Visited Julio's on. Friday evening. The food was great. I had a ribeye and I must say it was one of the best I've had in El Paso. My wife had the mole enchiladas and they were amazing. Our waiter Hugo was phenomenal. Great food, great service and great music. read more

Coming back to the Southwest is always a treat! I know I'm going to get tons of choices of Tex-Mex restaurants to eat at. Upon touching down in El Paso, Texas, home to Ft. Bliss Texas, my family said Julio's Cafe Corona was a must. I don't complain and am easy going so off we went. We came for lunch and the restaurant wasn't packed. No wait and that meant we were immediately seated. I'm a tortilla soup addict and so I had to try. It was just okay, it did not have chicken, which it should have. My family insisted I don't eat (Yelp knows I do) so they forced me to get a plate. I chose the lunch flautas. It came with guacamole and refried beans. They were delicious! I'm not big refried bean person but the Tex-Mex beans always seem to be delicious. I've learned some restaurants add bacon to their recipes and it makes sense, of course I love them. I'm a pork lover! These were just okay and didn't appear to have that hint of flavor. I didn't eat them. I noticed that they don't serve rice, probably better for my waistline but in comparison to other Tex-Mex spots, you do get both rice and beans. Ambiance is typical of a Mexican Cantina. Would I return? If I lived in the EP, possibly, but if I'm returning and just have a few days this wouldn't be my go-to spot. Good but not the best in the city. read more

We went to Sunday morning buffet. The tortilla chips were stale. The food was bland and appeared to be sitting for a long time. The fruit was difficult to eat and seemed like it was not fresh and also stale. My 8 YO didn't finish a cupcake because the bread was so dry. The arroz con leche didn't deserve a second spoonful. The coffee was simply poor. I may never go to another buffet again. Looking around the table, it appears nobody in my party of 25 finished any of their plates. The service was pretty good though. read more

I sat at the bar around 6pm Friday night. It wasn't busy yet. 2 bartenders were very helpful, immediately got water, as well as complimentary chips and salsa, which was tasty. I ordered a house margarita rocks. There was WAY too much salt on the rim and the drink wasn't quite full, but it was delicious, just small. I ordered the arracherra beef fajitas. It was $30 but came with sour cream, guacamole, a baked potato?? And a tomato soup! Weird combinations but whatever, I'll give it a shot. Guys, these $30 fajitas were regular old plain ass simple beef fajitas. You can buy these same beef fajitas anywhere for $15. Don't be fooled. Unless you really want a baked potato with your fajitas, find something else on the menu, this isn't it. They had many other offerings that looked good and were reasonably priced. I was expecting nice juicy think slices of beef with my fajitas, but not today. It's ok. Overall decent experience. Fajitas were good enough, just not worth $30 to me. Margarita was 8.50 There was a wait for dinner service when I left. read more

I got recommended this by a friend that is from El Paso - and I am so happy I ended up going bc the food was amazing and I was only here for two days to visit family. I got the chicken mole poblano, a Bloody Mary, and an horchata. The horchata was very authentic, and I have had amazing horchata considering my Mom's side is from Mexico. I loved the vibe of this place and def recommend to anyone that is visiting or in the East side of El Paso! The mole was extremely flavorful and great !! Our server was super nice read more

Went for lunch today with husband. Ordered lunch special 3 course meal. After we finished eating, we were informed that the Ice-cream desert was no longer available. We were offered the flan in lieu of the desert. At paying time she charged us for the flan. I told her that we only got it because it was in lieu of the ice cream. Well, she was argumentive and went and told everybody at the bar about how we didn't want to pay for the flan. My husband said to let it go. Not going anymore. Food was lousy anyway. More like disgusting. Neither one of us finished the plates and I wanted to eat the ice cream to take away the disgusting flavor from my mouth. read more

Ate there today 4/25/26. Walked in the door and it smelled bad figured it was just my sinuses and allergies messing with me. Nope, service was horrible, carnitas sucked, wife's tacos were absolutely flavorless. Wife ordered a michelada and they brought some green crap in a glass and a beer to the table, no attempt made at making the drink. Absolutely go to Taco Bell n save yourself some time and frustration read more

Meh! Thin and flavorless salsa. Kind of stale chips. Over cooked flautas. The guacamole seemed like it came out of a plastic package. Pretty good chili rellenos. Decent margarita. We sat at the bar. Had to ask water and a glass for the beer. Prices were reasonable. Disappointing experience for sure. read more

I have always enjoyed Julios Cafe Corona. It had been many years before my last visit, and the food did not disappoint. I visited on a Saturday a bit passed noon. We waited about 30 minutes to get a table and we were sited next to a party of 24. Only one waiter was taking care of all of us so the service was not the fastest. It took about an hour to get our food and two hours all together to leave the restaurant. I ordered the Cochinita Pibil and I was impressed how good it was. I'm looking forward to come back just to have this dish. Julios Cafe Corona has Beautiful decor, calm ambiance and ample parking lot. read more

