This store is always clean and service is quick -- but what really sends it over the top is the clear concern the staff shows for customers. I always feel welcome and safe here. I have celiac disease but I get bagels for my husband from this store-- his fav is cinnamon raisin with cream cheese, toasted of course! It is more important now than usual to show compassion for businesses attempting to protect us from potential threats from COVID-19. The staff at your favorite spot probably doesn't have an easy time of it-- they want to serve you and they want to keep themselves and everyone else safe and none of us really know what's going on. The reality is that many business owners are putting health above profit every day. When you "forget" your mask and cover your face with your shirt and they give you a pass-- for the fifth time this week, remember that they know. They know that we all want to pretend that this isn't real, that we all want "normal" back. Show some love respect and compassion during the mandate and politely comply! I keep expecting to see this place close. I arrived a full hour before their closing time and the door was locked, and they were mopping the floors. They have never put back seating since Covid, the decor is aged and dingy - clearly hasn't been updated since the store originally opened. They never have a working soda machine so you have to buy bottled. The hot breakfast sandwiches are never hot - they barely toast them and they are cold in the center when you get them. It used to be so good and I don't know what has happened to the store. read more

I was super disappointed by my trip to Einstein's this morning (Easter). The man who spoke to me sounded like I was being a huge inconvenience for asking for a dozen bagels to bring to my coworkers. I usually don't leave negative ratings however! There aren't many Einstein bagels in this area so the choices are limited. As it is I have to drive 15 miles to get to this one which is the closest! First, don't try to call the store, it's been my experience they do not answer the phone. Second, I really like the power protein bagel And usually don't mind paying a little bit extra for it, however this location is had a problem with consistency over the past several weeks. The bagels have in, general gotten smaller, and still some of the bagels are about half the size of the others. Some have been under cooked. Some have been scorched on the bottom. Sorry, don't have that. Want a cheddar jalapeño bagel to go on your chorizo sunrise? Sorry, we are out of the bagel that supposed to come on this sandwich. Want a bagel at all? Sorry, we are out of those and don't have any more in the back. Mind you this place is supposed to be open for another 5-6 hours by the time I arrived and are out of 80% of their bagels and refuse to make any more. The bright side: since Einstein's was out of literally every bagel choice anyone actually wants to eat, I went next door to Robeks and actually got something healthy. This is our neighborhood bagel spot and my family used to love going here. Breakfasts before work/school. Weekends, too. Now, I hate to say it, but I'm looking for something better. The service is bad. It doesn't even matter that the bagels are awesome. It shouldn't take 15 minutes to toast and butter my bagel. No matter how busy you are. If you have plenty of time to kill, though, the bagels really are good and the sandwich creations are clever and unique. WARNING: This tiny parking lot is small, oddly shaped and at a (somehow) confusing 5-way intersection. Park behind the shop if you can and save the paint job on your shiny new car. Great quick bagel joint. I wouldn't normally review a chain like Einstein's but I wanted to give props to the particularly fresh salmon on my bagel and lox the other morning. Having just left Manhattan after a year and a half, this thing stacked up to some of the finer fare in the city. Okay, so it's a chain. I know this, you know this. But Einstein Bros is still my favorite bagel place. Now, I'm not from NYC, I don't know their bagels other than that the rest of the world considers them to be the epitome of everything a bagel should be. So, with that in mind, if you're an NYC bagel person, you'll have to take my recommendation with a grain of salt. Coffee is decently good, bagels are chewy and soft, and the schmears are delicious, but it's the staff that really is their crowning glory. The new manager, Craig, is an incredibly pleasant fellow with great customer service skills. I was a bit skeptical as I was a huge fan of Julie, but Craig definitely has maintained her high level of service. And, he's just as sarcastic in the morning as I am. Which a gal can appreciate. I'm a big fan of their Chipotle Turkey wrap (sans the hard cheeses) and their lox and cream cheese (jalapeno cream cheese for me!) bagels. They also have no problem holding a dozen bagels for me (potato bagels sell out SO fast) until I can pick them up on my way home. read more

