August 27/2025: Breakfast with Lindsay. Our server "McKayla" was very nice & polite. Food came to the table at a normal speed. I ordered the Steak/Mushroom "Angus Eggs Benedict" ($18.75) with an extra egg ($1.50). The Benny had a very unique flavour profile but it totally worked. The eggs were made to perfection (runny but not overly so) & the Angus portion had lots of onions. This was a delicious breakfast. I asked for the potatoes to be over fried & they were & equally as delicious. The only minor issue was the meal wasn't hot enough. Around the edges the food was even a bit cool. The men's washroom was well cared for, properly equipped & clean. In the dining area there was a small issue with house flies. This could EASILY move to a 5-star. Get rid of the flies & make the food hotter. Otherwise this was a positive dining experience. It's a do-over. read more

This was my second visit to the same branch, and there was a significant difference between my first and second experiences. My first visit was excellent, but today's second visit was a completely different story. We added our names to the waitlist and patiently waited for 110 minutes. The lady at the reception informed us that they would message us once our table was ready. However, at the 100-minute mark, I inquired, and she told me that the kitchen was backed up, so they wouldn't be seating anyone for the next 20 minutes. To make matters worse, there was another party of six waiting next to our car who arrived after us but got a table before us. My frustration isn't about them getting a table first, but rather the fact that the lady had stated they wouldn't seat anyone for the next 20 minutes. It's essential to keep your word and prioritize guests in the order they arrived. Her excuse was that she called all the guests at the same time, but I never received any call. I had to walk in and ask if it was our turn. As for our food, we ordered: Beef me up Scotty - 10/10 Veggies Omelette - 10/10 Mexican Skillet - 7/10 There were too many potatoes and not enough meat. Garden Fresh with Chicken - 3/10 Only five small chicken pieces, and the dish had a hair in it. We removed the chicken and asked for it to be taken off the bill. I'd describe Pur & Simple as an elevated brunch place kind of like how Cora's is. The menu has a wide variety of interesting options and ingredients - things like chorizo and fried chicken bennys and both sweet and savory crepes! There are also combo meals that include a dessert option like a crepe or a pancake so you can get the best of both worlds. Coming early on the weekends or pretty much any time on the weekdays is a good idea because it gets super busy despite how big the restaurant is. They have a digital wait list that you can join prior to getting there so definitely check that on a weekend. I was pleasantly surprised at how filling the Lox Avocado Toast was. It was 2 pieces of whole grain bread slathered with avocado spread and topped with tender smoked salmon, onions, capers, and two perfectly runny poached eggs. It came with a side of their potatoes which are awesome if you like your homefries crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They're also seasoned really well. They're night and day from the flimsy, greasy potatoes at almost every other breakfast place. There's a full plethora of drinks that are coffee based as well as classic brunch drinks like mimosas and smoothies. When I was there, they had a peppermint hot chocolate that was topped with whipped cream and crushed candy canes. It was good, although I prefer the Starbucks ones a little better. read more

My friend just flew in from the states and we decided to get some brunch. I've heard great things about this place so why not give it a shot. I got the strawberry and banana smoothie and french. My friend got the standard breakfast and that green smoothie. So my smoothie was so sour, I think it's because the strawberries were not ripe. But hey, they're using fresh fruits so that's great. Man, it was like I was drinking melted jawbreakers LOL. The french toast was really good. I have quite the sweet tooth so nutella, fruits and french toast is a great combination. Getting there for a Sunday, we knew we had to wait. By the time they texted us for our table, we waited 43 minutes! We sat at the patio, with some annoying bees. The menu had lots to choose from and average dishes cost from. $12-17. My partner's avocado toast was not what he expected. The poach eggs were not running and he said the meal felt dry. My veggies potatoes skillet could have came a lot hotter. I believe the Hollandaise sauce was a different one than stated on the menu. A large quantity indeed, with great home potatoes. If it came in a skillet, I wanted my food hot!!! The