Brick did a lot of work to get my really nice Trek riding really nice again. I want to commend the shop's technical department for its outstanding fault-analysis and recommendations. Wasn't "cheap" however, it was all necessary to return my Trek to "silent running". Now, my bike's a delight to ride..... Brick's shop is very competent and professional. They're my go to. read more

Terrible customer service. Some customers need help in person for questions before fully booking online. Waited at the rental booth rang bell few times, nobody even acknowledged or asked me to wait if they were busy, few staffs saw me too. Maybe came at wrong time, I really liked their options but will not bothering to coming again. read more

Terrible experience, after spending hundreds of dollars on bike rentals and clothes, on of our kids was using the horn just purchased and the store employee asks us to take the kid outside, very rude, would not recommend ever going here again. read more

As you would expect, Traverse City is really a great town for renting good outdoor gear. We picked up some cross-country skis for the whole family to rent for a week from Brick Wheels and they were great -- efficient, helpful, and friendly in getting us all sized up and kitted out; good advice about where to try to find some decent skiing given the weather; and (in so far as I can judge) the skis all seem to be good quality too. If only they rented kayaks too! read more

Wonderful help and support. Will be back! Great selection. We rented e-bikes and had a great experience.

I wanted to rent a quality gravel bike for roaming around farm roads and the shores of Lake Michigan. Joe did a fantastic job of fitting me for a bike and throwing a pair of more versatile tires on a top shelf Trek Domane. I had a wonderful time with the bike for more than a week. Joe really pays attention to the details of bike fitting and this made a big difference in my experience. read more

Joe was such a sweetheart! We were visiting and he helped us so much and gave us recommendations. He even let us take our bikes back in the store after hours bc he was still there, and it would've been v annoying to come back the next day. very good prices and everybody was very helpful, joe we love you, ur trip was very impressive for 36 days. -VA read more

Flight cancellations disrupted our travel to Traverse City and our biking plans. Joe was great and arranged for us to be able to pick up our rental bike after hours. His flexibility and can-do attitude saved the day! Great bike and all the necessary accessories. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you! read more

What a great experience! They have great routes to choose from! Our rental went smoothly and we had an adventure! the staff was very friendly and we will be back! read more

As I planned to visit TC, I knew I would rent a bike for a day, but from where? I flew United Airlines, and on the cover of their Hemisphere magazine was Three Days in Traverse City. The Hemisphere article mentioned Brick Wheels. I made an online reservation the night before my rental. When I arrived at 10 am, the bikes were ready to ride. They close at 6 pm, and I wasn't sure how long I'd be out, so they gave me a combination lock to lock the bikes up in front of the shop if I returned after 6. Friendly, great service and they are located next to the TART trail. Thank you Brick Wheels read more

Big shout out to Travis. Thanks for making my biking experience enjoyable. Thanks for picking out the perfect bike for me! Highly suggest working with Travis! read more

Excellent lace from which to rent e-bikes. Very knowledgeable staff. Took time to explain bike operation, proper sizing, helmet adjustment, , locks and area trails. High quality, clean, well-maintained Cannondale e-bikes. Rates ($50.00 for 4 hrs.) include helmets, locks, and small carrying bag. Next to TART trail.would highly recommend. read more

I decided to treat myself to an e-bike. I tried a few bike shops before going to Brick Wheels. They were, hands down, the most knowledgeable, friendliest and most helpful of any of the shops I visited. They also had the best inventory. Their follow-up service was exemplary as well. read more

Fabulous service today at Brick Wheels from Ayden! We promised our daughter and son in law new bikes as their wedding present. That was in 2020. Today was the day to make that promise come true. From the moment we entered, Ayden was friendly, helpful, and funny. He gave great recommendations to these new adult bike riders. He answered all their questions. He helped us pick out not only the bikes but all the accessories. Did I mention he was personable and funny? Thanks you to Ayden and Brick Wheels!!!! read more

E-bike rental was easy with high quality bikes and customer service. Highly recommend.

They knew by one look what was wrong with my bike. Got it fixed and running the best it has ever been. Super helpful and knowledgeable about the work they did. Friendly service. read more

Bought two bikes 4 months ago, wanted to upgrade one and NO was their answer. Bad business practices, will buy all future bikes on Amazon.

