I committed the cardinal sin of going to a restaurant already being full from lunch-what is wrong with me? Unfortunately work sidetracked me and I ate lunch late which means that my 6 o'clock dinner reservation with a bunch of friends from church was impacted. Boo to beat laid plans going sideways. Since I didn't wanna miss out on the food and fellowship, I decided to attend my friends dinner and although I really didn't want to eat anything, the smell of the delicious food did invite me in. My smarter and better planned friends enjoyed their food with some ordering food to take home to their hungry spouses while others ate every last bit. I really enjoyed the opportunity to be able to order off the kids menu and add two dollars so that one was not pressure to have a humongous meal although I really wanted to. My one non-Mexican loving food Friend also love the chance to order a hamburger and fries and she was delighted with the opportunity to still come and have a flexible meal plan. Well out with a big group. We also ran into two other friends that frequent this restaurant a lot. Prices were good. Food was good. I think I'll be back next time on an empty stomach and with my family. read more

Delicious and yes I recommend this place. Food and service is good. I feel at home here. When you're done eating order some flan to complete your experience. I will be returning for sure. Don't know why they only have 3 stars they deserve a 10 if there were 10 stars. I also ordered a plate to go for my son. He ordered a beef chimichanga and he scarfed it down. I just ordered the enchiladas Mazatlan and it was discusting, I just hope I don't get sick because They gave me tortilla chips and a couple of the chips had green mold On them I don't know if they fried the tortillas with mold or what. This place is mediocre at best, and hardly authentic Mexican food. The cheese dip and salsa are nothing really to write home about, but they aren't bad either. I ordered a chalupa, enchilada, and rice and beans. The rice and beans are pretty much the same as any other Mexican place, but things went downhill with the rest of my dish. My "chalupa" was a round tostada shell topped with retried beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and guacamole. Sorry guys, that's not a chalupa, that's a tostada. And yes, I verified it with the waitress. My enchilada was a small, taco sized flour tortilla filled simply with ground beef, and topped with the he same cheese sauce they use for the cheese dip. My wife had the chili con queso, a taco and a enchilada. Her enchilada was the same as mine (no meat options other than ground beef), her taco was what you'd expect from Taco Bell, and her "chili con queso" was a hard corn tortilla shell (like a tostada) with ground beef on it and more cheese dip sauce. The food didn't taste bad, it just had absolutely no culinary effort whatsoever and was equivalent to what a college kid would make himself for dinner in his dorm room. read more

When this place first opened several years ago (and I lived in Republic), I visited frequently and always went away satisfied. I went again recently for the first time in 5 years expecting to be impressed again. I was somewhat disappointed this time. The food was still good, and service was fast. I especially like their salsa which is very flavorful, but not overwhelmingly spicy (just the way I like it). But the interior is showing its age and needs redone. And the server forgot about us once our order came. It's a good thing I didn't need additional items or I would have been upset! I may give it another chance if I'm in the area again, but this visit has made me reconsider my nostalgic attachment to my once-favorite Mexican restaurant from my former hometown. read more

Food is great. But service is terrible. Once they get your drinks they seem to never want to refill. After we get drinks it takes close to 10 minutes to place an order for food. Went here for lunch. Quickly seated and drinks delivered right away. Chips and salsa were good. Order was taken and within 10 minutes the food was at the table. All 4 orders were correct and everyone was very happy with the meal. Would recommend to anyone and would come back again. read more

Worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. Worth the drive to springfield or drive down the street to Wendys. Anything is better than this place. Stale taco shells, over greasy meat and tiny burritos. They use tomato paste in their salda! Enchilada sauce seemed more italian than mexican. I love Mexican food and have eaten at a lot of place, and wow. The worst. Skip and save your money. I used to love, LOVE this place until I had to send my order back. I'm very very allergic to bell peppers, so much so that I could end up in the hospital if I eat them. My family and I have been going here ever since it opened and 98% of the time I order the same thing, shrimp quesadilas (please excuse my spelling) which does come with peppers. Every time I explain that I can not have peppers on it. They know me and my family and should know that I can't have them. My dish comes out and I check (have to be sure!) and there is a small slice of pepper in it. I explain again and ask for a new plate. Again it comes out but all they did was pick the pepper off, I can still smell it and so I can't eat it. I can't eat anything that has touched bell peppers. I ask two more times for a new plate and even talk with the manager but it still has pieces of pepper in it. I told them that I would never come back, and boy do I miss it, and I haven't. It may seem like a small thing but when it can cost you a stay in the hospital it's worth it. read more
