The food is amazing but they take forever on their orders. I had order in advance through door dash and it said it would be ready in 40 minutes. When I came to pick it up they were barely getting to it and I had to wait 20 minutes Which is crazy bc people were ordering when we got off and they told them it would be ready in 20 minutes!!! They are terrible people read more

Been visiting since they started on Montana and I've got to say the consistency is on point! First Pupuseria in El Paso, keeping it traditional and flavors as typical as possible, perfect combination, by far the best pupusas in town, my family and I love both of their locations and have also ordered their catering services, yummy serive is always nice and very attentive cashier, perfect ambiance for a family outing with fresh outdoor seating. read more

Wanted to try this place with my mom, and as we arrived the workers were just standing and sitting around. After a few minutes have passed we were not greeted worse not even acknowledged! Even after looking online at their hours seeing open from 11AM-11PM getting there at 4:20 pm we were told they wouldn't be open until "maybe 6". Not seeming sure gives off the impression they don't even know their hours or just what feels convenient for them. I felt disrespected by them as well the fact i had brought my mother. Wasn't planning on dealing with people so just left. Never trying to come back again. read more

i'm an los angeles native and my family is central american, my grandfathers side being salvadoran, and i gotta tell you guys this place is where it's at!! the most authentic pupusas here! i've been to both locations and their service and taste never disappoints! always hot and always yummy! read more

We placed an order through Uber Eats, and waited an hour for the order. To our surprise, we received the notification saying that it had been delivered and when we checked, there was no food! We called their # about 5/6 times but never answered, by the last 2/3 calls they let the call ring once and then send to voicemail. We placed the order around 4:30 or 4:40 and they accepted the order and have us the process and was saying that our order was being prepared. How disappointing!! We didn't get to eat what we were craving and hoping to have, and their customer service by far the worst by ignoring their patrons! Shortly after everything, we noticed that every application they're under, has different times of operation, so not a very good business... rest assured we will not be ordering from that place ever again... sad, because we love pupusas.. read more

Nice people and just DELICIOUS!!!! Everything was delicious, Pupusas are a little over priced for just two, but very good!

Update So after the owner of this establishment had the audacity to tell me I'm wrong I decided to let things cool down and try this place again And well as you know I'm never going back! I ordered 3 pupusas which are about 3.50 each!!! Daaaam Okay I paid them and let me tell you these MASA PUPUSAS ARE OVERFILLED WITH MASA! No type of sides with it as well since they seem stingy I guess I'm not hving my favorite salvi dish in read more

Incredibly pillow pupusa. I'm still thinking about it. I can't wait to go back! Also the service was lovely!

Its a good place to eat. Kinda of hidden so if you blink you miss it. I like that its all fresh hot food.

Jesus Christ of Nazareth! Someone call my mother and let her know my faith has been restored! Being raised in Las Vegas and living in Houston for 2 years, I have been extremely spoiled when it comes to the food and beverage industry. On my drive from Houston to El Paso, I was going through my head of everything I would need a replacement for, and pupusas was on my top 5. Pupusas are my anti-depressant so obviously I was afraid I wouldn't find a spot to get my fix. Jesus Christ himself came down from the heavens above and showed me the way to happiness. My dog and I pulled in and we're immediately greeted by the angels there. I placed my order of two mixed pupusas and waited patiently for about 4 minutes. Since I had my guau guau with me, I decided to take them home to eat. If there weren't so many damn cops around, I would of easily gone 100 mph to get home. I cannot put into words how amazing each bite was. The mix of the curtido with the green salsa is what made my love of pupusas grow even more. Frankly, on my last bite, I fought back tears of sadness that I didn't order more. Will I return? Let's just cut the crap. I'll have my checks direct deposited to them and in return would like my own little VIP area (I'm a Vegas girl, what do you expect). Only downfall is there hours. They're only open 10-2 Monday through Saturday. I'm an addict so, this won't work. Hopefully, that'll change soon with my! read more

I'll let the photos speak for themselves. I couldn't even eat a whole pupusa and threw the rest of them in the trash. Such a waste of money unfortunately. The taste of burnt completely overwhelmed the entire pupusa which was also much too salty to enjoy. read more

One word will sum it up = WOW!! Deliciously addictive. The curtido ties everything together. Once you have the first bite, only then you will taste the difference between a Mexican gordita and a pupusa. La pupusona, Great food great prices to me thats the best recipe for success I really wish they would add ensalada de fruta to their menu. read more

Very causal atmosphere. Food is ok. Staff is ok. Price is fair. I recommend going and see what you think.