Extremely underwhelmed. While their happy hour seemed like a "good deal" it was unavailable (yes, the perplexity I also felt) at the time I arrived. Bar was closed so table was required. Food was not even mediocre. Again, extremely underwhelming. Def headed to a taco truck after that visit. I usually don't give bad reviews but this one was due particularly if you are going to charge as much as you are! Oh and it took literally 20 min to get water & 40 min to get my food but everyone around me had their dishes etc within 20 min of ordering AFTER me. read more

**This is a 3.5 star rating.** We were visiting El Paso for the first time, and the baseball game was rained out. So, instead of ballpark food, we came here on the suggestion of a family member who is also a local. Overall -- good. The house salsa, anywhere I patronize, is the most telling part. This salsa was served cold (thank goodness) and fresh. There was a hint of heat and onion, along with the tomato, and not much else. Perhaps that's the style out here (I'm from East Texas), but a few cilantro leaves would've put this stuff over the top. I ordered a combination plate, which is par for the course for me on a first visit. I really enjoyed everything. It is definitely New Mexico-style, and all was served hot and fresh. (Some spicy salsa would've made it better.) The queso here is also different than what we were used to, but in a great way. It has bite ... and REAL cheese. Wonderful. Atmosphere here is clean. Service on our visit was timely and courteous. We would definitely be regulars here if we didn't live 750 miles away. read more

What a great restaurant. It's large and airy ....and busy but we had no problem being seated (just the two of us for a late lunch), service was fast and the food is delicioso. Don't get a margarita (they are really good too, but it's a big glass). Our server was friendly and professional, and from what we could see, the others were also. It was a little loud and I can only imagine the energy level at regular lunch or dinner hours. We will definitely be back on our next trip here. read more

Hugo was a wonderful waiter. He was very attentive. The food was amazing. I had bean tostadas. They were very tasty. My daughter had chicken tacos & a baked potato. We also had the quest fundido. It was good as well. They also have a breakfast buffet on the weekends but we did not utilize this. There is plenty of room at this restaurant. There was even a baby shower going on in one of the rooms. I would definitely recommend this place to eat even read more

Great lunch in less than 30 minutes.. Need I say more? I will. Covid restrictions lifted and indoor dining allowed again. Julios on Joe Battle was just right down the street form work for a quick bite to eat. Lunch special included several items. I went with the Gordita plate and a bowl of tortilla soup. The soup was tasty, not too spicy. Not long after my plate arrived, 3 fat gorditas with a side of sour cream and salsa. When I say fat, I mean a generous amount of beef and potato inside the maiz gordita. Delish! Man I was stuffed leaving the restaurant...considering I have a lecture to sit thru, I'll be in a food coma the next few hours.. oh and seated, served, and payed all within 30 minutes.. can't beat that.. read more

I'm here in El Paso for a few days and I was craving Mexican. As we was traveling back and forth on the highway, I noticed Julio's. I went in first to inquire about having a liquor license (don't judge). Refugio or Santiago (I forgot his name) was our waiter. He brought us over some chips and salsa which was good. I ordered a margarita and crossed my fingers. The margarita was ok but better with the shot of tequila I ordered. I ordered the steak chimichanga, queso on the side. I didn't want any onions, guacamole or sour cream. He said the chimichanga had a few onions and so did the queso. Ok that's fine, (yuck) my coworker ordered dish with chicken with tomato paste. Our food came and he put that queso you see in the picture in front of me, before I knew it I said ewww what is that!! No Mexican Restaurant I've been to in Texas made queso with giant bell peppers looking like snails. Now don't get me wrong. I respect the dishes because it's El Paso. I gave my coworker the cheesy snails and I took his rice because my dish did not come with rice. My chimichanga was a five and my coworkers dish was a 5. I don't think it's fair for me to rate the restaurant any lower because this is Mexico country and they should know to make Mexican food. Let me add, you don't get chips and salsa to go with your leftovers. I rate Julio's a 5 anyways because of the good service. read more

