Steve at City Bike Shop went so far out of his way to assure that my bike buying experience was the best that I don't have room here to mention it all. The success of my family's Iceman weekend rested squarely in Steve's hands and he delivered (literally) on all counts. He even went as far as letting me borrow his personal Thule rack because I had an old one that shouldn't be used for a carbon frame. They mapped out several spots for us to stop at, and worked with us to figure out exactly when and where they could deliver our prepared lunch. You don't have to book the wineries - they do it for you and give you a schedule. The guy that got brought in from a different shop for the job didn't do hardly anything, and marked the job as completed then split. And the work that was done was completely shoddy. However, the regular crew offered me a discount and free upgraded tune up to make up for it. The guys took turns really going above and beyond to make things right and are very trustworthy. The employees at the Garfield location have always done the best work and offered friendly service. Highly recommended!

The Leelanau Trail was inches away from the shop which was incredibly convenient. The trail is a delightful mix of shade and sun, and very well maintained. The bike was in good shape and pretty fun to ride. My only complaints are the weight of the bike and no easily accessible water bottle holder. The heft of the bike made taking off a little bit of a challenge. So when trying to cross one of the many roads that bisect the trail it was a little stressful trying to get myself moving quickly. The bike did have a large saddle bag that held my water bottle and could have held a book, bathing suit, lunch, etc if I had been riding to the Suttons Bay beach (which is what I'll do next time!).
