    raw sausage

i came upon this spot last week when i was just meandering around the neighborhood. i stopped in today to study while enjoying a beverage and food. what drew me in was the combination of tea, coffee, drinks, and a smattering of plant based and meat based dishes. i ordered the iced matcha with spicy wontons and very much enjoyed both. the ambiance of the space was cool. the space was chill, aesthetically lovely, and filled rock music. before leaving, i ordered an egg-witch to take with me to school. i let the barista talk me into adding some sausage. i ended up being disappointed with the sandwich. i was expecting the handmade sausage to be flavorful, but it was bland, not even salted. the real turn off, however, was noticing after the first bite that the sausage was still pink and under-cooked. it's 2:30 PM now, and i don't get to go home and eat until 9 PM, so i am going to have a long day ahead. i can't believe i spent $10 on a sandwich i can't eat.

One of the coolest coffee shops I've been to in awhile. Coffee shop by day, a bar by night. The interior is cozy, dimly lit yet very open and modern. The barista was also soso friendly. We got the Cortado and a Dirty Matcha as our choices of caffeine and they're tasty. They were also very nice to let us bring some pastries from down the street in to have with our coffee. Would love to be back for their breakfast sandwich and to checkout their bar hours!

Wait, now either this or that? What does one get at such a charming and leisurely cafe? Either/Or was the destination of choice to meet up with a few of my friends in Portland. The cafe was the ideal space for us to catch up, sip on our beverages, and sit in during the rain. Lots of cafes are serving a mixture of caffeinated beverages and alcoholic drinks--Either/Or is one of them. The ambiance is free and easy, making it a great place to work, gather, or drink and chill. We met up in the late morning and there were some seats available. They have combined booths and tables for solo or small groups to sit at. The ordering process was typical of a cafe--browse the menu, order, and pick up your drink. Our drinks came out efficiently and warm which was appreciated. The menu is decent with an easy-to-read menu. They serve coffee, tea, seasonal drinks, various libations, and small baked goods. I was torn between a few drinks but ultimately chose their Lavender Fog Latte with Soy Milk. The drink was light on the lavender, warm and soothing, and beautiful with the blue! My friend called it a Smurf latte. My companion got a Drip while my friends got various lattes. Everyone enjoyed their drink and seemed like the customers inside also enjoyed theirs! As a visitor, I'm unfamiliar with the coffee shop scene in Portland but we were all happy campers at Either/Or! This is a casual neighborhood spot perfect to drop in or comfortably work at. We all enjoyed our coffee and tea drinks and brisk service. Find them off N Williams Ave with street parking.

I had a great experience at Either/Or. The eggs ray spex were amazing! The service was good and the vibe was great. I loved the live dj, it made it super fun. I went to either/or on a Sunday. It was pretty busy, but we were still able to find a table. Our food came out pretty quick too. The eggs ray spex sandwich was amazing! The homemade sausage really brought it together. All I've got to say is: wow. I liked the vibe a lot here. I'd definitely come back

Loved the coffee from here and such a cute spit!! The decor was marvelous AND they had a dj playing music. The person that got my order was super friendly (a plus anywhere). Definitely on my list whenever I visit portland!

My husband and I needed some caffeine to jump start our day and we love supporting local. This place is part bar part coffee shop and 100% Portland. I loved the ambiance of the place and all of the staff seemed super friendly. I got a soy chai to go and it was delicious. Loved the stamp they use on their to-go cups. They had gluten free baked items along with gluten full items, we were on our way to breakfast however, so I wasn't able to try them. I would definitely give this place another go.

Nice coffee shop with unique flavors. I got the matcha dreamsicle and maple nutmeg latte. Both were interesting change from typical coffee. Breakfast had some nice offerings as well with pork belly tacos or burritos and others. Food was delivered tableside, all others were self service including utensils. Seems to have nice bar selection for the evenings.

Interesting little coffee shop that has great drinks with the option of alcohol. While booze before breakfast is not the jam for me if it is for you definitely check this place out.