My friends and I were visiting Traverse City with our dogs and rented hybrid bikes and a dog trailer from Brick Wheels. Joe was super helpful making sure that the dog trailer reservation went through (they only have one to rent) and we had a great time on our ride. Brick Wheels also has a fun Google map that you can save or download of bike path routes with breweries and ice cream shops, as well as the standard TART map. read more

I was under the impression that Brick Wheels was going to be another friendly face on my cross-country bicycle tour. I lost a part to my frame pump and had asked them to get the part (I was very specific which one) and gave them my phone number in case there was a problem. Even though it was a Sunday they said no problem. I called the day I was going to roll through Traverse City(3 days later) and talked to several employees before learning that they "couldn't order it". At which point they offered me a new pump. this is clearly just another case of upselling or maybe just laziness because I then called Topeak and they said that they could send me the part I needed, for free. Bad karma. read more

There needs to be a 'love' button for this bike shop! 'Like' is too mild a term for the best shop (debatable) in a 50 mile radius. The owner and staff truly live and breath bicycles of all kind without being snooty or disparaging about it. What ever you need, or think you do; they have it here or can get it for you. It is the only place Team SPIF shops at in TC. read more

The Brick team is awesome. Super knowledgeable and passionate staff. The guys in service take good care of me and my bike, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Brick Wheels - Bike post winterizing: clean, lube, studded tires, new fenders. - Bikes Near Me - Traverse City, Michigan

Brick Wheel was more than helpful for our maintenance asks and looked to have an expansive inventory. Ethan in the maintenance shop went above.and beyond. Our 70s era cross country ski binding snapped and no one else in town was able to fix, assumed it was a lost cause and no riding for the week. Ethan stepped right up and identified a similar bracket. Thanks Ethan and Brick Wheel! read more

Chris did an awesome job helping us out. He put a rear rack on the Canondale Mtn e- bike with a nice fork suspension. Gave us a charger too for charging up the Bosch engine while we took it out for a week. I almost never had to take it out of the lowest setting Eco mode. The bike rode really great on the rail trails and all over Mackinac Island including the horse trails/gravel mud trails. One suggestion please, make sure you get detailed instructions on how to change the rear tire if you get a flat including making sure you can loosen the bolt with your crank tool. Also take a good pump along. Enjoy! I would definitely com back here again. read more

We were on our honeymoon when my bike seat came off in my hand. We limped the bike down the street to Brick Wheels & were greeted by Chip, who was kind enough to help us out with aligning and tightening it down. All free of charge. He helped us find a patch kit we were looking for - explained the pros & cons & wasn't pushy. He explained the e-bike rental process as well. As we left, another employee offered to air up my husband's tires. 10/10 would recommend! Very knowledgeable, kind, & pleasant place. read more

From a touring perspective, these guys are solid. They had a lot of things a bagger might need including patch kits, racks, panniers, pumps and more. Shop employee Dave and I struck up a conversation about touring, my bike and his dream bike. The other staff were both friendly and helpful. The shop caters to many crowds, including racers, commuters, mountain bikers, cruisers and baggers. Prices are reasonable and won't break the bank. I even saw some long boards and stand up paddle boards which always make a wistful windsurfer happy. I will say that I didn't use the shop services, so I can't speak for the shop or rentals at all. Be careful when ordering a bike from this place. Test rode two models to see what the right fit was for me. After an employee searched inventory they determined they didn't have one in stock, so I ordered on. I was shown a certain model with color scheme and approved to purchase. One week later after contacting Brick Wheels, they said they couldn't find my bike and would call me back. A couple days later, they finally found it, I traveled down to pickup and was presented with a different bike than what I ordered. Going on a week now trying to get someone from the store to return my phone calls and emails and they won't call back to address the situation. Go elsewhere, save yourself the headache. read more

First visit. Called to check on part availability. Keith said yes, come on in. Arrived a few minutes after closing, but Ethan let me in. Part was perfect fit. Everyone there was extremely friendly and courteous. I would HIGHLY recommend visiting for any bike enthusiast. Cheers! read more

