It could have been better. I had been to Café Arnone a few years ago when we first moved to Akron and remembered it fondly, so I suggested it when meeting a friend for coffee last week. When I arrived around 1:00 pm, the café was quiet. There was no one at the counter, so I walked around to find someone and ask where to sit since the space has more of a café feel on one end and a wine-bar feel on the other. I was told to order at the counter and sit anywhere. I sat in the front area to wait for my friend. Once she arrived, we went up to order. I asked about a menu and was pointed to a sign on the counter. Since it was my first visit in a while, I asked the employee what she recommended, and she flipped the sign to a breakfast sandwich called The Sal. I ordered that. I then had to ask about beverages, as none were mentioned. I only wanted water and was directed to a carafe on the counter to serve myself. Our food came out within a few minutes. The presentation was a little disappointing. I chose the vegetable side, which turned out to be two carrot sticks and two celery sticks lying in a small puddle of water. The sandwich looked good, but when I took my first bite, it was overwhelmingly salty. I understand bacon is salty, but this tasted like an excessive amount of salt had been added. After a second bite, I brought it back to the register and asked if it could be replaced, which they did. My disappointment wasn't so much in the mistake, but in the lack of acknowledgment--there was no apology and no follow-up to ask if the replacement was better. The restaurant wasn't busy, and while I'm sure they have many regulars, the lack of greeting when I walked in and the lack of follow-up stood out to me. I did appreciate the wall of ancestors--it was a nice touch--but overall the service felt disengaged. Maybe it was an off day, or perhaps inexperience from a young staff. I may try again in the future, but this visit fell short of expectations. read more

I was in Akron area and saw this place so I decided I wanted a slice of pizza. I walked in and saw a food counter. No one was there so I walked to the bar area up front. Still no one there. After a few minutes, someone came out. I ordered the pepperoni pizza. It came in square piece. The dough was thick. I can't say it was anything special, but it tasted OK. Sauce, cheese and dough seemed fresh. I thought it was expensive for the smaller size of it. I'll have to try their other offerings next time I'm around. read more

This cafe was pretty nice. The coffee was tasty - kinda middle of the ground when it comes to coffee. The food was nice! I got a breakfast bowl and it hit the spot the morning I went. The service was a little confusing. They gave us a number and brought the food to our table, but we needed to go up and grab the coffee ourselves. We didn't know the coffee wouldn't be brought with our food - so that was kinda weird. The inside looked clean and they have a patio if you wanted to dine outside. It seems like this cafe has a lot going on - there's a bar and an ice cream shop inside. It's not the type of cafe I would want to sit at for a while (like reading a book or something). It was nice and I would suggest trying it! But I probably won't keep it in my coffee shop rotation. I prefer someplace a bit more cozy. Overall rating: 4.2/5 stars read more

My chai tea latte was so hot that it blistered my mouth. Beverages are meant to be consumed while eating. It did not reach a reasonable temperature for over 30 minutes; the time it took us to get home. No matter. It was so watery that I threw it out. My husband had the mint gelato. This place is very unique. It's part gelato shop, coffee shop, and wine bar all in one. I think they actually pulled off all three pretty well. I tried the coffee and sweets but did not partake in the wine bar. I don't know if there ever will be a time I need all three at once but the wine bar space looked decent. You can enjoy your treats and libations anywhere inside or they also have a patio as well as a drive thru. read more

What wonderful little gem! I was so pleased to be recommended this place! Cafe Arnone is absolutely adorable. It's the type of coffee shop you expect to see in a more downtown area. I had the honey lavender latte which was perfection, im already devastated that it's a seasonal drink. My sister and I got a few items off the menu and all of them were delicious. The staff were very welcoming and we patient as we placed our order since it was or first time. If you're looking for a cute place to take photos and get some delicious food and drinks this is the place for you. I'm already planning a trip back to try the gelato. read more

I came here because of the drip drive where you're supposed to try so many coffee shops in the area and then get entered into a contest. I've been here before and wasn't that impressed but I thought I'd give it another try. This time I ordered an espresso macchiato, which is kind of my signature drink for trying at every coffee shop to see how good they are at making espresso. I was not impressed. Half of the espresso macchiato is presentation in the small cup. I was presented with her large regular cup. The espresso macchiato had a little bit of a burnt flavor not smooth. It should've had a splash of milk in it and then foam on top, but they only put foam on top. They need to research a little better on how to make a perfect espresso macchiato. I would not go out of my way to come to this coffee shop. They do offer other things besides coffee, such as gelato some food and a wine area. Service was average nothing super friendly and nothing super rude. Nothing that would invite me to want to come back because I was treated amazingly. read more