Love the food options here! They have a lot of options of pupusas. I ordered the chorizo with queso fundido!

Ordered 2 pork & cheese with 2 mix ( I didn't see of taste the beans) Horchata is different but still good and flavorful. Limonada amazing. Relish for Pupusas is delicious. Red salsa has flavor, green is spicer not as much flavor. Ate them so fast i forgot to take a picture read more

Good food amazing people The taste of the pupusas is really good and the salsita is even better! We try to go as often as we can! Even if its 30 mins away from us it is worth coming all the way over there for the food! The only thing is the open kind of laate read more

I absolutely LOVE this place! The food is delicious, they have amazing service & amazing prices! Most importantly they're open almost all day every day; I highly recommend the corn atole (when available) & the chorizo & mixed pupusa, this place is a fave ______ AMO este lugar!

Amazing food. The best pupusas I have ever had hands down! I'm Mexican-American but I taught in a community with lots of Salvadorans and lots of parents that loved to bring pupusas to teachers and this place ranks right at the top for all of my pupusa experiences. The restaurant is owned by a local family and they do amazing job. They are extraordinarily busy so you might wait a few minutes for your food but it's well worth it! You must come here if you're in the area! read more

La Pupusona - Pupusas de camarones, chorizo, etc - Salvadoran Near Me - El Paso, Texas

The food is good BUT hours are super inconsistent, the orders take forever, they prioritize online orders, and it's a shame they're never there. I want to love this place so badly but I can't when they never show up. read more

These pupusas aren't bad. I came on a weekday evening and only 1 other person was there. I still ended up waiting a bit which isn't a bad thing, means they make those pupusas from scratch. I don't remember the 2 types I got but they're alright. I was even amazed to be able to find pupusa in EP so no hard complaints. read more

I've been in El Paso a little over a year and have only had pupusas once over in central and hey were delicious ! Back in the bay I would order pupusas all the time at this little restaurant in walking distance from my house. I've been craving some so I yelped nearest pupusa and lone behold this truck is about 2 miles from me! What luck :) you can call in, order there, or place an order online. I opted for the latter. Process was super easy/smooth. I did notice that if you order through Yelp VS through google the prices are a bit different. For example the pupusa de chicharrón is $3 on Yelp whilst on google it's only $2.50? Not that big of a difference just thought I should mention that. Anyway the pick up time online vs in reality are pretty significant too. My order says pick up at 833p, it's 853p and it just came out. I mean I figured it would be longer on a Saturday night but I feel like they should be a little more accurate on the times even if it is longer than usual. Just my opinion ‍ now on to the food. The al pastor was my least favorite it had the least amount of flavor and little pineapple chunks. The chicharrón and the beef fajita ones were absolutely delicious omg! I ordered a couple with extra chicharrón but it wasn't marked and I couldn't tell which had the extra meat don't know if that was a good or bad thing but either way they were amazing! It comes with pickled cabbage which compliments the pupusas very well. They were piping hot even after an 8 minute drive. The green salsa that came with it was not good but the red sauce .... for 9 pupusas it was about $30. Longer story short I will definitely be coming back! read more

Service was fast and friendly. The prices were great and excellent variety of pupusas. They all tasted very good until we found two hairs in one, then not so much. We ordered 8 pupusas and there was hair only in one of them but that was enough for us. We took them to go and we were not willing to drive back to return it. Let's get your people who make the pupusas some good hair nets, make sure they are worn properly and it will be perfect. read more

Over priced and not so great tasting. I was excited at first, but after trying it's nothing like the authentic homemade ones. Don't waste your money and be turned off by pupusas by this place. If they were a little less I'd be more forgiving. I've had some of the best in a hole in the wall Pupusas joint in Houston. Cheaper and better. I tipped them as much as I paid for them. read more

Ordered 1 Mix and 1 Al pastor Mix: 5 Couldn't taste the chicarrón nor the beans... Really convinced I ate a quesadilla Al Pastor: 5 Tasted like a pepperoni pizza Although, The breading was well made Have no idea what the coleslaw was. Didn't eat it. read more