I stopped in needing a very simple adjustment to my brakes, something I could not do myself. They got me in and out in minutes, brakes perfectly set, and charged me nothing. This shop is a class act! read more

We rented two electric bikes for our ride on Mission Bay Peninsula. (THANK GOODNESS for e-bikes on those hills!) From the first phone call, we received excellent customer service! Chris was really patient with us as we asked questions and when our ride took longer than expected, he helped us arrange a morning pick up of our bikes from our hotel the next day. Our rental price included helmets and also bike locks, which made it very convenient for stopping off at restaurants and wineries during our day trip! I would highly recommend exploring OMP this way and renting through Brick! read more

My dad has about 50 things he needed changed on his bike. They were able to do it very quickly with a text update when it was ready. He is very pleased with their work. My sister and I rented two Townie bikes for the day (you get a full 24 hours) and loved it. Highly recommend Brick Wheels for both maintenance and rental. read more

While on vacation with family, we set out to rent bikes to ride the TART trail in Traverse. Brick was great! They are knowledgeable, friendly, and very reasonably priced. They provided us with properly fitted helmets, locks and flat pack, for my road bike renters. I recommend that if you are just a casual rider, rent the cruiser. It was comfortable (big cushy seat), rode well, and only $20 for half a day! As for the road bikes, they have a pretty upscale selection. My brother-in-law's rental, was a $2400 cycle! That is some rental! And as for location, it is right at the trail. Maps are available, along with local advice on what to do and where to go. read more

We rented some bikes from here. The customer service was personable, quick, and polite. Tried McLain a year ago (disinterested and slow service) and we will now go across the lot to Brick Wheels! Seemed like there were "regulars" in there as first names were being tossed around. That was cool! read more

Great bike shop! Visiting the area and had someone hit one of our bikes bending the tire and rim. Took it in, fixed in 30 minutes on a busy Saturday, and were very nice people to work with. I'm sure the locals would agree! Thanks for getting us back on the road! read more

The Best Bike rentals in town. As TREK Elite dealer they have a new fleet of really nice road and mountain bikes. They have many sizes and the bikes are tuned by the service department before renting them so they are ready to roll. In addition to the premuium offerrings they have many cruser and hybrid bikes to rent and are located right next to the TART trail so you can ride right from the store. read more

Had my fat tire out on single track and broke the chain. While pushing my bike out I came upon two mountain bikers , one of which ( wish I could remember their names) worked at Brick wheels . The guys stopped their ride and did an emergency fix so I could ride out . Thanks for saving me the long walk guys I owe you one. After getting out I called Brick Wheels on a Sunday and was able to get new chain and install that day . Thank Again. read more

When visiting a new town, the first thing I try to do is expierence it through the eyes of a local commuter and there's no better way than to rent a bike and cruise around town. I had a couple of options to choose from when picking a bike rental shop and honestly the thing that made it a no brainer for me in choosing Brick Wheels was how nice the people on the phone were to me. I had called a couple of other places in town and after being placed on hold too long I was relieved to finally have someone be so nice and courteous to me. I think the associate was either Betsy or Betty so forgive the memory lapse. I was able to walk from my hotel to the establishment and I gotta say that walk was great! Like walking through a modern day Pleasant Town! When I got to the store I was impressed at how fancy it was. All of their equipment is well taken care of and they have sweet bikes to choose from! I had forgotten my water bottle at the hotel and the owner gave me a free one. It's the little things that make a difference and I was really happy that they cared about the little things just as much as I did. Highly recommend this place as your one stop shop. Next time I visit, I'm renting a kayak and a paddle board! Love this place! read more

We rented a two person bike for my husband and son, and a trailer behind my bike to tow our one year old daughter. We so enjoyed our trip down the bike paths. It was a beautiful way to see the city. This is probably the best all-around bike shop I've ever been in. I have been a bike racer, and now a commuter, and this bike shop caters to all those needs. The service people are friendly, helpful, and courteous. And their prices are not outrageous. Every time I go into the shop I really enjoy it, great people working there make a big difference. read more
