We rented fat tire bikes this past weekend. My partner is an experienced rider and had rented there before. We had trouble with gear shifting on one of the bikes, so it made our 10 mile ride harder and less pleasant than it should have been. When I took the bike back to the store to let them know, I had turned the wheel and the owner said we caused the problem. I explained we did not turn it before the ride. If you notice, any negative review made, there is an excuse or "explanation" by company. read more

Was in town over the December holidays with seven friends and wanted to rent eight fat tire bikes for a fun ride. I called a few places and no one had enough bikes on short notice. But, Einstein had six...and offered to rent out two of their demo bikes for the day! Awesome!!! We ended up getting 21" of snow that day and couldn't use the bikes how we originally wanted. But, we still had fun. My only issue with Einstein is with their location and lack of delivery/pick up. Some shops with deliver the bikes to you or be located in an area that is more conducive to hitting some of the trails. Again, not a huge deal as we ended up renting a u-haul to haul the bikes around, but still kind of a pain. I'll say that the guys in the shop were great. Super chill. read more

Heard many good comments about this shop...my experience was dismal. It focused on ordering replacement parts for my road bike. "Yes, we can do that. Can you make a deposit so I can create a work order?", was the shop clerks response to my request. I paid the full amount for the parts I wanted. "We'll order them Monday and call you when they come in." 3 weeks later no call. Went to the shop and inquired. The clerk who took my order was evasive to my inquiry. I pressed the question, "when was the order placed?" More evasive..."uh, the guy who was suppose to do that is not here...he'll be back later, I can check with him and give you a call...". Really? If the parts were ordered wouldn't that be in your work order record? The clerk, nice guy as he is, finally admitted no parts ordered..."I guess we dropped the ball". I'll say. I asked for my money back. So the rest of the story is I have made purchases from this store...including two bike repairs. So no stranger to them. So here was an opportunity for the store to make it right....they have my name and phone number. If this were my shop and I dropped the ball on a customer I'd be on the phone to the customer asking how we could make it right...my apology...we'll get the parts if you still want them. Nope. Crickets from Einstein. So smart name. Dumb employees. 10.1.17 Received note from owner apologizing. Offered me $20 discount on my next order. That was nice. However, owner missed the point. What I am looking for is trustworthy service. Not 20 bucks. Owner did not offer following through on the special order and making it right. Fail. read more

Awesome bike shop! I had rode my bike to the coffee shop next door and just stopped in to Einstein to maybe look at some new seats. They gave me excellent recommendations and even put the different seats on my bike for me to test in the parking lot. While I was there, I wanted to see if my handlebars could be raised but they were already to the max, so a quick look in the back for a new part and they installed a new handlebar adjuster on my bike! Price for my seat was actually the same as Amazon but it ended up being a waaaay better deal since they installed everything for me! Can't wait to ride my bike again! read more

I bought one of their sweet limited edition kits and got some beta on local gravel grinding. I don't want to take anything away from TC's other great bike shops, but I think I've found my place. read more

Our family was vacationing in TC. We visited Ec for rentals and found they had a great selection including a bike cart (Burley), tag alongs, kids bikes, and tandems. Our 5 year old loved the tag along as she felt like she was biking as well, but she wouldn't have made it the whole way on her own. The guys here were very friendly and accommodating. read more

Awesome place- with awesome guys working there. We called in the morning and a super nice guy Cody answered the phone and talked for a while about the different bikes they sell. They rent and sell bikes and equipment with lots of options. We decided to go and have a look and the owner Jason helped me pick out an amazing mountain bike and really went thru the effort to fit me with the right seat and gear- really paying attention to detail. My husband had an older bike another guy helped with- checked it all over and took care of the chain for him. You can tell everyone has fun working there and the people who come in are return customers who they know. Highly recommend! read more

They have a large inventory of bikes and accessories from the high end full carbon road racing bikes to your trusty town cruiser. This place is incredible. I was vacationing and needed new speedplay cleats. Not only did they sell me a pair but they were kind enough to fit them for me for free even though I hadn't bought the bike or the pedals from them. Bikes have the capacity to be awesome vehicles of fun and adventure or an annoying reminder that you are not as smart or athletic as you think you are. Thanks to Einstein Cycles, I think I'll be able to avoid the latter category entirely! We're vacationing in TC and ate a delicious breakfast at the Breakaway cafe next door. We've thought about getting bikes for the last couple years but spouse and self are rather older (mid to late 50's), rather doughy folk who aren't looking to set speed or distance records. We went into EC to get info, we got a TON of info. We also got fantastic customer service and great deals on two bikes for cruising around our hometown in SW Michigan. Hadn't planned to buy but we were clearly in the right place to get what we needed. Their selection covers a wide range of abilities and needs but always with quality options. I don't imagine any bike they sell would be considered anything less than an intelligent choice. Staff answered every question and there was no attitude except one of genuine concern. So, now we have just the excuse we need to come back to TC every year! Annual bike tune-ups. read more
