Southwest Scrambled!
Shantanu B.

Folks should really visit a place at twice before declaring it a disappointment. We all have good and bad days guys. I always prefer a meal at Eggsmart than munching on a burger at MacD with a defrosted patty. And I somehow always had good experience. And this particular location doesn't disappoint either. All standard fare on an Eggsmart menu. I've tried the omelettes and egg scrambles. Accompanying fries and bread is fresh and crisp. Fresh orange juice is, well, fresh. Servers are nice and professional enough to warrant a tip. No problem with parking. Hassle free outing!

Eggs Benny with peameal.

Nothing spectacular. The Yelp reviews were pretty average but the Trip Advisor ones were better so we decided to give it a shot. Brunch food is my go-to and am always on the hunt for a good all day breakfast place. We got to the restaurant about 12:30 on a Friday and there were 4 other sets of diners; I will say it is very nicely decorated and quite welcoming. The menu is extensive but we came for breakfast food so that's what we ordered; eggs Benny for me and the kid's breakfast (bacon eggs toast) for my 9 y/o. The meals came out quickly enough - rightly so as there were only 3 other tables at this point, but both meals were lukewarm (not cold though so no biggie). The hollandaise sauce was your average run of the mill commercial sauce from a mix - tastes identical to Ben & Florentine or Cora's or Sunset Grill or any other fast service breakfast place. I really expected a bit more for the price ($11). My real complaint though was the home fries, they were pre cooked cubes of potato and then quickly warmed up and "seasoned". They actually weren't seasoned nor were they cooked; out of the entire meal maybe 3 of them were edible - they were still hard on the inside, soft (not crispy) on the outside, and absolutely tasteless. I let the waitress know when she came when we were done, she didn't really care that both of our plates were still half full and just took them away. She did ask if we wanted another order after i said she should mention something to the chef, but it was at the end of the meal and we just wanted to leave. Maybe if she had checked up on us at some other point in the meal I could have let her know but I barely saw her; I saw more of the other waitress who was actually interacting with her tables. Oh and $2.50 for a class of orange juice from a box. Not fresh squeezed. And a third ice. Oh well, definitely won't be back.

The classic!

We arrived around 11am on a long weekend and they had plenty of tables available, but by the time we were leaving, all the tables were full. You need to order your food first and get seated after. They bring your order to you, but if you need a coffee refill, or milk and cream, you need to pick them up yourself at the station. Coffee refill was a challenge for us, since we had to go through all other tables and wait for the staff to refill our coffee, and even there were times they were out of milk and had to drink our coffee black. We ordered "Key West Eggs", "Crepe au Fraises", "Slow Roasted Lamb" and "Canadian Peameal Back Bacon". Our food was delicious and we would love to go back and try more of their menu items. Just expecting delays for our coffee this time. Lol

The Balsamic Chicken (with bacon, goat cheese, roasted red peppers, spinach and pesto aioli) was fantastic, and had excellent flavours. The side dipping sauce was delicious. The Florence St. Sandwich (with tomatoes, artichokes, Asiago and sun dried tomato pesto) was good, but I didn't enjoy the flavours as much so would probably try something different the next time. I would have preferred to select my own bread since the ciabatta and panini was hard to cut through with a knife - it got messy. It would have been better if it was cut in half before being served to the customer to make it easier to eat. After ordering from the counter, there was sign to wait to be seated. Service just to get seated was extremely slow. In the end, we asked someone if we could seat ourselves, which we did. The food was then brought to the table, but it was confusing since we had to get up again to go to a different counter to put cream and sugar in our coffee. Although the portion size of the chicken and ingredients were good, the sandwiches were pricey considering there was no table service, and seating was disorganized. It would be difficult to host large groups or families here. It would have been ok to reduce the amount of chicken to cut costs and price since there were two thick layers of meat. Ambiance was good.

Maro's is awesome!!!!!…read more I could not recommend this place enough. I went with a party of 5 and the service was great. They were very attentive to making sure we had a great time and enough sauces. I think a tale tale sign of a good restaurant is when they warn you that you're getting too much food, and Maro's did. We didn't care though bc we needed to try as much as possible. My friend had previously gone and they gave her a free salad, so once again bomb service. The food was amazingggggggggg. I'm salivating thinking about it. All of their dips (garlic mayo, hot sauce, humus) literally bussed down in my mouth. The eggplant and artichokes literally took me to heaven. They were so carmelized but once you hit into them, they melted away. I floated away to another dimension with them. Everything we got was amazing and my group was so gluttonous and I don't even care. We also got drinks and they were all amazing. Anyways I would travel back to Canada just for this and buss down once again.

