This is a convenient place to stop and enjoy a hearty breakfast, it's one of the largest Einstein Bros locations I've been to. I really liked how roomy it was and seeing lot of families enjoy time with one another. I went in for a to-go order and because I went on a weekday morning, there was a bit of a line. I asked them for more for my friend and I and the girl working behind the counter with dark brown hair, glasses, and foundation way too dark for her gave me the dirtiest look and attitude. I agree with all things said by the reviewer from 10/11/16. The only reason this place gets the business is that it's in a great location and the only bagel place in W. Springfield. My husband was a regular and besides taking our kids there on the weekends, he would get his coffee there on his way to work on the weekdays. We've been going for years despite the long waits, wrong orders and just overall, bad service. The last time we went as a family, I just had enough. We waited for 45 minutes in a not-so-busy environment and they had no updates or comments or even comp drinks for a relatively easy order in that time span. No apologies from the manager either and my husband and I said, "no more" and haven't been in since. I can't see any reason why they can't immensely improve their performance and bring in even more business and make their customers happy. It's just totally ridiculous and a disgrace. What a shame that you cannot get a decent bagel or breakfast sandwich in Springfield/Burke. Einstein Bros. do not sell bagels. They sell round bread that arrives frozen and is steamed up in the store. And they'll even top it with a microwaved, pre-cooked egg for you! Aside from the terrible food, this store is also really dirty. Trash left on tables. Used napkins on the floor. I even saw dried ketchup crusted to the window. Met a friend here for breakfast this morning. Tried the new bagel thin with light cream cheese. Bagel was so-so (not the fault of this restaurant). Stopped quickly to pick up an easy order and One of the three employees was very rude to every customer she came in contact with. It appeared she was very confused on the ordering sequence and would quickly get flustered when people Wouldn't respond to her calling out their name. I had asked for cream cheese on the side and she argued with me initially before realizing that she had failed to place it in the bag for the to go order. By far THE worst Einstein Bagels I've ever been to. Two stars because the bagels are fine otherwise it would be a 1 star. The customer service is awful and every time I've gone in, the bagel selection is low to none. This is at 11 am. And it's the simple bagels like chocolate chip. Well, I have been going with my girlfriend here for the past few months because we both like bagels, and the bagels are reasonably priced. Today, when we went to get bagels, we payed with a ten dollar bill. The cashier took the ten dollar bill, took out 4 dollars and the rest of the change, and the receipt. He then put the four dollars back on the drawer and gave me the change (coins) and the receipt. When told that he hadn't given us the rest of our change, he started yelling at my girlfriend and I. Instead of fighting, we decided to eat our bagels and leave. I have never been treated this way in any establishment before. I love Einstein's and my go to location is the one in Falls Church but it was later towards the day and they had already run out of most of there (Falls Church) bagels. I called this location to make sure they had it and the gentleman was extremely helpful. I placed an order for a dozen and a half bagels on the phone he did say it would be about an hour. We arrive to the location and all the employees were rude (especially the Hispanic woman, I believe she was a manager) and inattentive besides the gentleman that helped us previously on the phone. The baker definitely rushed on our bagels (we waited for Asiago and everything bagels) which did not have a lot of their distinct topping as they usually would have if made correctly. We arrived home and noticed they missed 3 of my bagels. I called and a young lady answered with a snobby attitude. I already waited 30 minutes for my bagels; what would make me want to come back to a place that had all the extra time and still was able to get my order incorrect? I'm extremely disappointed in my experience. This place needs some re-evaluation. Also, the Hispanic woman accused us of trying to steal cream cheese that we had already purchased but have not yet grabbed until our bagels were done. read more

Service is PAINFULLY slow and they NEVER get my order right. I literally DREAD certain employees taking my order because I KNOW FOR A FACT that they'll mess it up. One plain bagel toasted twice with butter and one plain bagel toasted once with extra cream cheese. My dad has to constantly get up and go back to get his bagel toasted dark. My most recent experience was one of the worst. MULTIPLE guests were upset or had to leave due to the crazy long wait on maybe 5 orders. The manager (some new guy with glasses) rang my food incorrectly, didn't say anything, then demanded that I pay the difference (which I did without an argument) when I asked for a to go bag. The employees don't care and are SUPER SLOW and CANT GET AN ORDER RIGHT. I normally go here to grab some breakfast really quick and i know it can get pretty busy but I went around 1pm and it wasnt even that packed. I'm annoyed how rude the employees were,especially the cashier. I ordered an Egg White Thintastic Asparagus, mushroom and swiss sandwich with an iced coffee. I can look past unhappy and rude employees but LAZY employees, thats where i get annoyed. The cashier condescendingly told me to make my iced coffee by just putting the HOT COFFEE in this PLASTIC CUP and then putting ice... Did he not realize the ice would melt and water down the coffee since the coffee was piping hot?? Well i was confused and did it anyways and it created a watery-coffee mess that tasted awful. At this point i was like a bit annoyed but not enough to write a Yelp post. So i get home and open the package to my sandwich (which originally COVERED in grease and i had to ask for another bag) and the sandwich was broken into 3 pieces and looked awful. Monday Nov 20 5:30am. I ordered 3 bakers dozen of bagles; 1 egg bagles, 1 plain and everything bagles, and 1 chocolate chip and cinnamon raisin bagles. First she wouldn't give me boxes, insisted on bags. The first bag she filled was off the rack, so I couldn't count how many bagles she put in the bags. The 2nd bag she only put 11 and I had to remind her that it was supposed to be 13. I asked her if the first bag had 13 and she said yes. Instead of insisting she count it I trusted her. The 3rd bag I was sure she put 13 because I just reminded her. At check out she gave me paper shopping bags to carry my bagles, but the amount of bagles seemed like the bags weren't going to hold up. When I got to work I counted the first bag and she only gave me 12. I'm very frustrated because normally I have no issues with this store but this lady did not do a good job with her service, the gentleman who normally take my order are always very courteous and give great customer service but I did not get that vibe from this employee whom I had never seen at this store before. read more

