Baker St. Pub & Grill is a gem! I've been on a mission to find authentic British fish and chips in the area, and this place finally hit the spot. The fish and chips were fantastic--I'd definitely have them again--and I love that they provide malt vinegar so you can enjoy them the traditional way. This was a disappointing night to step out for dinner. I do enjoy coming here, but last night missed the mark. I had only eaten snacks earlier, so I was really looking forward to a good meal. Unfortunately, the "award-winning" cod wasn't winning any awards. The batter was so thick that when I opened it, the inside felt sponge-like, and the fish itself had no flavor beyond tasting like it came straight from the freezer. I also ordered a mocktail, and even that was underwhelming. Honestly, I would have been better off ordering a simple mineral water with lime. I spent over $21 on food and still tipped the waitress $5 because she was friendly and polite, even though I never received silverware. Don't get me wrong--the crowd is diverse, and the music is good, which is part of why I enjoy coming here. But I left still hungry, and as a full-blooded Texas woman, that just won't do. I ended up having to stop at a fast-food spot afterward just to eat. Disappointing experience, to say the least. read more

Baker St Pub was the perfect spot for our work holiday social, and honestly--it delivered from start to finish. We came in deep with a group of about 40, and the staff didn't flinch. Service was quick, friendly, and clearly well-coordinated--you could tell they had all hands on deck and knew exactly what they were doing. No chaos, no side-eye, just smooth execution. The appetizers were a hit across the board, and the drinks? Well-crafted and consistent (which matters when you're serving a crowd). I was in search of Good Old English Fish & Chips: Entered this quaint establishment for the very first time. Immediately greeted by the sound of a miniature sized dog in the arms of his owner at the bar. Not choosing to leave, was told to seat ourselves. Food: Very Mid. I ordered the Fish & Chips. Other members in our party ordered Wings and Fries. I had to find someone to bring missing fries after waiting for more than:15 minutes, which should have come with their meal. Chicken had the texture and appeal of gorilla ankles. The fish was not fresh. Gave overall straight from the freezer appearance. Finally when leaving, I had to finally flag the lady down at the bar to settle our check, because our server never returned. While there, I asked the male server for an Olive. He literally reached over for the shot glass and picked 2 olives up...WITH HIS BARE FINGERS!!!! Yep, it's a no for me. read more

Revisiting the relics of my late twenties and, boy, are my memories faulty. Baker St. was more reminiscent of stale European grime than the quaint pub I remember. Their beer offerings are limited and none of them are British, despite being named and themed after THE Baker St. of myth and legend. Legendary, it is not. Save your pennies. Fly to England. I had the Big English burger which is fine. The onions, however, are grilled...not caramelized as advertised. read more

My experience at Baker St. Pub & Grill was just okay, it wasn't the best but not the worst either. This is a good spot to grab SOME drinks and be on your way. I wouldn't say this is the best hang out spot since I didn't find the vibes to be all there. They do have a front patio if you want to sit outside. There's a happy hour drink menu which is at a reasonable price. My 5 friends and I decided to come here to have a couple of drinks before heading to constellation field for a baseball game. I went ahead and ordered something simple that you can't mess up, which is 2 shots of Jack Daniel's. Then for my meal I got the Bacon Cheddar burger and I added caramelized onions & for my side I chose the onion rings (extra 1.49). The burger was underwhelming in taste & considering I asked for medium rare, it came out well done and the patty was dry & flavorless. It says on their menu that they hand make their patties but to be honest it just tasted like frozen from the bag. Even with the caramelized onions on top of the burger the meat was still dry. The only nice thing that I can say is that the bun was toasted nicely with butter & the bacon was good. The portion of my onion rings was small & it came out close to cold. The batter was crispy but unfortunately it was greasy. I also got to try my friend chicken tender and it was a different take on how we usually make them, it was made with like a fish and chips batter which I find a bit odd but this is an English Pub so I guess it's understandable. Our server Ben was attentive and laid back but he forgot to bring out my sauces, however he fixed the issue ASAP. Overall it was alright, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back but with a group of friends, yes. It's your typical bar food but below par quality food. read more

The Butcher and the Candle Stick Maker are just two of the regulars here, and it shouldn't be confused with that good old watering hole in Southern California (Bakersfield Pub). This is a nice busy English pub right in the middle of the mall. I wish the food was a bit more true to English standards and recipes because it is pretty Americanized, but you come here for the alcohol and the drinking, and if that's the case then you probably won't be too disappointed. read more

Came at least twice a week Decided against my better judgement to give them one last try and again. Not only was I charged FULL PRICE for something that I ordered from the lunch menu BUT BOTH TIMES I WAS CHARGED EXTRA FOR CHICKEN ON A SALAD THAT HAS CHICKEN ALREADY ON IT!!!! The first time it happened the kitchen was slow, I was on my lunch and I didnt have time to argue with the waitress but pointed out the salad comes with chicken and I just paid it and left. The waitress today wanted to argue and I didn't feel the need so I asked her politely to go get a menu. Instead she kept yelling at me that she needed to charge me for the "protein". The other ladies at the table with me kept telling her they read it on the menu as well. Instead of getting a menu she just stood there yelling it does not come with chicken so I finally yelled at her real loud to go get a menu. She brings the menu and I show her the word CHICKEN and she continued to argue that it did not have chicken!!! Obviously she can't read and she again yelled it don't come with chicken and asked me with attitude if I wanted her manager. He comes over and I tell him I ordered the chopped Cobb and asked for the chicken to be fried. That's it!!!! He understand and took the chicken off. Always on time and try their best to get drinks in appropriate time even when busy. Really recommend going and trying the food before kitchen closes! I'm giving 2/5 stars because the waitress and girl she was training were nice. Otherwise this was probably the worst food I've had at a restaurant in many years. To start I ordered the Dogfishhead on tap and something was horribly off with it - foul tasting and bitter. The food was even worse. We came Wed for the 1/2 off burger special. I ordered the Wagyu burger. The bun fell apart in about 10 seconds (not fresh), and the burger itself was totally unremarkable and flavorless. I ordered the onion rings and can't believe I managed to eat two. When the waitress asked what was wrong I held up a ring and the undercooked breading just fell off and were light yellow in color. I've never seen anyone mess up onion rings before. The bar itself looked nice and was busy but really would stay far away from this place. It was below mediocre quality food and was just thankful I didn't get sick later that night. read more

I have been to several of the Baker St. Pub & Grill's around town over the years. This location is situated at the Sugar Land Town Square and I've been twice. My most recent visit was on a weekday after having dinner at State Fare. The Sugar Land Town Square has always been a hit in my book as it's a great spot to grab dinner, walk around, and have some drinks. Baker St. has your typical pub look and feel. You order at the bar located in the middle of the establishment or there is waiter service too. We played pool most of the night and interacted with some of the regulars. Fun group! It also happened to be karaoke night and I must say almost everyone who performed was talented. No cringeworthy yet entertaining serenades on this evening. If you're looking for a casual spot and some bar games, Baker St. is always a hit. Service was a little slow at times but that's really my only complaint. read more
