In looking for some movers to move from San Antonio to Austin, Texas, I called Einstein moving company and received a quote. I decided to go ahead and book them. I wanna say this is the first time I've ever used this company. The moving people were very prompt in arriving on time and came in and looked over all the items that needed to be packed and got a right to work. They had the truck full and on their way to Austin. They even made sure to pad the doors when moving. They arrived in Austin way under the time expected and once here they got right to work and unloaded. They had to come up three flights of stairs and never complained. They were very professional, very humble and hard-working. Einstein was our 1st choice in moving our goods from a local storage facility to our home after looking at their competition here in San Antonio, TX. You pay for what you get and when you spend your hard earned dollars on a moving company you want your worldly possessions treated with tender loving care. They did just that. Let's just say this, they are EASY to do business with. from the first call, to the final follow up they were on top of their game. They even stepped up to fix a minor fender bender of mine when their own vehicle insurance company couldn't even practice good customer service! Wow! Go ahead and make the call to Einstein Moving. They made sure to email and call me days before my move to double check they had all of the correct information and was very accommodating with some minor changes I had to make. They are also reasonably priced compared to other companies that were quoting me up to $500 more for the same services. We could not be more thrilled with the experience we had with this company. Cory and Zach were absolute professionals. They were pleasant to work with, got the job done on time and on budget. Einstein - Moving Trucks are big! - Movers Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

Two stars, one for their initial customer service and one for how well they protected my furniture. I contacted Einstein through Yelp to get an estimate for a move from Balcones Heights to the Schertz area, because it is outside of their free service area they charged a $55 travel charge. The main reason for the low review is that the movers they sent me worked extremely slow. I was quoted at 4.5 hours to move a one bedroom apartment which I thought was pretty long for a small apartment. The movers were overall very slow and seemed to be taking their time to do everything. In order to avoid a higher bill I was also helping by taking most of the boxes downstairs to my vehicle so all they really needed to move were my sofa, armchair, entertainment center, two nightstands, kitchen table, bed, dresser, and washer/dryer. They took about two hours moving those items from my apartment down to their truck. We also have an elevator so its not like they were struggling down the stairs.  After they left my apartment, I left about 15 minutes after they did, they were supposed to drive straight to my new home, but when I arrived there they were nowhere to be found. I started unloading my boxes from my car and my brother's truck because I figured maybe they had hit traffic or driven very slow because of the size of the truck. After over 15 minutes of them not showing up I called Einstein but there was no answer. I then called the number that the movers had called me from when they arrived and the man told me, "Oh, we stopped at HEB for some food. Didn't we tell you?" I understand that people need to eat but I don't really think a lunch break is warranted on such a short job when they could have easily picked up food before starting. After they finally arrived I instructed them to just drop everything off in the living room because I didn't want to deal with their slowness anymore. This time around they were actually moving rapidly and even jogging on/off the truck. I'm not sure if its because I was there with them now  versus going up and down with my boxes or what, but this is what I was expecting from the beginning. Some actual hustle. Especially if I'm being charged $120/hr. We were able to get the entire truck unloaded in probably just over half an hour and that includes setting up the washer/dryer. My brother and I were again helping to unload everything from the truck. One of the movers tried to slow things down again by slowly unwrapping my furniture but I asked my brother to do that instead so that the movers could do what they were actually supposed to be doing.  Overall, I probably wouldn't use them again because the movers seemed very intent on trying to drag the clock out as long as they could and didn't care about providing quick service. The final hour total came out to 3.25, which was definitely milked by the movers and in looking at the bill they emailed me I'm pretty sure they billed me for part of their lunch break because it only shows an 18 minute break when they left about 15 minutes before me and showed up almost half an hour after me. On top of that, they charged me for the driving time, which if they're going to charge $55 as a travel charge they should not be double billing me for the drive time. read more

Adam, Ryan, John, and Mike Ivory did a great job packing my entire house and moving my loads and loads of stuff in this brutal TX heat! They had to go up and down 3 flights of stairs, in this heat and all were amazingly courteous, kind, and very careful. Not to mention they had drive up to far the North Austin area to end location. They have a VERY difficult job and their thoroughness and great attitudes in this heat are tremendously appreciated!! I couldn't be more pleased with Einstein. We had a difficult move and our movers, Andrew and Trey, did an outstanding job. We had a LOT of heavy furniture that needed to come down a tricky flight of stairs but they handled it like true professionals. They were efficient and friendly. I was so pleased with their work. We did have a a casualty; the back part of our dresser was damaged, due to the tricky staircase. The guys were very apologetic and handled the claim with such grace. Their manager, Brian, came out personally and replaced the plywood backing. He was a super nice guy and did a great job. I would recommend Einstein to EVERYONE! Moving is a pain, but Einstein Moving made it so much better. We moved Mom from San Antonio to Austin yesterday. From the beginning she said her experience with Einstein getting a quote was the most professional of all of the other movers she contacted and the best value. Then moving day went so smoothly with Ryan West and Jeremy. Those guys were great! They were fast, friendly and very careful with all of Mom's treasured heirlooms. They successfully got a loved but LARGE couch out a tight entry turn by removing the front door, the closet doors, the glass from a light fixture and the feet of the couch! This is my first time writing a negative review on a company. I hired Einstein Movers because I had seen they had extremely positive reviews. I hired them to completely move my belongings from one house to another. They took about 6hours to move most of my belongings before they informed me their truck was full. They offered another date and time to complete my move, but I was obligated by contract to move out by the next day. I did not complain and hired another company to finish the job since Einstein wouldn't be able to. It took almost 10hours, Einstein hadn't even finished the job. I had to go back to my previous house to walk through, and they called me to pay on the phone for their moving services at that moment. I didn't want to, but I did since I was so tired, and I didn't want to hold them up. They must be tired too. However, I shouldn't have to pay over the phone. I should've double checked everything before they left. During the process of Einstein moving my belongings on their truck, my office chair was damaged. The retail price for this specific office chair (Herman Miller Aeron) is approximately $1200. Using the mover's insurance I paid for, I was under the impression the company would replace/reimburse the funds for the chair since it's value is below the $2,000 limit. They stated since it is considered "particle board furniture" they could only reimburse me $257 to replace the broken parts of the chair. I don't see the point in paying for mover's insurance if my previously perfect office chair damaged during the move won't even be covered by 50%. They only offered to cover 60 cents/pound which is ridiculous. They had taken meticulous notes of any existing damage my belongings had, but when they damaged my office chair, they offered reimbursement that is less than half of what it costs. This office chair is incredibly important because I work from home. Their excellent reviews had me believing I would receive quality service, however, I received the opposite. A 10- hour job has left me spending more money than necessary, and with an ergonomically correct office chair that is now broken that will be expensive to replace/repair. read more

