This place is awesome. Came out this way for a baseball tournament and stopped in to kill some time and grab a bite to eat. The servers were very nice and greeted me with a smiling face at the door. Excellent chips and salsa (I recommend asking for the spicy green salsa. It's the best I've ever had) Ordered the 3 chicken taquitos. Perfectly crispy and served with some guacamole. Filled me up for only $5.99. Can't wait to come back to this place again the next time we play games out here in Beaumont! read more

Food here is always consistently good. Almost always busy, but they seat you quick, bring steaming hot food to the table fast and then you and your full belly are on your way home happy. Staff is usually friendly, unless it gets busy. You can't go wrong with the combo meals. I love the bean and cheese burrito as a take home item. Chips and chunky salsa at the table. Horchata is a 4/5. There really isn't another Mexican food restaurant as good as this in the area, and I have looked. Not as good as the steaks we made, but hot and delicious. This is my favorite Mexican food restaurant. They have everything you want for very reasonable prices. Chips and salsa very good with unlimited refills. This is the 3rd time here. The first time was great, the 2nd time OK but the 3rd time was horrible! The quesadilla ( carnitas) and it was so greasy and runny we had to say something. The server took it back and we ordered a chili verde burrito ( all meat with cheese). It was dry and tasted terrible. It actually left an after taste. The ground beef taco shell was stale and fell apart. The chili relleno was just ok. I don't think we're coming back. El Charro is a fantastic place to take the family. Service is excellent. Food comes out promptly. Combination plates are a tasty value that satisfy. Kids items are a little pricey, but the food gets gobbled up. I highly recommend the the chicken tacos and chile rellenos. read more

We were in the Cherry Valley to visit friends. We asked about a good place to eat, and they suggested El Charro. We were greeted so nicely and immediately seated. It has quite a bit of seating and a nice bar area. My husband order Chili Verde and a side salad, I had Carnitas. Both came with Rice and Beans, my husband always likes all beans. Their salsa was spicy hot and delicious and very good tortillas chips. All the staff were helpful, and our food arrived quickly, my husbands side salad was a very nice size also. Their food is good but has gone down hill in the last year! Their prices have gone out of control! Ala cart taquitos are $5.50 for 3 ..Really?!! They have started to nickel and dime you; charging $1 for a side of onions or a side of sour cream! They need to realize that's how you loose customers... Good returning customers! read more

Omgosh! I had no idea until today about this little hidden gem. Well, it looks small from outside, but once in the door you will find a good size restaurant with many tables. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The food was out of this world! I had a tostada salad with shredded beef and my lunch date had the combo with a chile relleno and taquitos (chicken). The salsa was flavorful and the food colorful. I will be back again again and again! 10 out of 10 forks from me! read more

First time here and will definitely go back. Finally found a good Mexican restaurant in Beaumont. Food was yummy and service was awesome! I have been going to El Charro for years. I have always been happy with the service and food, but I think greed has trickled in. Whoever heard of CHARGING for jalapenos in a mexican restaurant? I ordered the Nachos Supreme and it only came with onions, sour cream and guac. I asked for some jalapenos and some extra onions on it and they charged me extra for them. When I got halfway through the nachos, the cheese was not melted, but still just shredded on the chips. Just really dissapointed. Have talked to the servers and they do not care. read more

As much as I once loved this place its just not the same. Lunch for 3 was over 30$ and its a disappointment they still have no lunch specials. They charge to add onions to a very bland cheese enchilada. They only offer one size drinks, and the service just isn't the same. I don't see my family going back. Unfortunately this place has gone downhill. They raised the prices quite a bit and the quality has dropped emesnly. My friend ordered a carne asada burrito and when he started eating it he realized there was only a handful of carne asada. He then told our waitress and she took it back, she then returned and told us that the cooks and manager told her to come ask him if he wanted another one, he told her yes (obviously he wanted another one) the next one to come had less meat than the first. Not authentic, not good. The beans are tasteless, and I've rarely had anything close to acceptable. They NEVER get the to go order right. I would rather drive to Yucaipa, Moreno Valley or Palm Springs to get good Mexican food, even though I live 3 minutes from El Charro. read more

Wife & I drove out here a couple of Sundays ago after a personal friend recommended this place. My wife really loved her chili rellanos and I was very impressed with the flavor of my carne asada burrito. The horchata tasted fresh made without being too sweet. The chips tasted a bit old as if they had come out of a bag, and the salsa had a tinny aftertaste. Service staff however were absolutely top notch and very pleasant. We will absolutely return to this restaurant next time we go shopping up in Oak Glen. read more

I've been here three times...... let's start off with that.... My grandparents have always lived in this area, and my parent's bought a house here two years ago..... Out of all the little Mexican restaurants in the vicinity, El Charro definitely takes the cake!! Even on major dinner holidays (Mother's/Father's Day, Easter, etc) and even on the weekend, it never gets crowded. People come in at a constant pace, so that it's never empty. The servers are probably the most friendly that I've seen in the most recent while. Very attentive, articulate, they never rush you, and just always seem to be happy to be there. They always start you out with their own-made chips and salsa and aren't stingy at all. **Just a fair warning, the salsa can be spicy sometimes** Their drink cups are HUGE and you get free refills. I personally recommend the Chicken Fajitas plate, as I always get that when I'm here. The chicken and vegetables are cooked to perfection, the chicken is always moist and the vegetables crunchy, and both are flavorful. It also comes with either Flour or Corn tortillas (in threes) but you can ask for more at no additional charge. You also get a separate plate of rice, beans and cheese, with guacamole and sour cream. It truly is a very satisfying experience and I don't think you could ever be disappointed. read more