server didn't come to check on us, so we didn't complain early. Either way, we were both hungry after waiting to be seated and waited for the food. Even though it's a great spot in Oakville, in a plaza with tons of parking, I wished their food quality could have been better. And the service too! Found this place one day while out shopping. It is bright with tall ceilings and tables are spaced apart or have plexi glass. They currently only had their brunch menu...not lunch. They had gluten free options and their crepes were all gf. The owner is friendly and stopped by our table to chat while we waited for our food. The food is fresh and good quality.. My boyfriend brought me here for breakfast, and it did not disappoint. He ordered his usual cinnamon roll pancakes, which were delicious and indulgent. I ordered a Green Giant to drink, which was sweet and refreshing. It's definitely not bitter or earthy tasting like some green smoothies that I've tried. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and they were some of the best chicken and waffles I've ever tried. The potatoes that came with it were also crispy, well seasoned, and delicious. This dish came with BBQ sauce, but I definitely recommend having it with some maple syrup instead. Overall, it was a great experience and some of the best breakfast food I've ever had. I've lived in Oakville all my life and just recently found out about this place for brunch! I had to call in for a reservation due to the 10 people limit. Interior: The inside was clean and nice. The seating area was comfortable as we got a booth! The restaurant is pretty big so i barely saw anyone else because they only allowed 10 people and we were a group of 4. Food: I ordered the avocado toast with a fruit salad on the side. I also got a sunset mimosa (pineapple juice) which tasted really good. I wanted to get a Caesar but I asked the waitress and she advised against it as it was kind of different from an original Caesar, which i appreciated. I thought the avocado toast was good but it was kinda salty. The cheese was also just a sliced piece of cheese which was kind of odd so i took it out. Otherwise it's pretty good and the fruit salad was pretty big as a side. Overall the pricing is pretty cheap for a brunch place. I love Pur & Simple. The location in Oakville is bright, modern, and really open concept. It is one of those restaurants where it is easy to social distance, especially in the warmer months because they have a larger patio. The menu here is so extensive: from breakfast to lunch (and everything in between), sweet or savory, I can guarantee there is an option for anyone here. I ordered breakfast takeout here this weekend. We tried the breakfast burrito and the Montreal smoked meat breakfast poutine. The poutine was topped with a spicy hollandaise....if that isn't enough to convince you to try it I don't know what is. Both menu items were amazing, full of flavour, and good size portions. The food was definitely fresh, and packed well for transit. The potatoes were even still warm on arrival. If you are a hash brown lover like myself and enjoy them on the crispy side, Pur & Simple is the probably the place for you! They are also not overly seasoned which is *chefs kiss* One thing I do not love about this restaurant is how loud it can be inside. I think because of the materials of the interior and the fact that it is open concept makes the noise / music bounce off everything. It can be difficult to hear conversations! My family and I had Easter breakfast at Pur & Simple this morning. The atmosphere is so clean and inviting. My 5 year old had the rainbow pancakes sans chocolate chips, with side bacon and fruit to share. My husband had the Potato Pancake Eggs Benedict, and I had the French toast with fresh berries. It was amazing. The orange juice was freshly squeezed, coffee hot and the momosa's were a great touch. Everything was super fresh, delicious and very quick. The service was fantastic, they were very attentive and lots of servers to help with everything. The menu has so much to offer we will definitely be back very soon. However, the service and wait time were so awful that I won't be going back again. I've been twice now and both times we had to wait 20 minutes once we were seated just to order. After ordering we waited 50 minutes for our food - just ridiculous. The food is delicious, but absolutely not worth the wait and our waitress was very rude and unapologetic. It was a weekday both times so I can't imagine what they're like on a weekend. Several friends also said they experienced this level of service here and won't be returning. It's a shame because I would've loved this restaurant otherwise - the decor, location, and food are all great. read more
