Just wanted to update my review! I have been very impressed each time I come to this bar. I tried the Sunday special which is a burger and fries for $4.50 and oh my gosh! This burger is amazing. I usually don't order burgers because I just don't like them but I went with the deal and was very pleased. I also tried the Bloody Mary for the first time here and I ordered it not spicy and it was probably the best Bloody Mary I've had in a very long time. The service is spectacular as well. Our waitress (Christy was her name I think) was great and speedy. I'm picky and she passed my tests. The band (Adrenaline) was good. I HATED the amount of smoke! My jeans, shirt, jacket and hair smelled HORRIBLE! YUCK! My eyes were burning a lot while we were there too. The patrons were very casual and not the best looking bunch (with the exception of one of the bartenders- He was HOT!) but granted I wasn't exactly dressed up the night I went either. If you live in Katy, you probably have been here at least once. This is 'the' bar in K-town. That being said....you're still in Katy, which means if you're bored, which is more than likely the case, and you're too lazy venture downtown, you can make that quick journey to good old Einsteins. If you graduated from high school in Katy the past 20 something years you will probably run into the guy that kicked your ass freshman year for looking at his lady wrong. The place has a cloud of smoke that hangs over it and when you leave the smell will follow you. Besides that, the place has got a good selection of beers, the drinks are inexpensive, and they have a pool table and darts where you and your buds can drink pitchers and talk about high school. They get extra bonus points for having buck hunter! I can seriously drink all night by myself with that game in hand. Overall, definitely worth visiting to get the full Katy experience. read more

I regret ever entering this bar at all!!! my friends and i came in and had to wait over half an hour for service and we were told we would be served right there. and then to top if off after we were here FOR OVER THREE HOURS this guy came over with a completely bs and SEXIST rule where guys cant wear tank tops while there were over 4 women wearing tank tops. He told me that i have to leave for not wearing a shirt covering my sleeves. i have never been this disrespected and the unprofessionalism over this is astounding. AVOID THIS BAR AT ALL COSTS and there are so many better bars in the area. I will be getting in contact with my lawyers over this completely rude encounter. read more

Still love Einsteins. They allow smoking- so don't go here if you don't want to be around it. They have great bands, karaoke, good drinks, awesome bar food and arcade games. Awesome bar backs and super nice waitresses. They also have supplies in the bathrooms for the ladies and gents in case of emergency which is soooo wonderful. A++ read more

This bar had generally an older crowd. 30 to 40. Drinks were good, food was good, for barfood, and the band was awesome. I got there early on a Friday, then when 10 o'clock came around the place was packed. Still had good coverage with waitresses. I will definitely go back read more

Ok so Friday night turned out way better than it started. After about my third shot I decided I had enough guts to try out this nifty little machine that allows you to punch the $hiznit out of it then it tells you your score! I need one of these at home! Being the aggressive person that I am, I wasn't satisfied with my first score so went back and the nice gentlemen from the hills have eyes movie (LOL) allowed me to go again, and again....and again until my score was up there with theirs. That's right 687!!!!! The lovely waitress was also patient enough with Ashlee and I to decide which vodka press we would like most, and we changed our minds about 3 or 4 times. She was very patient. The smoking inside is the only reason I took off one star, I just wish everyone would go no smoking inside and have a patio outside for the smokers, I smelt like I rolled around in an ashtray when I got home. I did however love the DJ's choice of music, very 90's and a variety of Genre's. He didn't play the song we requested but atleast he let us think he was going to! I didn't try any of the food but it smelled good going by me. I will be returning soon to try and beat my last score. I've been doing push up's LOL! I was living in the Katy area for a few years. In all that time I had been to Einsteins once. Not a bad place, but definitely could find somewhere a little more entertaining to spend my time. That being said, I probably would have given it 2 stars until Saturday night. I went for a friends show and the door guy on a power trip would not let me in because my driver's license had expired last month. Really? The FAA will except my expired drivers license as long as it hasn't been a year, but your crappy bar on Mason won't? I am good friends with all the guys in the band, and they came over to tell him I was fine. I even offered to not drink, I just wanted to see the damn show! Nope he wasn't "loosing his job for anyone". He then proceeds to tell me "you should really get your license renewed" Uhmmmm really? That hadn't effing occurred to me. read more

We like this place. It's really big. A great place for happy hour with a group- A good place to hang out for awhile, without paying a ton of money for drinks. Bartenders were nice, service was fast. read more

