We've been in Seattle more than 10 years, searching for some decent Mexican food. This place wins, hands down. We are moving in a month, and so sad that it took us this long to find this place. The mole is incredible. The street carne asada is fabulous. The roasted veggie tacos are unbelievable. Homemade chips and guac, ditto. read more

Was thinking this place was going to be great! Reviews certainly make you think that. Unfortunately it was complete opposite. Way overpriced for portion you get. Do they use the same sauce for all dishes??? My friend didn't even finish her meal due to the sauce being way to sweet. Mine was as well but I was hungry and the portion wasn't that big. They brought us cold chips and the dip was kiddie portion. No condiments so we had to ask. Sauce on food was so sweet we asked for some lime thinking it would help offset the sweetness and the waiter just brought us ONE slice for the both of us‍. We had to ask for another. The chicken in both our dishes was dry and stringy as well. Maybe it was a one off but they had NO customers when we went. Unfortunately the price, quality and portion will prevent me from going back. read more

I'm a big fan of supporting family owned/small businesses, especially in times like these. I think they possibly also do tailoring. The restaurant doesn't have a lot of sit down places (probably due to Covid). You go up to the counter to place your order. We had the molotes and enchiladas. Both were pretty good and you get a decent amount of food. Prices are probably in line with other places in the area. Definitely recommend! read more

This restaurant is small and absolutely fantastic. The place is colorful and immaculate. They serve the best Mexican food I've had in the US. The food is authentic and rivals what I've had in Mexico. The salsa was bomb. We got an al pastor and mole burrito. Everything was fresh and flavorful and super filling. I devoured the burrito because it was good. I wish there was some stronger flavors for the mole, but the chicken was tender and just a good burrito. read more

WOW!!! I stumbled across this place on Yelp one day and the Molé had been on my mind ever since. We finally ordered take out and we're so impressed. Taquitos, Molé enchiladas, guacamole and a quesadilla... all fresh, flavorful and fun! Our toddler destroyed his dinner! The hot sauce had a warm, smokiness and we were treated to a tasty warm, sweet beverage. All of their to-go items are compostable too!! We will be ordering again! read more

Very friendly and charming spot directly north of the credit union on Ambaum. We've picked up takeout twice in the last two weeks. The inside is brightly decorated and clean and the front and back (parking) of the outside equally tidy. As other reviewers have stated it is apparent how the owners have put thought into how to operate during reduced social distancing and I appreciated all the touches. I will return for sure, now that I have my favorites. My son loves the tacos with carnitas and I also liked the taquitos. We've had the carne asada and chicken salad and can recommend those as well. The veggie tacos were ok, mainly because of the Brussel sprouts (they might rotate the veggies so just ask!). Love the fresh and chunky guacamole and chips. So happy to have a great Mexican place that is conveniently on my way home. read more

We chose this spot when COVID closed our previous favorite Mexican place (Casa Mixteca). However, El Cabrito's food has won us over and has become a weekly tradition. My husband and I have ordered take-out from El Cabrito probably three times since moving to Burien two weeks ago. Delicious carnitas and enchiladas verdes--plus staff are super kind and thoughtful, as other reviewers have mentioned. We ate at this new Oaxacan style Mexican restaurant in Burien yesterday. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. We had the daily special (Enchiladas Verdes) and the Lamb Plate. Both dishes were very tasty and large enough to fill us up. They both also came with a nice spicy soup. The place has a small dining area that is clean and nicely decorated. The parking lot is small and a little challenging getting in and out of due to the busy Ambaum Blvd traffic. We really liked the place and hope they are successful. read more

Thinking of Samoan Island food last week so I went here. Unfortunately, it is no longer a Samoan food store. Dont hestitate to order something and dine in. I walked in with a welcome envirnoment. It is now El Cabrito restaurant. It didnt hurt to try a taste of Southern Mexican food. Boy oh boy it was worth my money and time here. I ordered the lamb plate and it was soooo good. It had soo much flavor in it. It came with rice and black beans and sauce to top it off. I was too hungry I devoured it clean and forgot to take a photo. I will be back in hopes to bring my son who loves Mexucan food. I hope to see the Taro with steamed coconut milk on your menu. Thank You for your awesomeness customer service and the cheif too. This is an outstanding choice for Oaxacan food in the South King County area. Spotlessly clean, fairly fast, delicious and friendly. It has many menu choices and my go to favorite is the mole chicken. It is a generous sized meal. Parking can be a bit challenging come up but after bank hours you can park in the credit union parking lot next door. Take a break from the other Mexican restaurants in Burien and try this one! read more

Every time I go to a Mexican food place I try the chicken mole to decide if I like the restaurant or not. This is hands down the best mole I have ever had. The employees are super nice and always give free chips, soup or a desert. The food is super affordable ($12 plates and $9 for 4 tacos) that this place is perfect for a dinner for 2. I live really close and have came 2 times and both times the food was excellent. It is my new favorite place to eat in Burien and don't hesitate to tell everyone about it. What a nice surprise! Our dinner plans fell through and we scrambled for a backup. I'd passed this spot multiple times and wanted to give it a try. I've lived in Burien for almost 4 years and have been trying to find *the* Mexican restaurant. This was it. I ordered the enchiladas with pork and my dinner mate got the burrito al pastor. The tortillas tasted handmade and the pork was tender and flavorful. Fabulous smoky salsa on the side. Everything tasted like a lot of love and passion goes into their food. I crave their Asada burrito. The last bite is the beast because all of the goodness concentrates down at the bottom. The Carnitas is good too. My husband thinks the tortillas are a tad tough but still likes them. If they grilled the burritos they'd be even more awesome. They offer free Horchata. Quick and friendly service. A must try. We ate here for the first time and loved it. The place is immaculate and although there are only 3 tables plus window seating for 12, it is large enough to accomodate. The food is delicious, and the servings large. The owners take great pride in their restaurant and it shows. If you don't want spices, let them know. We didn't know much about Oaxacan food but we think it is a spicy palate. We ordered the lamb and carne asada plates. Huge portions and since I don't like spicy, they redid the lamb w/o the spice. The rice and black beans were cooked to perfection and the salad was very fresh and generous. The guacamole came in a good size bowl, fresh chopped and with a huge bowl of chips.