I normally really like this place a pleasant alternative to the chain coffee/food places. Today was an exception the large seating section was rented out for a baby shower. So the only seating was the 10 seats near the ordering counter. I spent $25 before I realized there was no place to sit. That maybe my bad but ppl don't come into order takeout. Jackpot!!!! Since moving to Fairlawn, I've been trying to expand my web of favorite haunts. I've driven by Arnone several times and have always wanted to give it a whirl. Today was the day, I was in a mood for ice cream and their gelatos were incredible. There were at least 6 flavors I'm dying to try, so I will be back soon and often. Once a family favorite when first opened, this bistro has lost everything about it that made it an upscale coffee spot - a remodel has made the interior cafeteria like with poor service, cardboard food, self serve room temperature water for dining in and a microscopic amount of espresso in my affogato that was handed to me in a paper cup. what?! The IKEA shelving loaded with wine blocking off half the original bar area looked tacky and while I don't mind bussing myself usually, it's usually in an establishment that doesn't ask me to tip. Stopped in on 11/19/21. Their 3rd night open and first Friday. We were very fortunate to get a table when we walked in, as there was only one available. We sat down and we're immediately handed menus and Summer brought us two waters. We both ordered a cocktail and then a salad to split. The waitress recommended we get wine as it was all Italian wine. However, all of the wine was $10-$12 a glass and all of the bottles of wine they had to offer could be bought for less than $20 at the store. Therefore my fiancé and I did not get any wine and stuck with cocktails which were also $12 each though. They only have one salad on the menu currently. However, the one salad we have to offer is truly delicious. It was a mix of greens, cheese, nuts, raisins, and more topped with a delicious vinaigrette. We ordered the four cheese pizza and added Italian sausage to it. The pizza was only a 10 inch pizza so a small pizza at best when comparing the size to typical chains. The pizza was absolutely incredible, our biggest qualm was that it was $16 for said pizza and it was barely enough for two people. We decided to go all out and get gelato as well. They had a four pack gelato sampler, so we decided to do that. You could not pick which gelatos you wanted they just offered a sampler, and you got whatever four flavors they brought you. During the day when it is a coffee shop they have 10 or so flavors, so we were hoping to be able to pick from those, but the four flavors they offered for tonight were very good. The wait staff was very kind and a tentative to us on night and what seemed to be two of the owners came by our Tabor to check on us a couple of times as well. We had a great time and the food was excellent. Just be prepared to spend a decent amount on dinner. read more

Randomly drove by this cafe and decided to stop in and I'm so happy we did! I tried one of their fall specialty drinks--the maple blondie latte which was a little on the sweeter side but still delicious. We had gone in only for coffee, but once we saw they had gelato flights, we had to try! We sampled the pumpkin spice, espresso, apple cider sorbet and vegan chocolate amareno. Stopped into this place because I needed a good ol pick me up. Walking in the front doors there appears to be a pizzeria and a wine bar looked like a great vibe. In back they have the cafe and gelato bar. This might be one of the cutest cafes ever. I ordered the strawberry matcha with oat milk. Heavenly. I could drink this every day. Sadly I don't live in the area. The barista was super sweet and put care into making a good drink. He told me my drink was modeled after the Italian flag. Super cool. What a perfect Akron gem! Coffee, food, gelato! Oh my! They really pride themselves on being an authentic itialian coffee shops, and truly I don't know what that means but I believe it! The gelato is phenomenal, coffee even better...plus they have literally EVERY milk alternative (including macadamia!) Stopped off here for a coffee beverage. The inside dining hasn't re-opened yet, but drive-thru has an extensive menu to order from. Items include coffee beverages, food, and gelato. The staff here is very nice and helpful. I had my dog with me and a staff member gave her a dog biscuit. It was nice that my dog was noticed. I didn't have to wait long for my coffee. I ordered the peanut butter mocha for something different. Some of my friends recommended it. The taste surprised me, in a good way, and after I took a few sips. Wasn't sure at first, but I would definitely order this coffee drink again. The next time I plan to ask for whipped cream. I think the addition of whipped cream would be a bonus taste sensation. I was disappointed with the shakerato (no 1/2 & 1/2 and seemed to have simple syrup or sugar in it that made it too sweet), but could have overlooked all of it. If you've never visited here, this place it's a bit confusing. There is gelato to the right, the cafe in the middle and a wine/ pizza bar to the left. There is a separate door for everything but really each place is open to the other inside. There is no signage about hours for the wine/ pizza shop but it's not open all the same days as the cafe portion. On my trip here, I stopped for the coffee. I had their coffee over a year ago from their coffee truck and was excited to learn they had a brick and mortar location. I ordered a large pistachio biscotti latte and it was delicious. The flavor of pistachio really came through and wasn't too light. The service was good and I had my drink in only a few minutes. read more