I came here on a weekday morning to pick-up some bagels to bring to work. This was the first time I've ever been to Einstein Bros. I walked up to order and I requested a bagel box (13 bagels + 2 cream cream cheese). Then the next thing the lady helping me says is, "pay over there" as she points to the register. Not knowing what the ordering process was, I proceeded to the register. I get to the register and tell the woman at register what I ordered. She looks at me a little confused. She asked me if I had selected the cream cheeses yet. I look around and I see the refrigerated section with all the tubs of cream cheese. I told her that I will pick my own. Then she asked me if I wanted to pick my own bagels or if I was ok with the pre-selected boxes. I told her I did want to select my own bagels. So I pay, then she sends me back to the first lady. I was just a little disappointed with the lack of customer care from the first lady that helped me. If I ordered a box of bagels, she should automatically ask me if I want to select my bagels, not just quickly point me to the register. It wasn't until I got to work that I realized the bagels were not sliced in half. Partly my fault because I did not ask, but partly her fault for not asking me to begin with. Service needs a bit of work. I didn't feel very welcome. I felt like I was just being pushed through the line. I could have easily gone to Chesapeake Bagels or Panera or even Wegmans for bagels, but I drove the extra few miles because my co-workers prefer bagels from here. It would have been nice to be treated a little better. I have nothing negative to say about the bagels. Einstein Bros do make good quality bagels and I most likely will be returning to this location again (since it is close to work), but I hope to have a better experience next time. read more

This morning my husband and I were excited to try a new bagel place as we just moved into the area. The second we walked in the door we were greeted by a rude order taker. Kaitlyn was extremely rude and not just to my husband and I but to all of the customers around us. She was complaining that people were taking too long that they were busy. She made a gesture for my husband to hurry up after he took all of 20 seconds to place his order. She complained about the man and the child in front of us who were just looking at the menu before placing their order. And she complained that a man and his family didn't have the entire menu memorized when they were trying to order a half dozen bagels. I am surprised that people weren't leaving the second that they met this young woman. Everyone around us besides this woman was perfectly polite and professional but having someone that rude meet us at the door was enough to ruin our appetite. read more

I love bagels. Really thats it about the place. Their sandwiches are just rip off. I mean a sandwich that cost 8 dollars, no drink, have three tiny strips of chicken and cheese. Servers have difficulty understanding very simple requests. My 14 year old would do better. Line is always long. Not because its busy, as i mentioned you have to repeat the order at least 3 times. I was there for 30-40 minutes total on a Thursday morning around 11AM, just to get 3 toasted bagels to go. The wait is terrible for a big chain bagel shop. I have sympathy for the workers, because they're probably understaffed, but that wait is still unacceptable. This also isn't the first time I've waited an obscene amount of time for a few bagels. On top of that, I get home, and they put plain cream cheese on one of the bagels when I ordered strawberry. Slow is one thing, but at least get my order right if I'm going to wait 30-40 minutes for it. I also noticed two other customers whose orders might've been incorrect and went back to the cash register while I was waiting. I'm never going to this location again; I'd rather just drive a little longer to Chesapeake Bagel Bakery (probably would've been faster in the long run). read more

I am confused by all the bad ratings. The bagels are fresh, the selection is great, and the staff is super nice. Of course, there is a wait for that is what happens in Northern VA anywhere you find a place that's worth going back to. I witnessed so much aggression by customers because they had to wait a few minutes. The staff worked as diligently and as efficiently as possible. There was a new girl at the cash register; she was hesitant a few times, but was certainly friendly enough. The shift leader, Andreas, quickly stepped in to assist and helped move people and sandwiches along. He was polite to both customers and cashier in training. read more
