This was our first time going to Eggspectation, we went for dinner and although they give you the dinner menu you can have the day/breakfast menu as well- My husband had the French Onion soup he enjoyed it they serve the bread outside the bowl a garlic bread, flavorful but way to greasy. He then had the flatbread sausage and pepper- which was excellent more like a pizza than a flat bread- but very tasty. I had the heavenly crepe which had grilled chicken, spinach, mushrooms and three cheeses- it was delicious, full of flavor from the cheeses and the chicken was done perfectly. The side salad was also good- don't remember the flavor of the vinaigrette but good. We saw some nice cocktails being made but didn't have any this visit. Will definitely be back! My husband and I stopped by for brunch. The place is warm and inviting and the staff were pleasant. We had calamari as an appetizer and it was over-cooked...slightly disappointing. I was pleasantly surprised they offered turkey products so I chose the High Rise pancake stack for the main course. It was a ton of food but I tried to tackle the stack as it was quit tasty. My husband had the crab cakes and order a side a grits. The serving was a little small but my husband said everything was delicious. Went with my boyfriend for a Saturday brunch; He got the S'mores French toast and I got the All American, and split everything. Both meals were good, and I think it was made better by splitting it. My bf really liked the s'mores French toast, but it was really sweet so adding something savory to it made it even better. My bacon came out burnt, but there was manager walking around who got it switched out quickly. The service was quick, and the atmosphere is really nice. The kitchen staff had an issue with our order which happens, they were honest and kept us up to date and had our food out in no time but gave is an appetizer for the extra wait which wasn't that long. All food was hot and looked niced. Honestly don't see why they're not more busy for dinners, their food is wonderful so is the staff and the inside is beautiful and welcoming. The wait was long for a state that isn't very busy - about 45 minutes - and when we were finally seated the waiters were so inattentive. Took about 25 minutes to even be approached to start our drink orders. Though the menu is vast and sounds so tasty the food is very basic and not much flavor (even lacked salt). My espresso vodka iced coffee drink was very bitter, the chicken crepe was flavorless, and the side of poutine was just okay. It wasn't smothered enough in gravy and the cheese curds added were not even warm as they were still in cube form and not melted as described. I would definitely not recommend or come back unless 1. the food gets better and 2. the staff becomes more attentive to their patrons. Waste of about 2.5 hours of my day off today and also not cheap! Save your money and go to a diner instead where you can enjoy large portions, good waiters, reasonable priced food, and most importantly - not be wasting your precious time! read more

The food is great but it really seems like they skip in the order for wait time. Example: I had a party of 3 and I was told 45min wait. No problem. A man and his daughter walked past me about 5 minutes into my wait and asked what the wait time was. I told him my time which was 40 min. When I finally was seated with my party, I saw the man and his daughter were already finishing up their meal!! Having worked in a restaurant before, they should have been seated after me because they came in AFTER ME. I don't know that I'd come back again just based on that fact alone. read more

I was very excited to try this new breakfast spot. Going on a Sunday a wait was to be expected; however, I then was able to observe how their restaurant ran as I waited. As a customer it was very frustrating after waiting 40 minutes for a table but observing there being as many as 6 empty tables at a time open where customers could have been seated. I'm addition they waited over 5 minutes calling names before moving to the next customer. The excuse was that the kitchen can get backed up so the manager leaves them open to give them a break. This is just either poor management on their part or they are in need of better kitchen staff. The food was good but nothing special and certainly didn't make up for the poor customer service. Until their manager wants to take more of a hands on approach and take his eyes off the iPad I won't be going back until they are prepared to handle a Sunday brunch rush. read more

We drove from Philadelphia to Christiana Delaware to have breakfast at Eggspectations Restaurant. We arrived at 11:04am. Our reservation was for 11:15am, reservation for 2 and was told they would text when our table was ready. We sat in the parking lot waiting to receive our text. At 11:30 my fiance went in to check our status because we noticed people were coming after us and being seated. At that time he was told they were clearing tables and we were next. 15 minutes later we were still waiting. 11:45 he again went in to check our status when he was told there weren't any tables available because they were also seating walk ins. Which makes absolutely no sense at all. After waiting a few minutes to talk to the manager we just decided to leave and canceled our reservation at the front desk. At 11:53 we get a text saying our table was ready after we just complained, canceled and already out the parking lot. Our only reason for being there was to have breakfast at this place we heard so much about. Never ever again will I attempt to spend our money here. He throughly enjoyed it! My 5 year daughter was quite happy with her pancakes and bacon. The pancakes were huge! I will say it is very loud due to the high ceilings. This was probably going to be our "Go To" place after our first visit. Our waitress Shivone(spelling may not be correct, sorry) could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. Guest had blueberry pancakes, whipped cream was separated. Service was very slow, was not busy, Friday evening @8pm. We ordered the Brie and apples with walnuts. Could not wait to try!! Soggy bread, not a crostini as suppose to be!! Kitchen needs to look up or Google Crostini/crouton. They are virtually the same, and yes...both TOASTED!!! Third visit for lunch, very busy. Asked for Cobb Salad with hard boiled eggs instead of poached. Never got either. Three pieces of crumbled blue cheese on salad. No dressing on or served with salad. Asked for no capers, loaded with!! Guest had eggs over easy, served without any toast. Paid $1.49 ala carte for one slice. Have not been back since, hoping they will get their act together or hire a working FOH manager that gives a @@@, or needs to get out of the F&B/Hospitality business all together!! read more

The service was good. The wait time was awful where the manager gave out discounts for next time. The waffle I ordered was over cooked and the woman next to me shrimps was undercooked. I personally do not mind the wait as long as my meal is correct. I believe they will get it together because this is a new establishment. The restaurant in Silver Springs, Maryland is excellent. Yummy flavor wise but we each had one good egg and one over poached. Also the hollandaise was splitting. His potatoes were a mix of hot and cold temperature wise which was strange. I had the Avocado Eggs Benedict. There were way too many fresh herbs on it and it tasted like there was also some sort of relish. It did not taste good. I couldn't taste the eggs or the avocado. It came with a very nice fresh fruit salad. It would have been nice if it had also come with some potatoes. One friend ordered the fried shrimp salad. It took over 1/2 hour to get our food. The server said it was because they had to make the hard boiled egg that came on the salad. I appreciate that they do not use pre-made boiled and peeled eggs that come in a citric acid solution like most restaurants but they could have boiled a bunch in the morning or the day before. They keep. My other friend ordered the Chesapeake Crepe. It was loaded with crab and was very good.
