Worst food ever Tampiquena steak was hard and flavorless…read more Guacamole was not edible and gross. We still ate this plate except the avocado, because it was edible but the flavor was not there. The chilaquiles came with hashbrowns and 2 eggs. The whole dish was inedible. The hashbrowns were so salty and the green salsa tasted like it came from the can. The whole pale was left uneaten. The nachos were also not good. Beans and tostadas were good, but the meat was off and the guacamole was so old with a dark green/ brown. This plate was picked on but not even half was eaten. Everyone arrived home with stomach aches. We let the waitress know the food was bad and she apologized and mentioned she would let the manager know. We left and the manager checked us out but he never even acknowledged anything. 78 dollars in the trash. I'm not sure how this restaurant is open but at least we now know this restaurant we will never return to.

Ordered the 25 Flautas, 5 Tacos and 5 Enchiladas Family Pack along with a Gordita plate and one kids meal (nuggets & fries) The consensus from the family had the flautas as the favorite option with gorditas coming in a close second. The tacos were good also but a little greasy. Enchiladas were also tasty but would have been better with chicken. Happy with the local option for some delicious Mexican food. Looking forward to future visits!

The restaurant was very clean and had cute decorations, the food was really good, but the service was just okay. Our server refused to speak English.. Coming back to the Southwest is always a treat!…read more I know I'm going to get tons of choices of Tex-Mex restaurants to eat at. Upon touching down in El Paso, Texas, home to Ft. Bliss Texas, my family said Julio's Cafe Corona was a must. I don't complain and am easy going so off we went. We came for lunch and the restaurant wasn't packed. No wait and that meant we were immediately seated. I'm a tortilla soup addict and so I had to try. It was just okay, it did not have chicken, which it should have. My family insisted I don't eat (Yelp knows I do) so they forced me to get a plate. I chose the lunch flautas. It came with guacamole and refried beans. They were delicious! I'm not big refried bean person but the Tex-Mex beans always seem to be delicious. I've learned some restaurants add bacon to their recipes and it makes sense, of course I love them. I'm a pork lover! These were just okay and didn't appear to have that hint of flavor. I didn't eat them. I noticed that they don't serve rice, probably better for my waistline but in comparison to other Tex-Mex spots, you do get both rice and beans. Ambiance is typical of a Mexican Cantina. Would I return? If I lived in the EP, possibly, but if I'm returning and just have a few days this wouldn't be my go-to spot. Good but not the best in the city.
