Very cute little spot with outdoor seating and a few parking spots too. And the gentleman who served us was very friendly and kind despite speaking nearly no English. Food was amazing! We ordered the Tlayuda with Carne Asada and the chicken soup. Tlayuda was so flavorful and unique. The tortilla was crunchy and chewy and smoky. So fantastic! We will be back!
El Cabrito is solid! So far one of the best Mexican spots we've found in western Washington so far. We had some tacos and a burrito. The service was quick and friendly. The space was pretty clean and quiet. Parking in the back of the building was easy. Definitely will be a regular stop after coming home from the airport. We
This restaurant specializes in Southern Mexican (Oaxaca) cuisine. The dishes are unique, and have amazing flavors. I ordered the Lamb Plate and Ribeye Tacos, both dishes were extraordinary. The customer service was very good. I highly recommend this restaurant, if you want to try some unique and delicious Mexican Cuisine.
Came here for the mole. Heard they make authentic Oaxacan style mole. We tried the chicken mole plate (4 thinly sliced chicken breasts with 4 small corn tortillas) & chicken mole enchiladas (3 enchiladas) Both were really good! The rice was so flavorful with good garlic flavor, wish they gave more rice though! The price was a little steep for the amount of food we got, $18/$20 a plate that included less than about 1/2 cup each of rice & beans! Would definitely be back if the portions were bigger, unfortunately, I left still feeling hungry.
El Cabrito is a small restaurant right off of Ambaum Way. It honestly doesn't look anything that special from the outside, but inside, they have lots of colorful Oaxacan decor including traditional Oaxacan clothing displayed in a small closet. Although indoor seating is limited, they have additional seating out back on the patio. They also have a small gravel parking lot behind the restaurant available for customer parking. El Cabrito doesn't have a super expansive menu, but it has all the essentials - tacos, burritos, plates, and a list of specials. When my boyfriend and I went on an autumn weeknight, they had specials that included Butternut Squash Tacos and Spicy Camarones (shrimp), but I assume they seasonally rotate. After perusing the menu, I decided to just go with the TACOS ($12). They give you a plate of four tacos and let you choose two types, and so I chose the chicken mole and the carne asada. My boyfriend is a big enchilada fan and thus ordered the CHICKEN MOLE ENCHILADAS ($16). All I can say is HOLY MOLE! Their CHICKEN MOLE is the BEST mole I've ever had in my life- slightly sweet, slightly savory, and just a little bit of umami from the chocolate. It is rich, creamy, dark, and everything mole should be. And of you won't take my word for it, El Cabrito's mole is so good that they actually have a short article from a newspaper taped to their window raving about their mole. The CARNE ASADA tacos were good too, but definitely not as outstanding as the chicken mole. Next time, I'm getting all chicken mole tacos or possibly just a plate of chicken mole! Portions are alright, but not huge. My boyfriend was honestly still hungry after finishing off his plate, but I was satiated given that I wasn't super hungry to start. Service was decent. We got our food within 10-15 minutes after ordering and they have a self-serve water station. No qualms here. Overall: 4/5 for food, 4/5 for service, 4/5 for atmosphere
Was simply blown away by this place. The service was exceptional, the lady who helped us was so kind and welcoming. We ordered so much food and we simply loved all of it. The salsa that was served with the chips was delicious, it had great flavor with a good building heat. We had the molotes which is something I've never had before but it was to tasty! It had a spicy sauce on top that had a great spice without overpowering the other flavors. We also shared the coloraditos mole enchiladas, and it was instantly my favorite mole sauce I've ever had. The black beans and rice that was served with it was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. We also shared an order of the tacos, two pastor and two carnitas. Both were beautifully seasoned and cooked perfectly. Somehow we still had room for dessert after all of that, (we didn't finish everything) and the flan did not disappoint. I loved the decor of the restaurant, you can tell that it was thoughtfully curated, also obsessed with the little pillows that were on the booth we sat on. Overall such an amazing experience and cannot wait to return!
The food was amazing , great outside seating, good ambiance , the food was fast and delicious. Amazing service. The only reason this place doesn't get a 5 start is price point. I got 5 tacos, 2 drinks, and 1 burrito for a total of 68.00. I don't mind paying it but a bit strap for what I got. Non the less I will definitely be back and I will pay the 68 again, PSA the 2 Flans were 12 dollars, also amazing.
I have only eaten here once but would again if in Burien. I had Mole Chicken Enchiladas plate which was very good - also available in Pork came with good fresh rice and beans and tortilla. It's a small cozy and colorful place. Service was attentive and nice. There were a few parking spaces in back. Also a covered patio to eat out back if weather is warm enough.
Super good mole enchiladas and molotes. The space is really tiny with limited indoor seating but outdoor seating is also available. I tried the mole enchiladas with pork and the molotes and I thoroughly enjoyed both items. Well cooked and the plates the food were served on were pretty. Will definitely come back to try their other dishes, especially their verde enchiladas and tlayuda. Also super kind service!
Tacos: Chicken Mole and Pastor. Very good. Service: Prompt and polite. Lots of outside seating behind restaurant.
Came here on a whim since I was in the area and the food was pretty good. It's a small place with maybe 3-4 tables but looks like there are regulars that come here often. Parking is a little weird, but we ended up parking at the bank next door. We ordered the molote and the toquito as it's not something we usually see on the menu so we wanted to see what it was. They are cook to order so it does take a little time: Toquitos- meaty and crunchy and goes well with the sauce provided. Molote - fried potato balls??? Interesting item, a little bland but again, if you eat with the sauce, it's pretty good. People here are nice and hospitable. Nice place to try in burien
Popped in for a quick dinner and the restaurant was empty (also 5pm, valid), I got the molotes and my partner ordered the pork enchiladas, we got the pico and chips to share. Food took a bit but it was super hot and fresh. Chips and pico were super good, tomatoes were perfect. The molotes weren't bad but I found them lacking some flavor, the avocado sauce was really good and I wish there was more of that, I didn't taste much chorizo. The enchiladas were pretty good, strong mole flavors. Service was super friendly.

