Let me first say I'm Argentinian and I have been away from home for around 20 years so I miss me some argentine food. We tried the empanadas from el argento many many years back when they only had a food truck. Fell in love with them but unfortunately they moved to Auburn and we lost track. We now moved to Bellevue area and got to drive to El Atgento after many years. Let me tell you, the food is authentic and very fresh!! Delicious and full of Argentine flavors. The empanadas are almost as good as the ones I make at home () the milanesas are great and the French fries are the best!! Service is super friendly, prices are fair for the portions and quality, and overall is our go-to for Argentine food. I had lunch here today. I was just driving by and saw their sign advertising Argentinian food. I am sure glad I gave it a try. I had a beef empanada as an appetizer and the Bondiola Melt. A roasted pork sandwich with melted mozzarella and a green chimichurri sauce. DELICIOUS! The sandwich had a generous portion of thick slices of roast pork covered in gooey melted mozzarella. The chimichurri sauce spiced things up with a nice fresh veggie/herb/spice taste. My only regret is that I didn't order extra empanadas to go. The young lady working the counter was polite, friendly, helpful and efficient. I'll be back soon. This one is a keeper. read more

I've had their Sandwiches many times before..,and with out a doubt, their all very very good and delicious! I highly recommend to get their Lomito or the Choripaty. El Argento serves authentic Argentine food for money real people can actually pay. My son and I tried the steak and chicken milanesa sandwiches. They were flavorful and lemony, just how I like them. Get them "completo," you won't be sorry. The fries are surprisingly good, too! My husband loved his chori, so much so that I didn't get to try it. We live 30 minutes away but will be back, for certain!!! My only suggestion is that orders be taken as people arrive instead of taking one order and finishing it before taking another order. I ordered from the food truck when it was at my workplace. I ordered a steak strip sandwich that came with fries. The price for this was $16 after tax. It took 20 minutes to receive my order (most of my lunch break). The fries are quite good, but the steak in my sandwich was very hard to bite, had to tear and rip and it was not pleasant to chew. For $16 I expect moist delicious soft chewy meat that comes apart easily. Everything else the truck offers is very expensive as well. You get slightly more fries with any of their fry focused dishes, and they charge $3 for that. An egg is $1. I understand that there are expenses that must be met, but this is just too expensive to justify patronizing this food truck anymore. read more

I finally got a chance to try out El Argento last night at ChowDowntown in Bellevue. Standing in front of the window, I spent several minutes explaining the menu to my companion and deciding what we wanted. When we finally ordered, the girl said they were out of EVERYTHING but milanesa. Selling out over an hour and a half before the end of the event is poor planning, but not marking the sold-out items on the menu--or at the very least giving us a verbal heads-up, since she could see us the whole time--is infuriating and shows that they don't respect people's time. Considering that the menu consists of a 3x3 grid of copier paper, it would've been so easy to cover up or mark the sold-out items. We waited 20 minutes for one milanesa sandwich and fries. Yes, 20 minutes for the ONE item of which they weren't out. The girl who took and packaged orders was sluggish and apathetic, and she displayed no sense of urgency whatsoever. No updates or apologies for the delay were given, and by the time we finally got our food, the live music was over, people were starting to clear out, and we didn't even feel like eating anymore. The sandwich was only alright and did nothing to alleviate the situation. I'm from Argentina, and I'd never seen chimichurri on a milanesa or on fries. While not a bad match in itself, the chimichurri soaked into the bread and fries, making for very soggy and messy food. In Argentina, a standard milanesa sandwich is topped with mayo, and fries are served plain. I get that El Argento is trying to appeal to exotic-seeking Americans by putting chimichurri on everything, but they should consider serving it on the side instead of soaking all the food in it. While I could chalk up part of my experience to bad luck, one thing is clear: the owners of this truck don't know how to run a business, and I have no desire to give them any more of my money. read more

I literally went to this place like 3 times in the same week lol. My family and I were so excited to discover a Argentine food truck! My family is from Argentina and here in Washington finding anything associated with Argentina is rare. Anyway, on with this review. The menu consists of very traditional Argentine food. I usually get the empanadas that come with the chimi churi fries, and a milanesa sandwhich. The beef empanadas are totally delicious and legit, REAL empanadas. My only concern with them is that at times they are a little bit too fried, but that's understandable since they are coming from a food truck. The milanesa sandwhich is very good as well I usually get steak, it comes on french bread I believe and it's the bomb. And for the chimi churi fries, well just to warn you once you get your hand on those you'll end up eating a ton more. The chimi churi the owner makes is the amazing, and pairing it with fries is genius. 2 times out of 3 I've purchased the chimi churi he sells, it's only $5 and I like to support his business (: It's also very good on EVERYTHING.
