I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ekte, and my overall experience was delightful. The service was exceptionally prompt. Although they had run out of the Ekte lager I initially desired, the alternative option, the freebird larger, had a pleasing flavor.
The restaurant's ambiance was quite appealing, with well-executed lighting and a touch of modernity in the decor. The staff was attentive, ensuring our water glasses remained filled and contributing to a comfortable dining atmosphere.
Now, onto the food, which was truly amazing. The salmon Smørrebrød I ordered was delectable, with no issues whatsoever. While it was slightly dry, a sauce such as dill or cream would have added another delightful flavor element to complement the freshness of the salmon.
The curried herring Smørrebrød was a delightful surprise, boasting well-balanced and flavorful components that left a lasting impression. The perfectly cooked egg on top was a delightful addition. As for the beef Smørrebrød, it had a wonderful flavor with a pronounced Dijon mustard taste. Despite its boldness, it remained thoroughly enjoyable. I also had the pleasure of trying the dill Akvavit, which was a tasty and full-bodied accompaniment to the smørrebrød.
Overall, Ekte offers a pleasant atmosphere, prompt service, and outstanding food. It was an incredibly enjoyable experience, and I intend to return soon. The only minor concern I had was the price, as the lunch totaled £51, which leans towards the pricier side. Nonetheless, it was still a worthwhile dining experience. read more