Gabriel was available throughout the process. Jose, Christian and MIT 1 were the three employees assigned the move. I researched moving firms exhaustively before choosing Einstein. There were less expensive options but about 99.9999 of the reviews and customer comments I viewed were overwhelmingly positive. As I am retired, disabled, on a fixed income and in a wheelchair---dependability and competence were of the utmost importance to me--not just the moving of physical items--but the care taken with the items and the respect and treatment of both the residence leaving and the new apartment--also directing boxes to where I would be able to access needed items and rooms--and placement of furniture--so as to not create more work. Honestly--this move was a horror for any moving company--I had no remote idea of how many items I had accumulated over the years--and I did have some friends helping pack--but I laughed (yes!!) when the ladies all suggested more boxes. These young men were absolutely the most professional, competent, cordial and absolutely decent young people that you could hope to have moving you. If I were the owner of any type of business--I would hire them tomorrow. From a complex with a unit on the 3rd floor to the opposite side of town to another unit on the 3rd floor (both at the polar ends of the corridors, of course); and ending up helping to pack. With a heavy heart, I must report a less than satisfactory interaction the second go round. What took 2.5 hours the first round took 9 hours the second round. No new furniture/boxes were added to my inventory between both service requests. I expected an increase for moving from a one-story house to a townhouse, but 6.5 hours seems excessive. Each move was relatively the same distance. The cause for concern were the following: 1. The mover insisted on taking items upstairs himself after my 14 year old offered he hand off lighter items. News flash! My 14 year old's labor is free whereas the mover's time wasn't. 2. My fridge undertook a beating trying to get it into the apartment. The movers established that the removal of the handles were necessary to fit the fridge into the entry way of the kitchen. After all that effort (and costly time), it was clear that the fridge was too wide to fit in the area next to the cabinets. He had left the fridge blocking access to the dishwasher and a cabinet - which was completely irrational in my opinion. He had not even alerted me of the situation when it occurred. I had to stop the mover about 3/4 of the way done putting the handles back on the fridge. Per my instruction, he removed the handles again, and placed the fridge in the dining room. A little common sense would have gone a long way in this situation. Here is where I question where the line of responsibility lies. As professional movers, I had assumed that either the mover A) had an eye for space - a Tetris mastermind or B) was equipped with a tape measure for those lacking talent A. To a degree, I should have measured the space myself, but I had not realized that my expectations for a professional moving organization were too high. Silly female, me. As you can imagine, the moving expense this time around was exorbitantly higher than the first and my $1800 fridge lost some of its aesthetic appeal. Given my extreme satisfaction with my first interaction, I will be calling Einstein Movers for my third move. I will insist on being assigned different representatives, pre-measure all spaces myself, and be assertive in all my instructions. I have high hopes that I'll be better taken care of next time. read more

Wonderful experience with this company! I used Einstein's moving services about 5 months ago when moving from a one bedroom apartment to our house. Everything is covered in their hourly rate: the movers, the truck, the moving supplies, insurance, etc. The company was in constant contact leading up to the move. And the day of, the movers were actually early! I had two young men helping me with my move. They were both incredibly polite and friendly. I tried to have everything boxed up and ready before they arrived, but still needed some help with my large TV and rug. They were more than happy to assist. They were careful to wrap everything but still moved quickly, and never sat down for a break. Did I mention this was in the middle of July? You would think they didn't even notice the heat outside with how hard they were working. I provided an HEB cooler bag with cold bottles of water and Powerade. They tried to say no at first, but I insisted. I suggest you do the same, when you see how hard they are working they definitely need it to stay cool and hydrated! Unfortunately I underestimated the amount of junk I had in my storage units. After packing up the apartment we looked at the units and decided to not do it all in one day. The choice was mine to not waste time trying to squeeze everything into the truck. The company was very prompt in returning my calls and helped me get a second set of movers to help with the storage units later that month. They even worked with my busy schedule and budget (considering I wasn't originally planning to pay for two days of movers). Since moving to San Antonio in 2008 I've used four different moving companies. In every move we either had lost items, stolen items or damaged items. Two times they told us everything would fit in the truck and inevitably it wouldn't causing delays while they found more manpower and another truck. This time, zero issues; no damage, no loss and the movers were on time and courteous and did the job as quickly as can be expected. It took a little longer than the estimate but they told me that that was probably going to be the case halfway through. Anyway telling them how much stuff you have and accurately predicting that portion of it is not their responsibility. It was mine and I guess I underestimated. They certainly weren't loafing. I will most likely be moving again in about a year and a half and without a doubt will be utilizing Einstein Moving Company. read more