Recent visits, I have found they refurnished the space -- it's now much darker, and several smaller tables fill the space now, whereas before, it was filled with long tables and you would be seated beside strangers for your meal. It had a different, lighter and more communal vibe before. Also on recent visits, the staff server are a lot younger -- still warm and welcoming, but with less urgency. So getting assistance takes longer. Although this makes for a nice slow meal, if that's what you're looking for! The food however, is still A+! It's the reason I keep coming back again and again. And why when friends come to visit, Maro's is always in the Top 3 places to try in Halton. They consistently serve up fantastic Lebanese food. If you're dining with a vegetarian -- they will be THRILLED with the options here! I daresay they lead with vegetables here. No one will be disappointed with vegetarian option here -- even the meat eaters. Be sure to check out their drink menu as well. Their cocktails -- and mocktails -- are great. Parking outside is all paid parallel street parking, since it's downtown Oakville. But if you visit on Sundays -- parking is free!

I asked our server, who assured us it was "on its way," but apparently it took a detour to another dimension because it never arrived. I finally had to track down someone else just to get the waffle made. By the time it showed up, the whole experience was pretty much toast. Funny enough, the only thing not pur or simple was the service.

August 27/2025: Breakfast with Lindsay…read more Our server "McKayla" was very nice & polite. Food came to the table at a normal speed. I ordered the Steak/Mushroom "Angus Eggs Benedict" ($18.75) with an extra egg ($1.50). The Benny had a very unique flavour profile but it totally worked. The eggs were made to perfection (runny but not overly so) & the Angus portion had lots of onions. This was a delicious breakfast. I asked for the potatoes to be over fried & they were & equally as delicious. The only minor issue was the meal wasn't hot enough. Around the edges the food was even a bit cool. The men's washroom was well cared for, properly equipped & clean. In the dining area there was a small issue with house flies. This could EASILY move to a 5-star. Get rid of the flies & make the food hotter. Otherwise this was a positive dining experience. It's a do-over.

BEWARE: ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK…read more If my memory serves me well, this is the first time ever that I've given an establishment a 1 star rating ... and these are the reasons why: They were seriously understaffed in the kitchen - specially knowing that it was Mother's Day There were 4 of us and we chose to order one starter between us so that we could save our appetite for the mains The Bang Bang Broccoli took one hour to arrive... yes- ONE HOUR During this time we were told just how many cocktails would not be available because they were out of some ingredients ( and this was at 1:30pm on Mothers Day ) - but I must say they had water available and they served that at lightning speed Then 45 minutes after our appetizer arrived and after asking our server and anyone on the staff that we could speak to, one of the 4 mains arrived...which self respecting restaurant would: 1. Take so long to serve the food with any explanation whatsoever? 2. After such a delay, bring only one of the four dishes that were ordered? By this time we were ready to leave but eventually got the other 3 mains and had them packed and took them back home - since our daughter had to drive back to London to be there at 6pm - which she thought would give all of us enough and more time to have a nice leisurely lunch with a reservation for 1pm ... clearly Community Restaurant had other plans Now comes the kicker... as we were heading out I told one of the servers to please tell the owner that if this is how he/she runs a business it would shut down pretty quickly - to which she replies: You're right, this has been sold and will change hands in 2 weeks Good riddance And no thanks for upsetting my daughter who wanted to make the day special for her mother

Took a good while to make us sit in a half empty restaurant. The food came pretty quickly and service was just OK after that. The interior is nice. The coffee we started was very weak and lukewarm warm. We asked for a refill and the refill was the same as well. Hollandaise Benny was good, the Just egg perhaps cooked from the frozen ready was good. The Impossible/Beyond Sausage was good. The Hollandaise sauce was well made. Disappointed with the home fries quantity - very few. The Chik'n Burger made from Oyster Mushroom was very good. Crunchy outside and shredded mushroom to give a chicken texture. Just too greasy for us. Again the fries very few - the plate looks empty and not filling for us. IMO not good enough value for almost $25 all in. The Chik'n and Waffles, same Chik'n as the burger good. The 3 piece (?) waffles were great. The fries still less, however there some salad as well. Good restaurant, OK service. Food is OK, a bit pricey for what we got.