The bar wasn't horribly bad, nice selection of beer. The waitress/bartender played favorites with all the single men (imagine that). There were all men there when I went, definitely a masculine bar. I don't like the smoky-ness of the bar...but i DO like the .35 cent wing night (MON I believe) and the fries are delicious crinkle cuts!!...and the beers (they have some nice ones on draft) are cold...went there with a gf...will be back....wait I just looked at their webpage...and their wing prices have gone UP to .60 cents per wing on mondays...that kinda sux...they have a good late running happy hr though. read more

Not a bad bar, but not the best experience either. Positives: really pretty tasty food, even if from a typically small bar selection. I wolfed down my chicken sandwich, and stole bites of my brother's burger while he was gone. They have pool and darts that aren't complete toys. Drinks are affordable, too! Negatives: the place is full of cigarette smoke, but that might not bother you. I guess that's just the nature of bars in Katy, but bars in Houston aren't far away either. My waitress also seemed annoyed by questions we asked, but she may have just been annoyed by the countless men hitting on her. Nice little bar in Katy with a great staff! They have events nightly such as trivia, karaoke as well as food specials like steak night. We went on Sunday which is free pool and $2 burgers. The burger was huge, juicy and much better than expected. The only negative is they do allow smoking and the smell inside does reflect that, but there weren't too many people smoking there on a Sunday afternoon. In all I'd definitely return for a burger, a steak or some trivia! read more

A typical sports bar with big TV's, fairly cheap drinks, lots of games. there are many tables with bar stools. It was about 1/4 of the way full late Sunday afternoon, and my non-smoking eyes were already running, so no air cleaners I suppose. I enjoy this place. They have Golden Tee, Silver Strike, pool tables and darts. They have good parties and most of the bar staff is friendly. The only thing that bothers me is when I go home, my clothes and hair reek of cigarettes since patrons are allowed to smoke inside. read more

This bar attracts all walks of life; from small business owners to young professionals to old gamblers. Trivia is a blast and they always have the games of the day on some tv. I used to go to this bar every time I was in the Katy area visiting family...not anymore. Went here the other night with my wife and a very close friend (with whom I'd been to this bar several times). First round went smoothly: we each got a pint of No Label (a local Katy brew). Second round came and my wife ordered a fat tire (she'd never had it before). She tastes it and it tasted kin of weird to her. My friend and I both take turns tasting it and we agree that it was way off. I've been drinking Fat Tire for about 10 years on tap and in bottles/cans. I know how it tastes. I went up to the bartender and told him it was off and that I wanted to change it for a Shiner Bock for her (figuring it'd be safer). He seemed to be a little put-off by this request but replaced the beer for me anyway. He didn't ask me exactly what was wrong, mind you, he just dumped it and then sniffed the empty pint glass (what?). At this point things were going smoothly. Since we'd entered the bar we'd been ignored by a waitress who much preferred hanging out barside than tending to customers. Soon another waitress came, introducing herself and being overall nice. We order round three with this girl. The drinks come out to us with little delay. I'd made the mistake of ordering a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, one of my favorite beers. We get our drinks and I take a sip of my pint. Awful. Something, once again, is fucked up. I don't know if it has to do with dirty taplines, an old keg or a combination of both, but it tasted way off. My wife, being nice, decided to take mine back to the bartender, since I took hers back earlier. I notice that she was taking a long time so I turned towards the bar to see that chimp of a bartender hassling my lady. I get to the bar to hear the barman saying to my wife that we (the customers) are completely wrong in feeling that their tap beer was less than good. That people had been drinking both of the beers we'd sent back all day long without complaining. Even our waitress chimed in to defend him. Long story short, the bartender declares, "I ain't servin' y'all shit no more." He changes out the pint, we finish our round, and we get the hell out of there. It's a damned shame. This was a place where I enjoyed getting a few decent beers on tap in a relaxed environment, but an ignorant staff really fucked things up. Imagine going to a restaurant, getting served a rotten steak, complaining about it and then getting yelled at by the staff for not shutting up and eating it with a smile on your face. I cannot honestly say I will ever be frequenting this place again. Myself and some friends chose to visit Einstein's as it USED to be an amazing place to visit. After paying a cover, we found out that they were not playing the UFC event (which we had been told by some friends that they usually did. We stayed through the night as we had already payed. The beer was okay, the smoke was overwhelming, and the band was decent. After last call, we went outside to be greeted by a brawl in which one man had been stabbed. If this lack of security and "safeness" is what is to be expected, do not count on me spending my money here again. Bar fights will happen. Attempted homicide? I'll pass. If "0" stars was an option, I would not have given it one at all. read more