I'm half salvadorean and half Mexican and was born and raised in California. I grew up with alot of diversity and where u could find all kinds of food. As of 6 months ago I moved to El Paso and then was like holy fuck there is not much diversity here!! So u can imagine how EXITED to find a salvi spot!! ...but was it any good??? ..it was great!! I loved it...its pretty authentic, my grandmother cooked salvi food for a living so I can definitely be a good judge lol. The only reason why I say pretty authentic is because the chicharron is different but that is normal when it's large sales compared to when u make them at home. The curtido wasn't fermented enough the time I went but thats because it was made fresh..and they run out quickly! But maybe if they did it the night before it would be even better But regardless I still give my paisanos 5 stars because they r bomb, just a little tweaking here and there but that's because I'm just very particular lol but I know all my tejanos and Mexican will love it too read more

Delicious food & great prices. Staff was very fast and friendly. This is definitely one of the best food trucks we've been to.

Waited over 40 minutes for an online order. The food was nothing write home about either. First and last time going. Prices were fair and staff is friendly read more

As a 100 % salvadorean I can say this is not a real pupusas, the corn Doug (masa) was raw, the "curtido" it was over fermented (no fresh) and tomate sauce was too water down, plus the portion is too small! Not enough for 3 pupusas. My wife ordered "yuca con chicharrón" (yucca root whit pork) literally count 5 small pieces and 6 small pieces of pork (WTF) plus the waiting time was 35 minutes and no space to seat! I visited Maryland, Los Angeles, Houston, Washington and other cities and I have eaten pupusas and never paid more than I paid in this place. Definitely are overpriced, is not worth it. Not recommended read more

Came way out of our way to try and get some of these pupusas we'd heard so much about. So this is a food truck out in the north east side of EP located in front of a car lot. They have a small dining area which is currently closed due to COVID and a menu of about 20 different pupusas to try, as well as pasteles de pollo, calabaza, y queso (chicken, squash, and cheese) which are phenomenal! The more traditional pupusas were great, chicharrón, revueltos, spinach, shrimp (camarón) were all very good. Very flavorful and so soft. I saw one on the menu that was made of Pastor, this particular one, to me, was not that great. I can really do without it and while I appreciate the effort to try and make something new and original, this probably would have been better with better pastor meat, there was a big lack of flavor in this pupusa. All in all, I'd say 4.5 stars and seriously some of the best pupusas I've had. Keep in mind, they make everything fresh so there is a bit of a wait but it is worth it. read more

El Paso Home of Tex-Mex food and Mexican restaurants every corner. Don't get me wrong I love the Mexican places here but I was missing the Central American representation. I lived here for a year and couldn't find any place. Until La Pupusona came. And oh my god, Everything here is amazing. It reminds me of home and the pupusas are simply amazing. They have everything from bravo snacks to Kolashampan. The music adds a nice atmosphere and the ladies here are the sweetest. They do accept card and they are an outdoor facility. I will come back here again! Love it! Update Review June 21 2109: Something so perfect has gone into a different direction. Their pupusas went from being big, tasty and reasonably priced into small, burnt and overprice. I don't know what happen. The atmosphere is still great but the pupusas are not the same anymore. It is still the only place you can get a decent one in El Paso. Hopefully they can figure it out because it a shame that they are no longer great. read more

This food stand is super delicious. I've had pupusas multiple times at various places before, and was excited to try this place out when I found it on Yelp! I've been here twice now: one time for a vegetarian meal and another time to try the ones with meat in it. Vegetarians: You will NOT be disappointed. There are over 5 choices, and they're all different. The pickled topping that they give you is really tasty and only makes the pupusas even better. Meat-eaters: The meat is well seasoned, and I didn't have to pick out any fatty or chewy pieces of meat. I loved the Al Pastor one! Time & Convenience: I couldn't tell how many people were ahead of me since it was cold. The person who took my order offered to take my order to my car when it was ready. I thought that was a very sweet offer, and was very thankful for that option. There is a table available outside where the food stand is. This is more of a food truck after all. They accept card/cash! Staff: Like I've said before, the people here are super sweet, polite, and give recommendations according to what you like. Often times, people do not give serious recommendations and it can take away from your experience. Not here! read more
