I got the chicharrones with rice and beans and potato salad (comes with half an avocado). Every aspect of the meal was delicious. The pork was perfectly crispy, the rice was soft and delicious. The beans also paired perfectly with the rice. The staff was also super sweet and friendly. I would definitely come back for more and for breakfast. I saw a lot of New York breakfast friendly options on the menu for a very reasonable price. They take cash, credit card, and apple pay!

L was pretty surprised that he liked the food so much. We've had Dominican food plenty of times, it's not something we eat often but since this place had great reviews, I wanted to try it; the pernil was really good here. It wasn't overly seasoned. I did throw away the excess oil from the pork, other than that, it was tender, juicy and delicious. The lil salad was a great side to the fatty meat. Will definitely return to try other items.

And I'm saying that as a Dominican with a Dominican grandfather who cooks just like this. I have NEVER been able to find a place that makes rice the way my grandpa does. Like that real, home-cooked Dominican rice that actually tastes like something. And of course I don't always want to bother him when I'm in the mood for good Dominican food... so I'm genuinely so happy I found this place. Ordering was super easy and pickup was quick. Prices are also really good for the amount of food you get. And everything I've tried has been delicious. The beans though... oh my God. I'm still thinking about the beans. For the amount of food you get for the price, it's amazing! I can't wait to keep ordering from here, and I'm honestly already thinking about placing larger orders for events in the future. If there's one local business in Queens you should support, it's this one. Hands down one of the best Dominican spots!

The place is a hole in the wall but has such good food. We ordered carnitas with yuca and another order with French fries for the kids. The carnitas is super crunchy and tasty with lime on top. The chicharrones de cerdo and chicharrones de pollo are honestly some of the best around -- super crispy, flavorful, and always fresh. The taste is excellent every time. The prices are definitely a little higher compared to other places, and the portions aren't the biggest, but the flavor makes it worth it. We usually dine in and also order takeout, and the experience is always good. The place is clean, service is friendly, and they move fast. The only downside is the parking -- it's tough in this area, especially during busy hours. But even with the parking situation, this spot is still absolutely worth the visit for great Dominican comfort food.

The hostess from the coffee shop next door comes out and tells us that they are also Mr Mario and that we could order from the same menu. Taking a quick look, we decided to sit in the coffee shop. Ambience: a modern cafe vibe, like a larger more upscale Starbucks. It was relatively empty on an early Friday night. The menus weee on IPads, so you have to navigate and scroll through several screens. Food: we ordered: They were out of Rib soup, the special of the day?! Tostones with guac and chicharron - fried pork belly with guac and tostones. Comfort food at its finest 5/5 Chicken consomme - a little salty. 3/5 Grilled chicken cutlet - well seasoned, cut thin and tender. 4/5 Service - very friendly staff. The drinks were off I couldn't exactly point what was wrong. Maybe the Coke was flat I'm not sure but it just wasn't good. As for the food, my friend got the steak (well done which he says is the only way that steak should be eaten, I beg to differ) as well as the chicken. The food is incredibly land, and my chicken was honestly wet for a lack of better terms. I can't recall the last time that pechuga (chicken breast) was wet and that's probably because it's not supposed to be! The only reason that I gave this place two stars is that the employees here were nice, but I wouldn't return especially when there are many better spots nearby- not necessarily for Colombian food but great food in general.

We asked about happy hour since Instagram said they had it, but turns out it's not a thing anymore. They owned the miscommunication and took care of us, offering $8 wine, discounts on a couple appetizers, and even a complimentary extra glass of wine to make it up. We ordered a few things off the tapas menu. The popcorn chicken, the octopus, uni and foie gras, short ribs, and beef tacos. The short ribs leaned a bit dry, but everything else was on point. Standout by far was the uni and foie gras. A little pricey for 4 pieces but very delicious. Big shoutout to the 2 staff on site, very friendly, warm and responsive throughout. I would recommend Tavern 157 if you're in the area looking for something casual with good drinks and food and not in the mood for Korean food. Just double-check happy hour before you go, as they mentioned a new one may be coming. Overall, a really enjoyable first visit.

Started off with the Pupusas De Pollo con Queso and I immediately understood why people fight over these things like it's the last bench at the gym. Thick handmade tortilla, seasoned chicken, melted cheese, pickled slaw, tomato sauce... simple setup, heavyweight flavor. Then the empanadas arrived looking innocent. Big mistake. These yellow plantain pockets stuffed with steak stew were so flavorful I almost started acting emotional in public. Sweet plantain outside, rich savory filling inside... elite combo. For the main event, I ordered the fritanga platter because apparently I enjoy eating like a retired heavyweight champion. Crispy pork belly, sausages, yuca fries, fried plantains, potato slices, and green arepas all piled together like a beautiful cholesterol Avengers team-up. Every bite felt like my cardiologist was slowly shaking his head somewhere in the distance. Worth it. Washed everything down with a Batido de Plátano -- creamy banana shake blended with milk and vanilla ice cream. Basically dessert pretending to be a beverage. No complaints from me. And because self-control left the building hours earlier, I finished with Quesadilla Cheese Bread from Raul's Baked Goods and the Pan Tostado cookies from La Exquisitas Bakery. Pineapple jelly inside those cookies? Dangerous behavior. Queens really be out here feeding people like they're preparing them for battle. El Vicentino ambiance didn't just give me dinner... they gave me a full-contact eating experience. If you leave hungry, that's honestly a personal decision.
