Clean and bright restaurant with friendly staff. We tried the mole enchiladas with black beans and rice. Chicken was high quality with a rich mole, flavorful beans and tender rice.
We drove from the far east side to El Antojo Pablano after seeing photos of their mole. It is their specialty and we weren't disappointed, we ordered the Enmoladas De Pollo which are enchalladas with mole sauce. they also have pollo con mole on the menu. The enmoladas were exceptional, the mole sauce delivered, it's smokey, rich, just the right spice level and the consistency was spot on. The chicken and tortillas were also excellent, everything comes together in a crave worthy mole dish. Service was excellent, and our experience was worth the drive.
I think the most perfect chicken tinga i have ever had. It's like what you imagine chicken tinga should taste like, but 10 times more flavorful with the perfect amount of smoky adobo. And the nopales are very very good. There's really intentional attention to details as well, both on the plate, and with the decoration of the restaurant itself. I mean just look at that tile on the table!!! So cute, will absolutely be visiting again.
I got the Camita sandwich. It was good and I'm glad they had so much success as a food truck with the sandwich. It had a lot of different components that complemented each other, but the menu is so expansive, I should have gotten a combo dish. The service was OK. The place is clean and quaint as always.
Nice mole spot in Tucson. Got the chicken. Nice rich flavor and the chicken was soooo tender. I'm not huge mole fan but I still appreciated it. Highly recommend the coffee oleo too
I came here a few years ago and they had a food truck and were in the process of working on the restaurant. I was excited today when I came and the restaurant was not only open, it was packed! The parking lot only had a few spots left and it was so nice to see them busy with customers. The breakfast is from 9-11 and had just ended so I asked the server to surprise me with an order of something she thought was good. My only request was "not too spicy" haha because I am a gringa! She chose two gorditas for me. One had ground beef and potatoes and the other one was beans and cheese. These are fresh they are not fried. Made with fresh corn and stuffed on the inside. Very wonderful flavor. The menu here is very expansive so there is really something for everyone and the prices are good. The decor is lovely, the staff was very helpful. I will come back and bring company with me next time. Thanks.

Place was busy and it took about 15 minutes to get seated. Everyone enjoyed their food. Azteca plate had a lot of different items on it. Chips and salsa were good. Clean bathrooms.

I had a mixed experience for my first-ever visit here. It was 3:30 and I was headed to a 4pm Friday bday happy hour on the west side of town but still hadn't had lunch. I Yelped a few places en route and settled here. It was the Friday before Memorial wknd and rush hour was non-existent. So were the patrons. For the entire 30 min that I dined here I was the only person inside (staff said it was really unusual too). I felt as if I was rollin like a mob boss Lol. The owner's son attended to me with alacrity throughout my stay. He recommended the mole (their fame) but I was in the mood for anything but chicken so he steered me towards the al pastor (diced marinated pork) Huaracha entree ($17) and the red chili beef gordita appetizer ($6.25). Although both prices are on the high side for their size I ordered one of each. The Huaracha resembles a 6x10 oval caramelo with a layer of pinto beans, al pastor, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and avocados. The pork tasted a little tired or over-warmed but the marinade was good. the 4-5 thin avocado slices were partially brown but edible. The rest of the ingredients were super fresh. The gordita, however, stole the show. Although small (about 5 inches across) the delicious red chile sauce had a nice mix of beef and diced potatoes. And the still-hot, split gordita was crisp yet tender. In hindsight, I should have ordered a variety of gorditas, period! The biggest disappointment was "minor" but, to me, speaks too closely about integrity. The handheld bill-generator calculates the tip After the sales tax is added and it's something you'd never catch unless you requested a printed receipt (after you've already paid). In other words, your tip options of 18 or 20 percent are displayed WITH Tucson's 9% tax included in the total. That's kinda sly and definitely uncool (see pic of bill). Parking is easy and free in their own private lot. Bathrooms are gender specific, cute, and clean. Decorations throughout are wonderfully immersive in Mexican culture - from tiling to numerous paintings and photos on the walls. I will be back, wiser from this experience, if only to try their mole. Ps, as I left and continued west, half a block further was my other choice: Toto's Tacos. They had about a dozen parking spots in their private lot but every spot was occupied... hmm.
First time visit and certainly not my last. This lively Mexican restaurant is famous for the mole sauce of Puebla, and rightly so. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is available but get there early as it has a huge following! Service was superb. Quick, responsive, friendly and not too busy to share menu suggestions with a smile. I had the pepin chicken mole, corn tortillas and black beans. Outstanding choice. The dining room is an homage to their Puebla heritage. Colorful, with lovely prints, ceramics and Mexican handicrafts. Just charming. Next visit I am going for breakfast!!! Update: I went the next day for breakfast. It was delicious and an inspired meal. Spinach/corn tamales topped with eggs and side of black beans. Yum-o. You've got to come and see for yourself! read more

