I'm always cautious about ordering water at restaurants because I feel as most of the restaurants just serve you faucet water but the water here was actually good and so was the coffee. Only complaint about our drinks is that when we both finished our coffee we weren't offered more. My boyfriend ordered chicken fried steak (which is actually chicken fried chicken not steak). It came with potatoes that were extremely crunchy. He also ordered a Belgium waffle with Nutella, bananas, and strawberries. My boyfriend enjoyed the chicken but said he believes it would of been better if they would of served it hash browns due to the potatoes being so crunchy. I ordered the waffle combo with hash browns and bacon. It was pretty good. What I liked the most was the salsa they served with our food. It was authentic Mexican green salsa that actually had a nice kick to it. It went well with my over medium eggs. Didn't get pictures of all out food because by the time it occurred to me to take some pictures we had already started eating. Very cute hole in the wall place to eat for Mexican or American food, breakfast or lunch. Yummy food too! Highly recommend for anyone.

This is a new place in PG. Very Very Good. I've been there a couple of times now. I have eaten the Huevos Ranchero(forgot to take a picture) They give you quite a bit of food. I've had the Huevos con papas very good and the Chilaquiles. Everything was Delish in my opinion. My husband had a half order(2) of pancakes with real butter! He said they were better than IHOP and Denny's. My husband has also had the menudo(which you can get EVERYDAY) 3 different times and said it was very good. We Love this little gem and much easier to get into then Gonzales on Bruton and I think better prices. But I think you should hurry in. I think once people taste the food they will be flocking in. I did forget to say the only down side is they close everyday at 2:00 or 3:00. Which is not good for me when I want dinner. So much you go early. read more