Wallhaven is lucky to have a bagel shop as nice as this one. Like any bagel store it is best that you don't go when they will likely be busy. Since I know that I go before or after the rush. Their food quality is outstanding as is their Vanilla Hazelnut coffee. Like their mug club as well. Many healthy options. The Veg Out sandwich is the best all- veggie sandwich anyplace. Staff is accommodating and friendly. Coupon club works for me. I don't go in any bagel place that is busy because that kind of food can be time consuming to prepare. Staff was so rude it wasn't even worth it. I was the only customer in the store and the staff treated me like I was an inconvenience. I greeted them asking how their day was and wasn't answered. Told them to have a great day and wasn't answered. Rude rude rude from start to finish. Also almost died trying to get out of the parking lot. I ordered an egg and turkey sausage sandwich and the sausage patty went across half of the bagel at BEST. I just moved down the street so I thought I'd give them a try but there are plenty of other places to choose from around here that won't be so rude. Their food is good but that's because it's a basic chain restaurant. I live right around the corner and when I first moved here I would frequent a lot but I can't stand the employees anymore. If you want to order more than one item it confuses the hell out of them. It seems like they are all new but I know that they are not. They have to be high or something. I was getting lunch to go for a couple people and an employee assumed it was all for me and asked if I was pregnant. I am not even a big person so can you imagine them saying that to someone who is actually bigger. I work in the food industry as a server so I know how things work. I believe they went through renovations because those pictures don't match with where I went. It did look clean, new/modern inside, with the a fast food like, creative, easy to read/choose menu on top. I got the veggie cream on toasted plain bagel. **The University of Akron, Bierce Library Einstein Bros. Bagels location isn't listed so I'm writing about it here.** Not a bad place to stop between classes to grab some coffee and a bagel or muffin. Seems clean enough and the staff is courteous. When I saw the price for my purchase I was both pleased and surprised. Coffee and a bagel (or in my case muffin) for under $4.00 is a steal compared to Starbucks. But then when I went to get my coffee I figured out why. Its not freshly brewed. Its straight from a canister and incredibly weak. What I got for my $4.00 was a admittedly tasty muffin and an old, lukewarm cup of coffee-ish flavored brown water. Sadly, I only discovered this when I sat down in my next class. The modest amount of cream I added completely overpowered any hint of actual coffee. I ended up tossing it. Leaving me with a $4.00 muffin. Maybe I caught them at an odd time or between changing canisters but I expected more. read more

Yes, I, too visit Einstein Bagel restaurant on a regular basis and like the environment except for a couple things which why I only gave them a 4 rating instead of a 5 this time. I have found a couple of the staff members lacking in common courtesy - meaning, the other day I was waiting to pay for coffee and one of the employees asked the Assistant Manager if I was waiting for an interview and told her she hoped not because she is a "good judge of character". Hmm, if I wasn't a Christian woman I would have said a few choice words as to why the employee was not helping to ring me up so I could go about my way. Evidently this employee is not a good judge of character because I served "honorably" in the U.S. Navy, was a Civil Service employee for several years and awarded more than one Customer Service Award plus I have been a woman truck driver for three years, which is one of the most dangerous jobs across the board and takes "skills" to be able to maneuver a big "rig". Another thing is though this is a place to sit and enjoy, it is hard to enjoy when a couple customers the other day were talking out loud about who was or was not a "prostitute". Really?!?! I expect those kind of conversations at McDonalds across the street; but several church people and children come into Einsteins, so isn't there a way staff could perhaps help steer customer's talks to something less insulting??? Anyway, other than these couple of issues, I love the Vanilla Hazelnut coffee and the Autumn brands. Hope things take a step up so visitors to the West Exchange store will be more inviting and allow people to sit a bit instead of wanting to get out of there. Customers bring in revenue and I would think employees would want to have as many customers as possible, especially when other shops in the area are taking some of their customers away. read more

Will not go there again! Worst place I ever visited. Worker saying no eggs in loud voice, I'm impatient, I can't wait on her, someone else wait on her, and glaring like I am evil. Made me want to cry. Should of walked out of there. 4 people did not know what I wanted after explaining it to them. I wasn't impatient. All I asked for was a sandwich , 2 bagels , dessert , and a soda . I told them that I just wanted ringed out for my order and would wait for my sandwich to be done at the table. All they would do is call my name and I would get my sandwich. That's all I asked for. This place is very disorganized and has a lot of dirty tables.