I came here a few years ago and they had a food truck and were in the process of working on the restaurant. I was excited today when I came and the restaurant was not only open, it was packed! The parking lot only had a few spots left and it was so nice to see them busy with customers. I love their art from Mexico in the restaurant. Such a cute place. It's one of my favorite Mexican places in Tucson. Vegetarian and vegan options and for me, a great opportunity to practice Spanish. Their stuffed gorditas with mushrooms-- super juicy, I also love their tostada with beans (veg, lard free) and nopal salad (fresh and yummy). Service is good and I love their Jamaica juice because it's tart, not overly sweet, the way I prefer it. Their huaraches etc are housemade and delicious. read more

The food was really good! Their pork was really good! It took a while to get our food and we never got my husbands tortillas that were supposed to be with his meal but it was ok without them. So it is worth the wait as the food is very good! read more

First time at location and I enjoyed my meal. I ate the Piqian plate which had chicken and rice. I had never had Piqian sauce made with pumpkin seeds. I am used to flavorful sauces. This sauce was a bit bland. But it did taste good overall. My friends mole was too sweet for me. My other friends order tacos, they looked delicious. I also order tacos of tripe. In my opinion the tripas also lacked flavor. And they don't sell any alcoholic beverages. Service was great. The place was clean. I would go again and try a different dish. I saw a bunch of people on Reddit claiming this to be the best Mexican in Tucson, so I had to check it out. Overall it was really good although I might not crown it "the best" personally. My enchiladas were a little too tangy and sour for me, but I still enjoyed them. My husband's bistec ranchero was really flavorful! It's definitely a dish worth checking out. The chalupas as an appetizer were phenomenal. The green was flavorful and mild, while the red had a nice little kick to it. Service was quick and friendly on a Friday night. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with plenty of parking. Overall a great restaurant to try. read more

Looking for a different Mexican Restaurant through yelp and this one came up. Basically all great reviews and awesome pics that made up our mind. We decided to give it a try and thankfully were not disappointed. My only "boogaboo was that they don't sell alcohol. The food was wonderful, steamy hot and so tasty. I got the flautas and my hubby ordered a Milanesa torta and a chicharron taco. That taco was our absolute favorite. Service was awesome, fast and friendly. It was nice and quiet while we were there. Low key chatter amongst families eating. Overall kickbutt find! We will definitely be back! read more

Authentic Puebla ... we've actually been to Atlixco, Puebla! We were very happy with the Mole Poblano (their signature) and the Rellenos. Each was a unique full flavor compared to American typical and the local Sonoran. The host and waiter were enthusiastic, courteous and very helpful with a minor substitution (provided a "garnish" in lieu of rice ... lettuce, tomato, onion ... which made me very happy). Simple yet very good black beans. Like the Topo Chico. They had lovely colorful Mexican style graphic paintings with the names and icons of several local/Puebla villages, including Atlixco (where we were called out by the local kids as "gringos", not a tourist area). read more

A friend and i wanted to find a restaurant within walking distance from our hotel. A local friend recommended El Antojo. The menu made my mouth water, had a hard time deciding but ended up with the Huarache since I've never had one. Amazing! Unfortunately they were out of the choco flan. Will definitely return to try the gorditas next time I'm in AZ. read more

A tiny oasis of great homemade food. We heard an interview of the owner on a podcast and decided to give it a try. It's a small, bright and spotless family run establishment, easy access and plenty of off street parking. There is the usual Mexican fare, but the two house specialties are the homemade mole and their tortas cemitas. I decided to go for mole and there's two dishes that feature mole: enmoladas de pollo (chicken enchiladas with mole) and mole del pollo (chicken with mole). I chose the enmoladas. Service was prompt and friendly and the gentleman serving us was attentive and genuinely engaged. The dish came with obligatory rice and beans and the serving was ample. The mole was delicious and had a rich, balanced mix of spices. There were a lot of subtle flavors and a slow building background heat, but it wasn't "hot". Absolutely delicious. I was told that the mole was made by their grandmother in Puebla, MX using her secret family recipe and shipped to the restaurant. It can't be any more authentic than that. Reasonable prices. I'll definitely be back to try the cemita sandwich! read more

Was in the mood for some really good chicken tacos so glad I decided to order they were delicious season well and extremely fresh, The pico excellent cucumbers are so fresh and crisp, and their salsa is always on point. I've been here a few times and every time it has always been delicious. Staff is always friendly accommodating and willing to answer any and all questions you have about the menu. Pricing is very decent and you get a lot for what you pay for. read more
