This is a small hole in the wall taco place right off the highway - super dangerous for myself because it's only a few exits away. We have done carry out only here and have been pleasantly surprised at how fast the order is ready, the ingredients are fresh, and everything is perfectly seasoned. The service is okay. The food not so much. We all ordered tacos (Asada, Adobada, Lengua, and Pollo). Pollo was dry and tasteless. Lengua was good. Asada was okay, nothing spectacular but edible compared to others. Adobada was the worst, we couldn't even eat it. It tasted like bland and soggy tofu but looked and felt like raw/undercooked eggs. We stayed at an AirBnB right near here and we're recommended this Mexican restaurant for authentic food. It was delicious and deserves 5 stars. They are taking Covid seriously by providing hand sanitizer and masks are mandatory except when at your table. The staff are all very friendly. The atmosphere is great with locals and truck drivers so you know the food is going to be good. We ordered the beef balls and vegetable soup which came with fresh limes, a side of rice, onions and cilantro plus soft flour tortillas. We also had a side of Guacamole. They came with cilantro and onion with cabbage in another container to add to the tacos along with some excellent salsa. The red was the typical hot salsa and the green was amazing, I think avocado based salsa. I tried my best to order in Spanish even though the ladies there spoke English. I decided to look up what was around me and I had been craving tacos so this had to be the place I had to give is try. The food was delicious! The tacos asados (beef) with the salsa omg! Perfection! If you like cilantro make sure to ask for more. I opted out the cabbage. The barbacoa tacos were good and very filling. The Takero burrito was full of deliciousness! I might have asked for the tortilla to be cooked a bit more just because that is my preference. The chorizo taco was good but since I get heart burn I only got it to try it out and didn't finish it. And thick chunky slices of vegetables including: Mexican squash, carrot, potatoes, cabbage and corn. It also comes with red rice, you can opt to have it on the side. Lemons, flour or corn tortillas. The caldo is delicious!!! It is probably the best caldo de res aside from home made, take it from my husband who is a truck driver and has eaten mexican food all over the US west of the Mississipi. Apparently this is a remodeled "hole in the wall", according to my companion. It definitely looks like one, flies included, so I was looking forward to the yummy food. What a DISAPPOINTMENT! The staff was friendly enough and trying to keep the place clean but the tables were still sticky and THE FLIES! I ordered "camarones al mojo de ajo" and it was obvious that everything had just been taken out of the Smart & Final or Costco containers and mixed it all together quickly. The fries were inedible and looked rubbery and 100 years old. I was able to salvage the shrimp after scraping off the prechopped garlic globs with a tortilla and some of my friend's rice (Costco brand as well, I am very familiar with it since I don't cook much). At least the rice was tasty and the side salad seemed fresh. Large TV on the wall helped keep some people entertained.