Wanted to check out a local joint w great reviews. El Cabrito exceeded all expectations! Super cute tiny restaurant w outdoor seating. Food was phenomenal, owner was sweet. I had veggie quesadilla, bro had tacquitos. We were both really impressed w our dishes. She opened just 6 mos ago, in the midst of the pandemic. We were happy to see several people stop in for food while we were there. Definitely recommend. We'll be back. read more

Delicious, authentic, down home Oaxacan cooking. I'm so happy I chose this restaurant for a quick birthday dinner. We had: lamb, enchiladas verdes (the special of the day), and chicken mole. All three had ridiculously tasty sauces. All three were generously portioned. The owner and workers were gracious, welcoming, warm, and friendly. The restaurant itself is along Ambaum Blvd with just a few parking spots in the rear. Please support these guys! (I checked to see if there were vegetarian options and it seems that a few of the dishes could be made with beans instead of meat, but I just couldn't say no to the chicken mole.) read more

Pure deliciousness! The food here is really good. Sure, there are a bunch of taquerias in Burien, but the food here is made with real care and attention. I ordered the tacos dorados and some chicken soup and was very satisfied. The flavors are delicious, almost as good as my mom made them (almost). You owe it to yourself to come try them out. read more

Ribeye tacos were slightly spicy, but full of flavor. Meat was very tender. Rice and beans could use a pinch of salt. Nice employees with easy access to parking in the back. read more

Gave me comfort food vibes, definitely recommend if you're nearby Burien. The food was really fulfilling and fresh. Customer service was great, super friendly and attentive but not like hovering over you. Inside is very cozy and homey, super cute decors. Will be coming by again! (: read more

Sweet little hole in the wall in Burien. They had one last order of empanadas with shrimp and crab left and I scooped it up. The filling was chock full of shrimp and crab in a delicate white sauce. The plating was beautiful. It was topped with shredded cabbage, cherry tomatoes and two sauces. I was offered and took a small container of chipotle salsa which was great on top. It came with chips and salsa and a plate of rice and beans. The black beans were incredibly tasty - earthy and soft, seasoned just right; I couldn't stop eating them. read more

My husband and I had the Mole Enchilada plate and it was delicious. Enchiladas were cheesy, mole sauce was plenty and very flavorful. Small whole in the wall family restaurant very clean and tidy. Nice outside dining that I'm sure at night looks beautiful. The place is small but it's a busy business. The lady at the register was pleasant and welcoming. read more

Tasty spot for lunch in Burien. I had the Carne Asada Quesadilla. Meat was well cooked, cheese was good. Nicely put together and ready quickly. I do wish it was more seasoned but still very good. Guacamole here is also delicious read more

Excellent find!! You could almost miss that it was even there from the street. They had a phenomenal outdoor patio that was dog friendly, and they thoroughly cleaned all the tables. Masks, clean, super covid-19 safe! The food was EXCELLENT, and as a California transplant, I don't say that lightly. The pico de Gallo was the first tel that this place had it going on. We enjoyed the green enchiladas with roasted vegetables and the lamb plate, both which were exceptional. I was blown away by how friendly and warm the staff is! Can't wait to come back. read more

Have only known about this place for a week and I've already been there twice. Have tried most menu items at this point. Green enchiladas are incredible, and the tlayuda comes in a very close second. They make tamales on Wednesdays and they are also very tasty. The space is adorable and everyone working there is kind and helpful. Please go visit them!! read more
