tl;dr: My husband and I strongly recommend Ego Blinds for high quality Hunter Douglas shades with very fast time from consultation to installation (2 weeks). We recently moved to a place that did not have blinds and began using temporary paper blinds. We originally contacted Rebarts Interiors in Los Altos as they had a done a great job with our previous place's Hunter Douglas blinds. We booked their earliest available slot for a design consultation, which was 5 weeks into the future. While waiting, we decided to check out some other Hunter Douglas suppliers. Ego Blinds was the first place we stopped by on a Saturday. Mr. Shin helped us and told us he could do our design consultation that same afternoon. He came over and measured all our windows while my husband and I tried out different color samples and made our selections. I should note that the design consultation was a bit different that our consultation with Rebarts several years prior. The Rebarts consultant gave us lots of suggestions on style, color, etc. and helped us pick the design. Our consultation with Ego Blinds was more self-directed, but this was fine with us as we had a pretty good idea of what we were interested in. Mr. Shin told us the installation would happen in about 3-4 weeks. But he actually far exceeded our expectations by installing the blinds just 2 weeks after the consultation! So we ended up getting all the shades in our house installed before the time for our Rebarts design consultation even happened! (For comparison, several years ago, it took 7 weeks for Rebarts from consultation to installation.) We got blackout Duette top-down bottom-up shades for the bedrooms and roller shades for the common areas. We got our main bedroom shades motorized, and it has been great to be able to schedule the shades to open shortly before our morning alarm (so that we wake up naturally to the sunlight). The Hunter Douglas blinds are excellent quality, and we are very thankful for how quickly Ego Blinds allowed us to ditch our temporary paper blinds. Thank you! read more

I want to give Ego Blinds FIVE STARS for great customer service. Eight years ago (2017) we purchased a set of Hunter Douglas top-down/bottom-up blinds from Ego Blinds. We love them. A few days ago one of the internal springs broke. I called Ego and they told me to bring them in. Unfortunately, I had tried to fix them myself, so all the parts were scattered in a mess and I couldn't even put the parts back together. He told me he would fix them under warranty, even though I had made a mess of things (normally a 15 minute job, but it was going to take two hours because I made a mess of it... but he would still do under warranty). I can't thank him enough for repairing them. They work great, now. I definitely recommend Ego Blinds. We were looking for top down/bottom up cellular shades and Hunter Douglas was one of the few companies that offered this. We found Ego Blinds through Yelp and met with Woo to review colors and cellular shades size. The whole process was smooth and pleasant. The shades arrived before we were ready and Woo was fine waiting until we were ready to have them installed. He came right on time and did a great job installing them. We're really happy with them and they allow us the privacy options we were looking for. Hunter Douglas (HD) is expensive, but we felt the pricing was fair within the realm of what you can expect with HD based solutions. We wouldn't hesitate to use Woo and Ego Blinds again. read more

I most gave up on getting Hunter Douglas blinds because they were price prohibitive (not all places offer the same pricing) when somehow Ego Blinds came out in my search. Woo gave me a directional quote over text and was able to come out the next day to do measurements! Once the blinds arrived, he wrote me immediately for delivery and installation. The best part of the process was that Woo is the installer himself, vs many of the other Hunter Douglas outlets that may use hired folks to do the installation. I had Hunter Douglas NewStyle shutters installed by Ego Frames and Blinds after I replaced my windows. I got three estimates and Woo's estimate was the best by a significant margin. He was able to come out and measure my windows the day after they were installed. I wanted to keep the old blinds for one of the windows, and he re-mounted them on the spot for free. I called Ego Frames and Blinds last week and scheduled an in-home consultation for 9 AM last Friday. After staying home from work and waiting 45 minutes with no one showing up, I called them to try to find out why no one had arrived yet. No one picked up the phone, so I left a voicemail requesting that they call me back. It's been nearly a week and I haven't heard back at all. Unfortunately, you only have one chance to make a good first impression, and the lack of communication from Ego Frames and Blinds has left a bad one for me. So if you're considering Ego Frames and Blinds, it might be worth it to double confirm appointments with them. I'm still hoping that I will hear from them so that I can get an explanation as to why I haven't been contacted at all, but I definitely won't be using them for our window treatments. read more

I found this place through Yelp. Had gotten 3 quotes. I liked that this is a local small business and the owner, Woo, is super nice. He came out to measure within 2 days. All other places made me schedule for 3 weeks out. Woo himself did the measurement and even the installation. He's very neat and cleaned up completely after the install. We had a lot of questions as we were ordering a pretty high end brand of Hunter Douglas half-automatic blinds. Never once did he rush our decision or push us towards a higher price point. His showroom has lots of examples and he was patient to explain and show us everything. When he was done with the install, he noticed one set of blinds was a bit too short. Only by no more than 1/4 inch. I wouldn't even have noticed. He automatically said he would get them replaced free of charge from Hunter Douglas and did the paperwork for us. He came back within a week to install them. He's always able to come out to your house within short notice, especially within the local area. Love his service, attitude and knowledge. Needed to repair my top down, bottom up cellular blinds that I purchased from 3-Day Blind's. After 3-day refused to repair them for me, I found this place. Great service and great price. I was quoted a price to repair the strings, but turned out that the internal mechanism needed fixing and blinds had to be sent to Hunter Douglas for repairs - no extra charge! Very good experience with Ego Blinds. The gentleman came out the day I called, just later that evening and took measurements and gave me a quote. It was similar to what I had received from the Blinds vendor at costco, but the complete experience was so much better! Ego blinds emailed me the contract as we were talking and I gave him a check for 50%. He said he would be back in about 10 days (mind you the installation time at costco blinds was 6 weeks!)... Well in exactly a week he returned and installed most of the blinds. One had a measurement issue so he returned a week later for that window. But within 2 weeks of my call to Ego blinds, I had new blinds. Great experience, prompt and efficient. Highly recommend- and would use Ego again for certain. Stay away from the costco blinds people- flaky, don't show up when they set appointments, or reply to email questions. read more

I just visited this store to get one of my blinds fixed. Mr. Woo asked me what the problem was with the blind and told me that it would be done in one hour. In one hour, it is done. I'm pleased with it because he can do the fixing himself without having to send it in to the manufacturing. The charge is reasonable and the service was quick.