We had high expectations after checking out their website and reading reviews. Our experience, however, was pretty disappointing. We ordered the pistachio buratta pizza. They were out of the pesto that served as the base for the pizza so we opted for just olive oil as the base. The crust, made in house, was great. But our pizza did not have any buratta cheese on it. I didn't bother saying anything because there was only one young lady working both the register and out front. And she had too much going on. Usually I love coming here! Today they advertised that they now serve sweet cream cold foam and I was so excited to try it, so I ordered a large! But my coffee came out and it had no cream in it and a strange bubbly top, so I thought maybe they just didn't add a lot of cold foam to it? I've grown incredibly frustrated with this place. I never know what their hours are because on yelp or google they're not specific enough. Apparently they stop serving food at 2 and their pizza restaurant opens at 5 but I'm not sure if it's every day? I shouldn't have to be like a member of the Scooby Gang to try and figure out when I can just eat. I brought my parents and grandparents here and was just overall not impressed. I have to say the bread is delicious though! However I got the The sez (an Italian sandwich) and it had five small thin slices of salami on it with greens and sauce. It would've been lovely but I feel like I got cheated on the portions... there was barely any filling!! 4/10 My grandpa and dad got the grilled cheese and I was in shock with how cheap it looked. The cheese looked dry and was not melty in the slightest. 1/10 My grandma got the caprese sandwich and it was delicious, no complaints 9/10 Now i had ordered a Tuscan chicken sandwich for my mother but the girl with the round face and brown hair working the counter said the order never went in and told us explicitly "she would get it for us". After 15 minutes of eating our food, the sandwich never came. I saw her joking with her coworkers and politely asked her where the sandwich is and she said we would need to pay for a new one. I am 100% ok with paying for it but it felt like she intentionally misled us to believe we would be getting the sandwich when in fact she never even put the order in. Her attitude was unacceptable and she never once smiled at us. As someone around the same age as her who works in the service industry at least FEIGN being nice to people but to have someone go "what do you want" right when you walk up and not once be kind is quite honestly disappointing. I do want to say I appreciate the girl with the blonde hair and glasses. She was incredible at making coffee and just very friendly! She told me her favorite gelato flavors included the espresso and the pistachio so I got one of each for my grandpa and I. We will not be going back. The food had tiny portions, the hours are confusing, and the brown haired girl just ruined our experience... 3.5/10 The gelato is amazing though. read more

A truly Italian experience--not your typical American coffee bar. When I visited Café Arnone on their opening day I was floored and totally impressed! Café Arnone is a beautiful coffee bar with beautiful and top notch espresso equipment. And it's designed with purpose. As I sat at the bar really enjoying my double shot espresso and latte and trying to soak up all the excitement I overheard one of the co-owners talk about the intensional design and purpose of the coffee bar. It's was very busy that day and the workers had to apologize for the wait, but an apology probably wasn't in order because as I learned from the conversation I overheard an Italian coffee bar like Café Arnone is intentionally designed to slow people down and experience face-to-face extended conversations with friends and family. Café Arnone is your pace for great coffee and a relaxing environment. What I love about Café Arnone is the variety of brew types: espresso, drip, pour over, and cold and nitro brews on tap. And they are the only coffee bar in town that will serve La Colombe's draft lattes on tap!!!!! Totally delicious The actually coffee bar is beautiful and a pleasant place to pull up a seat. The only criticism of the bar seating would be the espresso machines that are positioned right next to the bar in front of some of the bar seats and the person sitting in those seats will have to stare at the back of an espresso machine. It's a beautiful espresso machine, but it assaults the person's line of vision. I didn't go for the gelato or menu items, just the coffee. There are plenary of menu items to fill those hungry tummies after you've relaxed for an hour or two talking with a friend or reading a book. This is definitely a place I'll recommend to family or friends when we are trying to find a place to meet up at for coffee and conversation. read more

The chocolate chip and coconutty cookies were hard and really cold and unremarkable coffee shop baked goods. The caprese sandwich was unbelievable! They were out of chicken (?) so I chose this amazing sandwich instead. I've never had this type of bread so soft yet so lightly crunchy on the outside from the panini press. The balsamic was sweet and divinely paired with fresh giant juicy tomato slices, mixed greens, pesto, and Buffalo mozzarella. Must try. read more

This restaurant takes pride as one of the most authentic Italian bakery/cafes in Fairlawn, OH. So I decided to give it a shot! Due to Covid, the indoor is closed, but drive thru is open and you can sit outside after getting your food through drive-thru. We got Hazelnut-figs gelato and Canoli gelato as shown on the photo.