More like Neither/Nor. Grainy, lazy, poor quality matcha. Very disappointing. It should be whisked or at least stirred well. Waste of money

it's hard to have a portland coffee shop that stands out these days. it's either some kind of special gimmick drink or a trendy instagrammable tourist trap. EITHER/OR keeps things simple in a way that's refreshing to me, and seems to be doing all of it well! the baristas were very friendly and easy to chat with if you wanted to take a seat at their FULL BAR! such a great spot to meet up that isn't ridiculously busy and seems to be on the relatively easy end of snagging a spot to get stuff done. i had a vanilla latte that was, respectfully, yummy delicious. the vanilla and caramel sauces were made in-house, and i believe their lavender as well but don't quote me on that. highly recommend this shop as a place to unwind hanging out in trendy portland, a fun spot for sure. TL;DR: essence of portland without being over the top about it - love!

Stopped by on whim after a weekday morning workout class and now it's one of my new favorites. I went for an oat milk lavender fog, which was delightful. I've never had a lavender drink before so I don't have anything to compare it to but I can safely say it was DELICIOUS. I also ordered a breakfast burrito, which came with a side of salsa verde. Also v delicious. Don't be confused by the pick up counter. You'll still need to head inside to place and order regardless if you're taking out or dining in. Currently, masks and proof of vaccination are still required to dine in.

Boyfriend got the breakfast burrito and it was definitely the best burrito we/he has ever had, SO GOOD! I got the breakfast sandwich w/ the sausage patty, super yummy, the sausage Pattie's look hand pressed with onions and peppers. Coffee was delicious as well, very much recommend. We did spend almost 40 dollars though for our food and coffee... worth it in my opinion though. Very good service as well, everyone was very nice

This review is solely for their jalapeño stuffed breakfast patty sandwich. Great flavor, lots of sauce and cheesy goodness - if you like a little spice, this is a MUST TRY.

Pretty good food, but not a place to study after dark. The music is too loud and they keep lights off.

Great place to take a date you don't have confidence in. Their Chinese bowl consisted of a Slim Jim and Korean kimchi. And rice.

Inside is dark and cozy, perfect for a rainy afternoon or evening. My only complaint is there is a lot of wood and all the hard surfaces don't reflect noise so it's sometimes challenging to hear. They have a wonderful assortment of wines and not all local. For me, that's a good thing. Yes I love a Willamette Valley Pinot or a Washington Cabernet, but I get a lot of those when I'm visiting these areas, which I do frequently. At Muse you can enjoy a red from France, Spain, Italy, as well as local. Lots of whites and some bubbles, too. You can do a tasting of three half glass pours of your choice, or order a glass. Some nights they have tastings that they have preselected. Last night, based on Alex's recommendation, after telling him my preferences, I had the 2021 Crozes-Hermitage from Paris. It was a bigger red, but so smooth. Next I went with the Rioja Gran Reserva which was more fruit forward. Another winner. Their cheese and jam plates are fabulous, the cheese especially delicious, and pair perfectly with the wines. Have a feeling I'll be back frequently to this charming neighborhood wine since my friend works out next door, so it's a perfect meeting spot.

I order 4 half glasses and everything paired perfectly with the food. I came here on Sunday ($2 per oyster) and the wines were excellent and the food surprisingly good. MUST GET: - oyster with champagne from romaine guiborat. - hamachi crudo - roasted maitake paired with local orange (Buona Notte mortadella from Columbia George in Washington). Maitake was served with pinenut and rice crumble, which was delightful. I put the sauce with hamachi crudo in the roasted maitake and it elevated the taste. It can use a bit more balsamic vignegrette or lemon juice to elevate the mushroom taste even more. - dessert wine (2021 romaine ogereau, chenin blanc) was delightful. Very balanced. Subtle sweetness with perfect balance of citrus notes. A bit of apricot on the nose. A fine ending to the delightful dinner. Solid: Spaghetti with morel. Paired with 2023 Bruno verdi from oltrepo pavese Italy. I really liked the pecorino cheese that tempered the salty-ness of the spaghetti. I think the food would be better with a bit less oil. The spaghetti almost reminded me of the Asian noodles vs traditional spaghetti.
