Suggestions from friends and top recommendation for brunch in Yelp top rated lists of brunches in the Triad. Located in the corner of 4th ST in downtown Winston Salem. You can easily pass it. We were lucky to be able to find street parking cause its usually busy here. Staff greeted us once we stepped in,seated us and took our order right away. We went around 1 in the afternoon on a weekday. There is indoor and outdoor tables. I ordered the weekly limited special of the week;avocado toasts with pork belly bits, dried cranberries, brie, greens and topped with overeasy eggs( the most creative avocado toasts Ive tasted in the triad area). It is sooo savory and delicous. Hearty brunch leaving your stomach full but light. We all ordered something and shared. Everything came out quick, hot and delicous. I will have to add this to my favorite top 10 brunch places in the triad. The quality, price and portion of the items are of great value.

I would recommend reservations for a party of our size. They do have outdoor seating, but inside is tight. Our waitress was (Lauren) , she was amazing. She helped us get settled along with what I think was the manager? They both got our Grandaughter situated in a high-chair and moved a table next to ours so we had some space. We started with fried pickles, they were perfect & the dipping sauce took it over the top. Our young one loved them. We all enjoyed our entrées from fried chicken to grits. We shared and all had a taste of all that was ordered. No complaints Going on 7pm & I am still full. High-lights was the chicken, potatoes were delicious, French toast, mac/cheese, okay pretty much everything was delicious. Lauren and all the crew we came contact with were awesome.

Such a artsy and definitely industrial kinda place. Outside seating which was lovely on a nice cooler morning when we went, there were a lot of people working or meeting others . Which all look amazingly delicious and very hard to decide what to get. I got a cappuccino and a biscuit with jam. Which was nice and warm and buttery, the jam is also house made and really good smeared in the biscuit. I wish they had skim milk, but they only offer oat and whole. So I had oat and had a really nice coffee! My friend had a cold brew and the espresso cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was picture beautiful! The day we went was nice, so we sat outdoors, and they were playing jazzy music over the speakers. Our server was friendly and attentive. All of the food was good - really good. We will definitely be back. This restaurant is a 9/10 for me.

The dish I chose was the BBQ Shrimp and Grits. The grits were creamy and the dish tasted nice, however the "jumbo shrimp" description on the menu (reinforced by the server) were a misnomer. The shrimp were the size of cocktail shrimp, if not smaller. I was also expecting a larger serving for the $20 price tag. The plate/bowl they were served in was shallow, so the serving was disappointingly small in spite of covering the plate. The menu has a lot of depth and next time I'll try out something else. This spot just didn't do it for me with that particular dish though.

This is our Sunday Brunch experience - phenomenal. We were looking for something new and…read morediscovered that Founders has brunch with Gluten Free chicken and waffles which is something we haven't found in North Carolina yet. Technically they have to use the same waffle maker so if you are a severe Celiac you should be aware of that, luckily our party member is able to chance very slight cross-contamination so it was not a worry big enough to override the desire for waffles. If it is an issue for you, they offer pancakes instead so you can still have a treat. We did not experience any ill-effects but your mileage may vary of course. Both the gluten free and standard breakfast options were terrific, it seems like everything was made in-house. We will absolutely be back. It seems like they have some limitations on how much of certain foods they can turn out (for example, they probably only have a handful of waffle makers) so it did take a little while to get our food. This isn't uncommon for brunch at many places but I don't know what it's like during dinner service so I can't speak to that. The place itself is beautiful, it looks like an old home or B&B and it's got a cozy charm. My only complaint was the Mimosa price being a bit high and the drink itself just being a standard cava+orange juice. I'd love to see $2 knocked off the Mimosa price if I could choose, but otherwise everything was so good. Finally, do get a reservation or be prepared to wait during the top hours.

