BFF is Puerto Rican and we had researched PR restaurants in the area for his birthday weekend trip…read more This place is within a couple of miles from our hotel and located in a small strip mall (plenty of parking but a tad congested and tight). We were the only customers around 5pm for an early dinner. We were promptly greeted by our server and she only spoke spanish (I used my spanglish lol). Traditional menus are not on hand so you have to use the QR code on the table. We started off with the yuca frita and beef alcapurrias for apps. Both were piping hot, tasty, and filling! Next up was the pollo pechuga for me (breaded chicken breast) with habichuelas (stewed beans) & arroz canilla (PR rice). The chicken was similar to chicken parm, tasty, and crispy. The habichuelas and arroz were also tasty and comforting. BFF ordered the pernil (slow roasted pork) with arroz con gandules (PR rice with pgeon peas). We did not opt for dessert nor any alcoholic beverages. Restaurant was very clean (as are the restrooms) and the decor is very warm, colorful, and welcoming. Our server was very sweet and kind, checked up on us often. Pricing was not bad either and I believe it was around 50ish dollars for all we had. Definitely recommend this gem! Side note: there's also a PR market next door! I wanted to peep in to see what they offered but didn't. I am sure it probably was like a little NY style bodega.

Small little Mexi-PR fusion cafe on the far east...buzzing…read more I enjoyed a MexiMocha latte. It was a nice little out of the way place that a lot of folks know about. So, it got crowded in the dining room pretty quick. If it weren't so busy or if they cycled through the customers, it would be better. I also got the ham, cheese, and egg sandwich...it was pretty good. No extra ingr dients, just those in the name. Plenty of sandwich...we split two between four peeps. They had a bunch of table games to keep you entertained in case you wanted to hang out I would like to try their guava and other pastries, their Caribbean sandwiches (tripleta, and bistec). Pastries and desserts were looking pretty good. I'd come me back to try, but probably would take it to go. I will try this place out again.

My girlfriend and I noticed this club had a grand opening about 3 months ago. We decided to go…read morecheck it out. When we first pulled up, there were only two cars in the parking lot, so we assumed it was pretty empty inside. It was. There were about 4 people in there. No one checked our ID, or greeted us. The interior was nice and modern looking. The bartender (possibly manager?) approached us and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We didn't, not right away. We just wanted to check it out. As my girl and I sat on the couch for about 5-10 minutes, the bartender came back and told us "You guys can't just sit there. If you're not going to get anything to drink, I'm going to have to ask you guys to leave." So, we left. Not to mention, my girlfriend was working on setting up the app they had, so she could play music requests. But, the bartender just approached us in a rude manner and was pretty straightforward that if you don't pay to buy something to drink, you're gonna get kicked out. So, just keep that in mind guys. We then went to La Mina Bar & Night Club - and they were so much more friendly; didn't force you to buy a drink, either!

But it just opened 3 months ago so we wanted to give it a try. We were chillin and then I'm guessing the guy that owns the club/bar or the manager was like "since you guys aren't buying drinks, I'm going to have to kick you out. You guys can't just sit here." I was baffled. We had just got there like literally for 5 minutes. I've never been kicked out of a bar before for not buying drinks. I just said "okay" and we walked out. I didn't know how to respond or react. We went to another club/bar called La Mina Bar and Night Club. Before we sat down I asked the bartender if he'd kick us out if we didn't order drinks and he said no. I've been to other clubs and even when i didn't buy drinks they never kicked me out. By the way highly recommend La Mina Bar and Night club. The music was amazing and everyone was nice. So keep in mind that in order for you to say at Latin Quarters New York, you have to purchase a beverage or they'll kick you out. Do not recommend Latin Quarters New York.