I am always looking for something different to eat...me and friend wanted to have brunch and we found Julio's cafe. Funny that's it's called a cafe because to me it's more like a restaurant. It may not be located in an upscale area but the inside definitely is. It's a good size restaurant with and great looking bar. There's a private room for special occasions but the restaurant is big enough for more than one occasion. Oh FYI, I came in wearing a sweatshirt so I felt a little under dress. But, no one looked at me funny so I was good :). To start: our waiter Hugo introduced us to their bottomless Sunrise Mimosa's which was only $4. And it kept on coming! Hugo was so attentive. FYI they also have bottomless Margaritas ... so then Hugo offered us the menu but he also recommended the Buffet. He's so awesome that he can name everything in the buffet. So of course we went for It. The buffet had all you can eat pancakes, Mexican potatoes, eggs con jalapeño, Asado Cuerco, barbacoa, menudo, chicaron, and more. The barbacoa and the asado tasted so authentic I went for seconds!!!!! Then there was the table with assorted fruits and Mexican bread. Oh it was all so yummy! Oh one more thing the place has a live vibe so it can get a little loud at times plus they had live music!!! This was an awesome place to eat, I'd come again!!! read more

Julios ALWAYS has consistently good food! Everything I've have eaten here it's worth it. We tried their chimichangas for the first time- they were delicious ! I love the salsa because it is mild yet flavorful- it takes like they used fresh ingredients straight from a garden! Every time we go, we bring home the tortilla soup with all the trimmings separately-- it is the best in town! We have at least two meals from an order of soup it is great! The restaurant followed all the Covid protocols, the wait staff was excellent as usual, and the nice roomy feel of the place makes you feel at ease. I highly recommend this restaurant! Thought we'd give this place another try but yet again we were deeply disappointed. My BIL came to visit us and we decided to meet up here. We ordered nachos which took forever to arrive and when it did they were lame- a bit cold and no flavor. Guacamole is a joke. I ordered my kids they chicken fajitas and myself the Mexican plate. We waited for 35-40 min for the food and when mine arrived it was COLD. I mentioned it to the waiter and he brought it back the way it was but I suppose being "reheated" under a broiler wasn't long enough as it was still cold . The kids fajitas arrived but they were steak and not chicken... ugh. Overall- just a bad experience all around. Not worth it for anyone to go here!! read more

This place just is AWFUL We used to come here often, but not ANYMORE. They lost a valuable customer We were waiting our food for such a long time, very slow service. Not to mention, they made one of our meals WAY TOO SPICY. Also. My steak was burnt!! Burnt to the buttcrack of a piggy on a hot sunny day. Not to mention, the waiter was SO rude. He was literally like "ok" WHEN WE COMPLAINED!! The vibe there was so rude. 0 stars on this visit!! WORST PART? Julio Coolio!!! What a bitchin place! Margarita Galore! My friend Steven almost had an aneurysm because of how good his world-famous enchiladas were! This was my first time trying Julio's ever and it was a great choice, especially after not having been in El Paso for 3 years. This was the perfect "welcome home" restaurant for me to try. I really recommend trying any of their margaritas. I had the coconut margarita and it was so damn good and a decent amount of alcohol in it. For my meal I tried their combination plate with the chille relleno, cheese enchilada, taco w/beans and rice. Our food and drinks came out in a timely manner and the inside atmosphere is very classy but welcoming. This is a great spot to take a date or just have a nice meal with some family/friends. Our waiter was exceptional and convinced me to try another margarita that was also on-point. One thing I forgot to mention is that the complimentary salsa is crazy good and really hard to stop eating. I would say that this is now one of my favorite Mexican places to eat aside from Kiki's. read more

I visited this place tonight, and I have got to say our server James gave us outstanding service... we visit often for their Corona Special Dish (emoladas) it's like enchiladas but with mole sauce. Anyways it always on point at Julio's. Their service is usually good all the time, but James really paid special attention to everything, including our cocktails. Julios is doing a good job during COVID. As you enter you have to sanitize your hands and take your temp. They have a little station that you just put you forehead near. All tables that available are properly spaced out as well. My Corona special plate was on point, but I do recommend you order mole sauce on the side. Just because it is so good and I love to have a good amount on every bite. My top shelf margarita was on point. I always get the large instead of the extra large... the extra large is a bit too much liquid and not nearly enough tequila lol... I always get a side shot of tequila with the large to give it an extra kick... It's big enough to drink through the meal... that is the only drink you need. Lol I really enjoyed my experience there tonight and I highly recommend if you're in the mood for good Mexican food and some awesome margaritas. They also have a nice cocktail menu with other yummy drinks... since the bars are closed still... check it out! read more

Aesthetic Appeal & Atmosphere: The atmosphere is very nice and well decorated. For nice days, I would imagine that the outdoor porch would be a fine spot to enjoy a fine meal. Service: Bringing in a party of 12 to be attended by one waiter is no easy task. Our waiter handled it well with a perpetual smile, great accuracy with our orders, and with much patience. Meal Quality: Their salsa was very good as it had a nice texture and just the right amount of kick. I ordered the Cochinita Pibil an it was very enjoyable. The pork in the orange and achiote sauce was delicious! I followed up the entree by enjoying their sopapillas and I was not disappointed!