We called ahead last week to reserve a table for 8 but it ended up being just the 6 of us. They still sat us at a nice oversized table (almost too large) in a semi-private room which was a pleasant surprise. Our waiter Brandon was very nice and friendly, prompt with orders, and always checking back in regularly. He also offered some suggestions on personal and fan favorites (shrimp and grits, beignets) I can't resist flight options when they're on the menu, so I had to go with the mimosa flight. I tried the sunrise, tropical, and Tiffany (OJ/tequila, bacardi/coconut/pineapple, and lemonade / blue zest). My favorite was actually the Tiffany even though I'm not a huge fan of lemonade, it was light and refreshing and crisp/chill, exactly how I love it. The other two were tasty but not as cold - I asked for ice - but probably because they're made with tequilas that aren't refrigerated. For our entrees, we got an assortment of benedicts, salads, and chicken/waffles. I personally had the pork belly benedict. The pork belly itself was really good and the poached eggs were perfectly runny, but as a whole, it fell a little flat, just didn't quite deliver the entire burst of flavor I was hoping for. It was not bad by any means, I think it just needed a/more sauce or something. All in all though, we had a great time and would definitely return. Pricing is pretty fair/standard as well. I could definitely be tempted by the martini or margarita flight next time as well as the beignets which we totally forgot about after the waiter initially suggested them!

[I JUST RECEIVED A PHONE CALL REGARDING A FULL REFUND THAT MAY TAKE A MONTH TO CLEAR. -- I JUST…read moreWANTED TO BE FAIR AND POST THAT HERE. IF IT COMES, I MAY AMEND THE REVIEW] Don't Let My Mistake Become Your Mistake I rarely write negative reviews, but this was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The HVAC system at this property is apparently old and, according to staff, frequently malfunctions. Unfortunately, I learned that firsthand when the air conditioning failed on the hottest day of the year--July 4th. After a long flight and drive from Charlotte Airport, I arrived expecting a comfortable night's rest. Instead, I spent a sleepless night in a sweltering room. To the hotel's credit, staff offered me a replacement room, but what was supposed to be an upgrade was just as hot as the standard room I had originally booked. At that point, there was no meaningful solution to the problem. What made the situation even worse was the hotel's billing policy. Unlike most hotels that charge you after your stay, this property charged my credit card in advance. That's particularly bad news when the hotel cannot provide the basic service you're paying for: a room with working air conditioning. With no realistic option but to leave, I checked out early on July 4th, forfeiting the second night of my reservation. Yet the front desk staff informed me they were not authorized to refund the unused night, despite already having charged my card. I was told that only the manager, Mr. Aaron Simerlink, could approve the refund--and that he works only Monday through Friday. Think about that for a moment. The hotel could charge my credit card immediately, but the employees standing in front of me supposedly lacked the authority to return money for a night I would not be using because the room was uninhabitable. Why should a guest have to spend a holiday weekend chasing down a manager to obtain a fair refund? Adding insult to injury was the customer service that followed. Mr. Simerlink initially avoided taking my call, and when I finally did speak with him after the front desk returned to him a second time, he ended the conversation by hanging up on me. That is not how a reputable hotel treats a guest who experienced a major service failure. Ironically, when I checked out, the front desk had mistakenly billed me for the room "upgrade." Somehow, they were able to correct that charge without Mr. Simerlink's intervention, yet they remained powerless to refund the unused night. The inconsistency speaks for itself. I eventually noticed that the unused night's charge had been refunded. That was the right outcome, but it should never have been a struggle to get there. A reputable operator would have shown genuine concern for a guest who endured a sleepless night in extreme heat. The response should have been immediate, apologetic, and customer-focused--not reluctant, dismissive, and adversarial. My advice is simple: don't do it. If you're considering staying here, remember that when things go wrong, how management responds matters just as much as the problem itself. Based on my experience, you deserve better. Listen to what I'm telling you. Don't let my mistake become your mistake. You deserve better than this

The positive points are the accommodating, friendly, informative front desk staff. Breakfast was made on site from scratch, it was good and very well priced at $10.95.
