Nice little place with an easy going and decent ambiance. Teama margaritas are tasty. Chips and salsa to start are good - chips are warm and salsa has the perfect heat for a northerner like me. I went with the server's suggestion arroz con pollo which is grill chicken on a bed of rice suspended in cheese sauce. I poured the remaining salsa from my chips over the top and it was perfect. Ada Ohio restaurant that is actually still open. Been there a number of times during football weekends. Please understand Morton's in Cleveland is having trouble staffing. This place has great Mexican food. You will have to wait most times....efficiency/staffing is not their strong suit. That being said, everyone works incredibly hard, and holds multiple roles. Hidden gem! Was passing though Ada, and decided to stop in. The shrimp fajitas and steak quesadilla fajita were delicious-- about as good as you can get anywhere in the US. One of the best restaurants in Ada. Personally, I'm a big fan of the chips and queso. They also make good margaritas and daquiris. For lunch and dinner, I've gotten a variety of things and haven't been disappointed. I occasionally will get the fried ice cream, but it's not as good as others. They pretty much just use corn flakes for the outside. Atmosphere is fairly authentic, at least for rural Ohio. Can be kinda noisy on busy nights, but the service staff usually can handle a crowd pretty well. Also, a good place to meet up with friends and larger groups. read more

Truly the finest Mexican food on this side of the Mississippi. You'd think it was the second coming of Jesus. No joke, the only bad experience I've had here is when I finished my meal, then woke up from my dream I was having. Has the best food, and killer margs. We take my mom there to cause she loves the drinks and likes to have full conversations with the servers in Spanish. You walk through the door and you're instantly transported from the cornfields of Hardin County to south of the border-like that one movie, called Jumper ? I don't know, but I don't care. Everyone should eat here at least once, and if you already have, go again. I have been blessed with many things in life, but having El Campo close by is near the top of the list. read more

Love it here. I like to stop whenever we are in town visiting my son at ONU. Portions are great as my son likes to gather all the leftovers to take back to the dorms. Had the veggie quesadilla and enjoyed it thoroughly. I thought the regular salsa was a little tomato heavy or light on cilantro. Their hot salsa ion the other hand was fantastic. Very hot and a great flavor. Don't ask for it if you can't handle heat. read more

El campo is probably the best tasting restaurant in town... HOWEVER, it's cleanliness and lack of service have deterred me from returning. In December, I visited the restaurant with several friends. I ordered a veggie quesadilla and a full pitcher of margarita to share. The quesadilla was fantastic so imagine my surprise when I go to pour the margarita and I notice something white and lumpy floating around in the pitcher... almost like a mound of undissolved sugar. Upon further investigation, I find that that mound is actually a crumpled up napkin that is floating in the margarita. Thoroughly grossed out, I request a new pitcher... even though I probably should have given up right then considering it is absolutely ridiculius that the bartender was able to overlook this massive white blob in the pitcher as he was filling it. The bartender gives us a new pitcher but was rude and barely offered so much as an apology, instead acting as though we were wasting his time. And even worse, after getting the second pitcher and my friend pours it in his cup, we find flies floating around in the liquid!! Utterly disgusting... and the bartender still charged us about 25 dollars for the pitcher, giving us only a few dollars discount for the incovenience. Will not be returning. read more

If you're driving through Ada this is the Mexican restaurant you want to stop at. Excellent chips and salsa along with steak quesadillas. Although the food is cooked well, the experience of the setting was pretty good to average. Nothing special but a good stop nonetheless. read more

Not a good experience with this place. Got our take out order wrong by not including a meal and then made us feel like we were lying about not getting it instead of apologizing for the mistake and making it right. So it required another trip to pick it up and when we got it home the second time it was the wrong food! Plus we got charged for the more expensive meal we originally ordered! How frustrating. We will not waste our money and time again on a restaurant that treats their customers this way! read more

This is definitely the best Mexican in Ada. El Campo has good food and service. I would recommend going there if your in the area. The only problem is that once I asked for a bean burrito and they gave me a beef burrito. But the waiter probably didn't understand my English. There are other waiters and waitresses though so that usually won't be a problem. read more
